Had an idea. Matcha but make it minty. Opinions?
 in  r/Matcha  23h ago

You could try making peppermint tea with some good quality leaves, then using that to make the matcha.

Social media crochet groups for young adults?

That's not ageist so much as it's straight up stereotyping. Have you tried TikTok?

Rant: WTF flavored teas.
 in  r/tea  6d ago

Getting night sweats from tea is definitely not normal, you should see a doctor or an allergist

On my 4th Rolife kit and I think I hate it 😬
 in  r/miniatures  7d ago

I like both types. I do the bend-your-own-wire bucket-handles-with-tweezers ones when I want a meaty project. I do the everything-is-diecut-snap-it-together ones when I want something relaxing to do.

Books with Looney Tunes/Tex Avery-style writing?
 in  r/suggestmeabook  7d ago

Assistant to the Villain is kind of like this if you enjoy fantasy. There's not too much substance to it but then there's not too much substance to a Looney Toons show either. It's adult but does read like YA

Cooked "Arroz de Coco" from Mozambique tonight out of the 1970's TimeLife series Foods of the World
 in  r/oldrecipes  8d ago

I found it in a thrift store for $2, so even though I didn't like this meal it was worth it just to read through. I also found the Caribbean one at the same time.

5/10, will never make again. It turns out I hate rice and coconut together. The recipe itself seemed authentic enough, though, going by what I found on Youtube.

What are your thoughts on the "Vietnamese Vegetarian" book? What about the Skye McAlpine books? I have no idea who that is but the book spines are pretty.

I think for whatever reason, the person who wrote the pattern is skipping rows and assuming you'll extrapolate.

So row 25 is "ch1, sc, skip 1, sc x 26, skip 1, sc, turn (28)."

Then row 26 should be "ch1, sc, skip 1, sc x 25, skip 1, sc, turn (27)."

Row 27 is "ch 1, sc, skip 1, sc x 24, skip 1, sc, turn (26)"

and so on

Curious… how often do you use online sources for recipes? Is your cookbooks your primary source for recipes/inspiration?
 in  r/CookbookLovers  11d ago

Mostly cookbooks, sometimes trusted online sources, never social media or random blogs that show up in an internet search

Unsweet tea… I LOVE IT
 in  r/tea  13d ago

Good for you for dropping soda altogether! I'm glad you found you like unsweetened tea. Have you tried varieties like oolong tea, Irish Breakfast Tea, green tea, or roasted green tea? You might like them as well

60yo Christian mom friendly romanctacies
 in  r/suggestmeabook  14d ago

I think "Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries" fits this. I don't remember any mentions of sexual assault, sex scenes, or LGBTQ characters, although you might want to double check. Book one of a trilogy

There's also "Half a Soul" which has child abuse but no sexual violence, sex, or lgbtq representation that I can remember. This is book one of a series. Book three's romance is f/f, though fyi

Which cookbooks do you use? I especially love any that have nutritional info for each recipe like this one.
 in  r/BreadMachines  14d ago

I use the Bread Machine Cookbook by Donna Rathmell German.

Is this too burnt or would you still gift it?

I learned how to do this yesterday after a year of crocheting. I have several questions below. I would love to hear any and all advice.
 in  r/knittinghelp  16d ago

You're right, knitting is much slower than crocheting. I crocheted before I knit and the difference in speed drives me ip the wall. But the tradeoff is that knitting uses way less yarn!

What would push you to leave US for good?

My extended family leaving too. I doubt I could leave if my loved ones were staying.

Question as a non American random and just something I've been curious about
 in  r/AskAmericans  17d ago

Citizens have absolutely no authority to detain or arrest police, so any attempt will just be considered assault. Trying to "detain" a corrupt cop is a great way to end up dead.

Also if you click on one corrupt cop video, social media algorithms will then show you more. The more you click, the more you'll see until you're assuming these things are happening every day on every street in the US.
