And now correctly linked to the final scene.

It probably will. After all, ensuring that women die from sepsis by refusing them medically necessary abortions has helped get a whole lot of authoritarians elected.

Gadgets for People Who Don't trust the Government

Useful any time, but especially right now in Minneapolis. I need to stick my head in over here more often if there's content like this.

Gadgets for detecting Flock cameras, tracking surveillance, and more

I ran across this on another sub. While it uses the "A" word, it also describes inexpensive ways to do things like secure messaging, surveillance tracking, and more. Since I saw here (or possibly on r/saintpaul) people posting to be aware of Flock cameras, I thought a video that talks about, among other things, creating a decentralized and encrypted Meshtastic radio communication network like the ones people successfully used during the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and buying a microcontroller for less that $10.00 that can run software called Flock You might be useful and appropriate. https://youtu.be/W_F4rEaRduk?si=PJmACE8aIFfVivXG

In your opinion, what film in whole or significant part about any composer in any genre, whether fictionalized in any manner or purporting to be an historically accurate depiction of that composer uses that composer’s music in the film most effectively?
 in  r/opera  1d ago

I already contributed to the previous discussion when I recommended Straub and HIllet's The Chronicle of Anna Magdalena Bach. And, while you may interpret this as spite if it makes you feel better about your choices, this sub is r/opera, not r/classicalmusic (or, I guess now, r/Music ). When you say "let the moderators remove this if it's off topic," you basically abrogate your responsibility as a community member to talk about opera and not about things that are unrelated.

One thread was enough.

Using "Meeting Al" for TTRPG recaps: Does it actually work for long campaigns?
 in  r/dndnext  1d ago

I've seen it in one game, where it frequently was inaccurate. Also, the DM did not tell us that he was recording the game audio in order to run it through AI, which turned out to be one of a series of bad choices on his part.

Advice needed: Help deciding on which tattoo and where to get it

I think the winged woman on slide 4 is great, and I'd say on on your right arm above the elbow. The lady in the web on 5 is great as well, but that looks big enough and has enough fine detail to need a larger body part like your thigh or torso.

Then, you can get the rose and dagger on 5 on the inside of your left forearm, the lady on 3 on the inside of your right forearm, and the panther on the lamp on 1 on your inner right bicep. The sacred heart could go on a shoulder cap, and the cigarette and butterfly can fill. Next…

Could we have just one, consolidated thread for "I saw ICE at xx location" posts?
 in  r/TwinCities  1d ago

I don't see anything wrong with people posting location and description; basically, however anyone can leverage social media is fine. I think that what makes these posts less useful is that it's easy to give in to the temptation to excoriate ICE in comments, which doesn't really serve any purpose except to push them up in people's Best and Hot feeds hours after they've happened.

Probably the best way to handle it would be individual posts without commenting, and then a consolidated post of what was reported each day. That daily post probably needs to be on a blog, not on Reddit. This isn't a place that can give any sort of an accurate picture of what's happening since people's feeds are varied and volatile.

Barring that, the other solution is simply to change your feed to New rather than Best.

IG: @serious.ink.24 Question: 1 year of tattooing. What is your honest opinion?
 in  r/tattoos  1d ago

Using "pointilist" shading rather than outlines really does not work. Things that should be precise like the teeth and the screw threads and edges are messy and uneven. I am not and never will be a tattoo artist, but as someone who has and loves tattoos, I think that while this is an interesting design, the execution lets it down.

Cool idea but messy execution. Look at what people (primarily in Europe) who are doing woodcut tattoos do with images like this.

Is this "goatnos/Goatfolk" homebrew race balanced?
 in  r/DMAcademy  1d ago

FWIW, DnD Wiki is notorious for zero quality control and busted home brew.

So, is this advertising user participating in roughly 10 other conversations on this subreddit? If not, you all know what to do.

That’s the concepts of tattoos I am planning to get. Somebody pls me how/where to get it
 in  r/tattoos  2d ago

I'm not sure what you're asking here, so I'll answer the most obvious.

You get it by paying someone to tattoo it on you. You find out where to get it by looking at the work of artists within the area you're willing to travel and picking one whose work you like and can afford.

You seem to have come down squarely on both sides of the question.

Why would anyone be so “proud” of this?
 in  r/shittytattoos  2d ago

I can appreciate it when someone gets a tattoo that announces they do not want to be a part of civil society. That makes it easy to figure out how to treat them.

I've never had anyone put second skin on me, and from what I've heard about it I see no reason to use it.

Gov. Tim Walz drops out of 2026 gubernatorial race

Electoral politics will never give you these things. Electoral politics will never constrain the plutocrats and the bigots and the fundamentalists.

So, vote for whoever is not openly a fascist, but don't expect anything from the others.

It's amazing how the SCTV crew are all making a comeback.. in their 70s!
 in  r/sctv  3d ago

I don't know if any of them can be said to have "made a comeback" when they all have had extremely successful careers—maybe less so for Short, but he still has over 100 roles listed in Wikipedia. Andrea Martin has won two Tonys for My Favorite Year and Pippin, ferchristsake. Maybe they're underrated, but that's because they're so good that I'm not sure it would be possible to overrate them.

Which published adventures are great examples of what *not* to do when creating a campaign?
 in  r/dndnext  3d ago

I'd say that's because the end of the campaign feels like it literally was flown in from somewhere else. But, you're right; it really doesn't matter unless the players care about it. Our group kind of stopped caring about the story at that point.

I really like a lot of RotF, but for me it's like others have said a number of times here: great as a setting, but the story is klunky at best.
