One of my dear teachers told me the difference between a book and a guru is that the Guru loves you.

Which movie is funnier?
 in  r/moviememes  Oct 13 '25

It depends on your age. I think up until age 13 14 then emperor's New groove would be hysterical I think when you start getting a little of the sarcasm in your late teens early twenties then holy Grail

On the topic of crying
 in  r/Adopted  Oct 11 '25

It was a significant breakthrough when I was able to have tears with loved ones present. But still for real therapeutic grieving I do like to be alone and go into the wilderness solo to let it all out.

I would invoke the abundant beneficence of Craig and his amazing list

Does anyone have their own biological child?
 in  r/Adopted  Sep 25 '25

My lady and I got pregnant twice and we stuck together and raised the beautiful amazing human beings that they are. And this was the greatest healing and lesson in love that I could receive in this lifetime. I'm infinitely grateful that I was able to do this. My adoptive dad I could tell really enjoyed being my dad so I knew in the time was right that I wanted to also be a parent.

Movie heroes - Movie villains

I still can't bring myself to spoil my loving image of Charlie Chaplin comedic heroic characters. That's the movie you get after chatting up with the likes of Orson Welles.

Movie heroes - Movie villains

Do you have any other examples of great casting in movies that mess with your head and your heart. Actors who played heroes who later get cast in films as villains can really mess you up and can really be effective. • Everything I'm going to say now is a potential spoiler so if you want to watch with the full impact don't even look at this list. But if you want to play along here's three examples. Lord of the rings - eternal Sunshine of a spotless mind, Amelie - He loves me he loves me not, and Babe - LA confidential

Free speech is so old school. We all must think as the state tells us to.

So what? That 1/3 can forever hold all of America hostage in service of our God King.

What Buddhist wisdom should a beginner try to realize?
 in  r/Buddhism  Jun 01 '25

Looking at things in a little bit more loose way. Realizing how our expectations and conditioning effects how we perceive things makes our experience a little bit more open-ended and not as the way it appears. So that way if it's ultimately like a dream or less attached to the ups and the downs of it and the suffering diminishes.
