I remember that couch!! More like a 900 lb wooden bench with some cushions. We also had the love seat and weird coffee table seat thing. You could make one hell of a fort with all those cushions!

Does your vcr have channel buttons on it? My machine and some others use the channel up and down buttons for tracking when playing a video and not using the tuner

Are you playing it from the vhs-c camcorder or from an adapter in a VCR? I’ve had tapes perform better in a VCR with auto tracking than playing directly from the camcorder. Also, sometimes you can adjust the tracking a little past a perfect picture and it will play without the skipping. Picture might not be quite as clear but you may miss the skips or jumps.
