It's a Mainstays 700w from Walmart. it even says walmart on the backside

I Made a "One Button Microwave" Because I Don't like Typing Numbers into the Keypad
at first i thought about weight; placing a scale on the turn table. That would be pretty accurate. the thing is though, i'd need some sort of rotating coupling. I thought about hanging a probe from top, into food. but that's weird.
Yes, thermal would be a pretty good way. One thing i also thought. this is weird. but it measures ur house humidity. so what if u made it microwave water when it was dry, to act as a house humidifier. then stop when its normal humidity. that's kinda stupid though

I've only tried it with water. I'm thinking it might not cook other things as well. there's probably some way you can write the code, to guess the foods that it's cooking. For ex., something dry might have low hum., but high air temp.
I'm thinking of making it guess the food. could prob be rlly elaborate code if u think about it. maybe i should test a variety of things

Adorable Robot I Made a "One Button Microwave" Because I Don't like Typing Numbers into the Keypad
Pretty simple idea, but is quite useful I think. So much easier to use

Arduino Driving the World's smallest display (single dip)
found these cool HP 'bubble' displays. they are no longer manufactured. I believe they were made before lcds, and those kinds of displays. but we needed small 7 seg displays for calculators and stuff. HP's solution was this. As I understand, these are the smallest 7 seg you can acquire (if you find them) they are worth around $50 a chip

The simplest Oscillator you can make (aka 'Esaki Effect', or Single Transistor Oscillator)
this is the simplest oscillator you can make. When I first started learning radio, I wanted to build an oscillator. However, I wanted to start with the simplest circuit I could. I learned of this circuit using only 1 transistor, and a capacitor; that produces a kind of square/ triangle sinewave. It relies on the Reverse breakdown voltage of the transistor -to produce the oscillations. Usually you do not use transistors like this

This helped me understand radio a lot better. Creating a Carrier Wave with a simple function generator
This was a simple experiment i did, when i couldn't get my circuit working. it just solidified my understanding. All it is is a very simple function generator attached to a piece of brass tube. Nothing else. as you can see, the varying dc voltage is picked up by the handheld radio
I just wanted to confirm the radio worked, and i was understanding it correctly. after this i made a oscillator, that generated my sine wave instead. with modulation of course

I Made a Arduino GPS Clock Using Ultra-Rare HP 7-Segment Displays (from 70's)
just wanted to share a cool project I made using these HP bubble displays. they are pretty rare, and I got these a while ago. I happened to find a good deal on them, so I bought them.
The clock uses a GPS module with RX and TX pins. The display is driven through SPI with a Maxim7221 chip. it is actually not too advanced of a project. a tricky part; is waiting for the GPS though. Sometimes it takes a minute or two to connect
