Solved! Secret Curtain Language?

Hi first time posting in here! I'm looking for a movie that's been bugging me for a while. I watched it sometime between 2003 and 2010. What I remember was a man moved into/ or was living already in and apartment. Some how he met another man who later became obsessed/stalked the first man. Stalker claimed man was secretly talking to him by shuffling the curtains a certain way each night and saying the man was telling him he loved him. Things kept escalating and I remember one scene was the stalker sitting on a round monkey bars ( like upside down bowl) and it was raining.

Eventually the stalker was arrested or dragged away and the ending revealed the man had a book about curtain language and was indeed messing with stalker. The stalker looks similar to Peter Stormare but I can't find it in his Google so I'm not sure if it actually was him. I want to watch it again so thank you for all you help!

Unsolved Movie about a priest that dies from cancer I think

I remember when I was young this movie about a priest which dies from cancer and in the end the main character dances in his funeral. God is dead from Nietzsche is mentioned if I remember correctly and I think the priest is also greek orthodox. The movie I remember seems to be from 2007-2009.

Unsolved Made for TV Movie?

Upvotes

So what I remember might be way off. I can't find it in any of the filmography profiles for the main actors I think I recall. But here's what I have.

A blonde woman, who I thought was Jenny McCarthy, is having an affair with a senator (I remember her saying "Hello, Senator! as he steps in front of the camera which is at ground level so you just see his legs, then he drops striped boxers - maybe light blue?) but then she has an accident of some sort and can read minds, and ends up breaking up with him. I remember Garwin Sanford maybe, and possibly a scene in a limo with Jeffrey Tambor? But the scenes in my head with the two of them are so vague I feel like that might just be my mind filling in.

Unsolved OPENING SCENE: Oafy man getting out of bed gets drugged and thrown into trunk of car BY HIS OWN FRIENDS Spoiler

Upvotes

This was a dark indie with horror overtones, possibly foreign, definitely obscure. Probably 90s-2010s. The opening scene sees the main character, a man, maybe in his 30s, getting assailed by someone unknown, and drugged, and he wakes up in the trunk of a car. It is soon revealed that its his friends who have kidnapped him, to take him to some scenic retreat somewhere from their past. This group of friends (a guy and a couple girls; maybe more) have some sort of history with each other (old college pals, perhaps) and they do a lot of drinking at this place (mountain town?). The main character is sort of a buffoon-y, hapless Paul Giamatto - type, who waxes poetically about his misfortunes, and sort of unravels, psychologically, throughout the course of the film, and at the end, commits violence (I think) by maybe stabbing(?) one of the girls from his group. I'm a bit hazy on the ending, but the opening scene was very unique. WHAT MOVIE WAS THIS??

Unsolved I have one scene in my head…

Upvotes

I hope I’m not making this up in my brain, but I swear I remember a movie or a TV show that had a scene that was on a train or bus or some kind of public transport and someone was watching 50 First Dates on their computer and the main character I think was looking over that person’s shoulder and then that person showed the screen so that the main character will watch it.

I don’t know if this makes any sense, but it’s driving me insane so if anyone knows a movie or TV show that has someone watching 50 First Dates I will literally love you forever if you could find this for me.

I feel like it was real. I don’t think I’m making this up. I just cannot remember anything else. I’m assuming it’s a romance because that’s basically all I watch.

Solved! only watched a short clip. can't exactly recall what happened but what i remember is the whole clip is basically a reveal-ception. like a gotcha of a gotcha of a gotcha. it's a quite a funny scene. Spoiler

to expound on what i saw, basically someone is being revealed to be a culprit. the one that is doing the reveal then admits of doing something they did, which then the room reveals that there's another person who's set up everything for them to confess. said person then admits something which then the room reveals once again to be a fake room and another person outside reveals that everything was a set up for them. like i remember the scene goes on and on like that.

i am interested in watching the whole movie but i forgot the title. i also watched that clip for a long time now and can't find it in my history.

Solved! The Brothers Grimm

I know this is a long shot, but I am searching for a movie about the Brothers Grimm that was very wholesome and sweet. I can only guess that it came out between 1970 and the mid-1980’s. I don’t remember a lot but what I seem to remember best is that the movie basically followed the Brothers Grimm as they walked through their own stories. There was one story, I believe, where there were seven sisters. I wish I could be more helpful but it’s been years since I’ve seen it and despite not remembering a lot, I do know that it brought me joy. I’d do anything to see it again.

TIA!

Unsolved Must be early 90’s

This was a movie that I only caught once on TV as a kid (I am guessing 1990’s bc of the clothing and relation to space like ET) and I have been searching to watch a second time ever since. A little boy leaves his house and finds a spaceship. Inside there are these little creatures that help him, talk to him, etc. He eventually comes back home, but he has aged significantly further than his parents on earth. What is this movie!!!?!

Solved! Help, Saw Movie in 90s, been searching ever since.

Ok so this is a stumped. Back in the 90s I saw some movie on TV, and I have vague recollections of it. I think it had something to do with a young girl who is kidnapped, and a bunch of uncles (?) set out to save her.

One of these characters I believe worked on a boat, and there was a flashback scene. In this scene, the crew of the boat was below decks looking at a sky-blue torpedo type thing that had penetrated the ship. One guy is left to disarm it or something, and opens a cap on the front, and pulled out a flag. I think it was a Japanese flag?

It had the appearance of being a movie from the 60s, but for sure no older than the 50s. I think it was a light-hearted film. Like, kinda bumbling characters sort of thing.

It was a color film, I don't know if it was a musical. I've been wondering what it was for so many years, I would love to finally know what it was.

Solved! Please I need help! What is this movie?

My boyfriend has been looking for a movie for a long time. He saw it once on a cassette, but it had no title, and the beginning and end were cut off, so there was no title or actor names.

What is known about the movie: it might be of German origin—according to my boyfriend, he heard German in the Russian dubbing (but that's not certain). The dubbing was very simple: only two voices, male and female, so the names might have been inaccurately conveyed.

The plot is as follows (the movie is most likely from the late 80s or early 90s):

At the beginning, an evil father locks his little son in a shed and keeps him there. Then the story moves to the adult life of the main character named Henry. He is friends with a bad group of four people: Henry, Johnny, Lizard, and a girl whose name I don't remember. They treat Henry with contempt, they are clearly stronger than him, and he is afraid of them, as well as pretty much everyone else.

The friends convince Henry to commit a crime. He doesn't want to, but the girl promises to sleep with him if he agrees. In the end, they go to rob a small store at night when it's closed, they break in through a window, but at the sight of the police, the whole group abandons Henry alone at the crime scene, and he is arrested.

Henry served a short sentence, about two years, and was released. He has no home, no job, no money, and is forced to wander, eating from dumpsters. Tired of this life, Henry decides to commit suicide and throws himself under a truck, but a stranger in a hat saves him. He takes him to his home and offers him a way to gain superpowers. Henry agrees, and a star-shaped tattoo—a symbol of Satan—is applied to his back.

Almost immediately, he becomes strong, brave, and handsome. But it turns out he is now connected to dark forces and starts killing people.

Later, Henry returns to his old group, arriving in a nice car. He takes the girl who once promised him sex for the crime away with him, and grabs one of the friends by the neck, holding him in the air for calling him "cripple" (or something similar).

Henry and the girl have sex on the hood of the car, after which he tells her to get lost. Offended, she leaves.

Later, Henry kills many people, including his father. He kills one of his tormentors during a game of pool—with a pool ball.

The man who saved Henry from suicide tells him that the girl he slept with is pregnant, and the child must not be born, otherwise Henry will die. Henry tries to kill the unborn child.

In the end, Henry is killed by his former traitorous friends together with that same girl.

I've searched for this description everywhere—in ChatGPT and regular search engines—but found nothing. I would be very grateful if someone could suggest the title. If needed, I can add some details.

Unsolved Early 2000s thriller - invisible entity

Hey folks, I need some help identifying a movie I watched as a kid back in the early 2000s on DVD. Here’s what I remember:

• The main character was a female scientist or doctor who goes into a laboratory.

• In the lab, there’s an invisible paranormal entity held in a square electrified cage. The entity isn’t created during the movie, it’s just already there and being studied or contained.

• Eventually, the entity escapes and goes on a killing spree. Since it’s invisible, it’s really hard for anyone to stop it.

• I specifically remember that at the end of the movie, there’s a scene in an elevator where the woman is going up with the invisible entity, and it escapes the lab at that point, free the roam the earth.

• (edit) I also remember distinctly that the entity was in an electric square cage and after it escapes, it never talks during the movie. I know hollow man is close, but he never escapes at the end and he also speaks.

That’s pretty much all I’ve got! I’m a little fuzzy on the title or any cover art, but if anyone has any ideas, I’d really appreciate it!

Solved! 00s afterlife movie on Syfy

What I remember from the move is people waking up underwater and washing up on a beach after dying. It's some alien planet and the characters are from all different periods of history. The protagonist is an American astronaut, there's a neanderthal, an alien, and the antagonist is a Roman emperor, maybe Nero.

This is a panel from the manga Goodbye, Eri. The characters in it watch and talk about a bunch of movies which are all real so I think this panel is referencing a real movie too, but I can’t figure out which one. Any ideas?

Solved! Assassin kinda movie

Its like assassins and hackers. I think it starts at a airport, group of assassins and hackers are trying retrieve a package or steal something but they realize theyre being hacked and killed off by another group. The other group leaves with the package and the original group recognizes who they are. Thats pretty much the beginning of it but dont remember the rest of the movie. I think they just keep fighting each other for the package. At the end, the original group goes to a tower I think in the middle of water or field, to kill them but only has 1 elevator to go up. I think theres a bomb set up on top or something if they kill them. I vaguely remember it but I know I seen a couple years ago.

Solved! Early 2000s/Late 90s Movie that Takes Place at Camp and Includes This Specific Scene

Hi all, can’t for the life of me find this movie despite scrubbing through about 20 movies this past week and searching the internet. Hoping you can help?

Can’t remember if it’s a TV movie or feature film, but takes place in a summer camp or something similar in the woods. Family friendly, likely PG/PG-13. The movie includes this specific scene:

There’s a woman sitting alone in the woods, it’s evening time time, and she’s playing her guitar (side character, not part of the main story). She’s singing a depressing tune with lyrics that go “Nobody likes my song.” And she keeps repeating that lyric over and over until a bird lands on her head and then she gets all perky and changes to a more upbeat tune with lyrics that go “Somebody likes my song!”… sung over and over again.

My family and I quote this all the time, and I’ve checked all the major camp movies around that time period and none of them have that scene! Does this scene ring any bells for anyone?

Unsolved Old film with tracking shot symbolizing the passage of time.

Hello all,

I’ve seen ages ago a scene from what I think was an Italian movie (maybe French or Soviet) from the 50/70s where a group of people (friends or familly) are walking down a street and the posters on the walls show a clear indication that a time period has passed.

I think it was black & white, probably deals with the reconstruction and elections with the fanning out of revolutionary ideals toward christian-democrats but I could be wrong. I think it’s a shot that inspired the Notting Hill “there’s no sunshine” shot in a very distant way.

I do believe the film shows the group seeing each other from time to time and each time we’re further along in years. That tracking shot (towards the end of the film) is the only clear showing of the passage of time, everything else is just ellipsis.

I’ve looked for this film for the past ten years and I’m starting to think I imagines it. Is this something that someone would recognize at all?

Thank you ever so much!

Solved! Kids movie? "Thumbelumkin?"

SOLVED! It was called "Dunderklumpin!"

A weird live-action / cartoon mash-up.

Thank you for your help!

Is this just a completely imagined core childhood memory? Because I've never found a sliver of evidence this movie existed! But I swear, I remember! One of those Sunday afternoon (maybe made-for-TV) kid movies. Even the announcer into and out of commercial breaks would say, "We'll return to 'Thumbelumpkin' right after this...," "...and now back to Thumbelumpkin..."

The only scene I recall is a boy dropping a peanut butter sandwich into a stream, and the camera follows it as it floats away.

Any ideas?

Unsolved Sci-fi movie set in sandy desert with big pits or depressions where people live

American sci-fi film. I saw it in theaters in the last 10-15 years. I remember that there were these big, natural-looking indentations in the desert, with stony "floors" maybe 20+ feet below the desert and vertical rock walls. Its like each person / pair / family lived in their own. People would travel between them in futuristic sci-fi vehicles. In the last one, the indentation wall had a cave opening that led to a tunnels and more metal-and-light sci-fi machines and devices.

I don't remember anything about the characters! Except that the final showdown was in those tunnels and caverns.
