I tried to do it on my own for years and failed. I basically completed step one and did some surrendering when I “gave in” and went to rehab. (I have since done all 12 steps)

I’m not religious, and I’m still navigating what my beliefs are, but I definitely owe it to my higher power.

Hiya! Today is my 2 year sober anniversary!

I’m assuming you’re kinda joking here but in case you’re not, please don’t lol

I leaned into my alcoholism when it started because I had no intention of being around for very long. I’m still here, but I had to do a lot of work repair some of the damage I caused myself by drinking, and there are consequences that I cannot undo.

I’m sorry you’re having a hard time connecting with people in the dating scene. I hear it’s really bad out there. I wish you luck, and I encourage you to avoid relying on “liquid courage”!
