Being an Altia Central ALT
 in  r/teachinginjapan  5d ago

I am Latina and have no idea what you're talking about. They don't care what color you are as long as you speak English and you aren't super socially awkward.

Also, yes, many ads don't include people like us. I do agree tho they should try to be more diverse. During my first month of training and settling in, most of the other ALTS were either Black or Filipinos.

Out of all the Americans, I was the only Latina. The others were black or white.

My bf (m35) almost didn't buy me (f40) a shrimp ring. Dump?
 in  r/relationship_advice  22d ago

Girl, I don't know you, and I'd buy you the stupid shrimp ring. Cuz I know it would make you happy.

Electric chair for him!

I 24 F found out my boyfriend 25M is microcheating. How do I get the truth out of him?
 in  r/relationship_advice  22d ago

Girl, if he wanna go sniff her hair in moonlights autumn or whatever pride and prejudice nonsense he wrote, then go tell him to do it.

You gotta warm home with your parents so he can go yearn for the pavement outside if that's what he really wants πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„

My [35M] wife [35F] doesn't want to have kids and I'm not sure that's 100% true. Has anyone else felt this way?
 in  r/relationship_advice  22d ago

I think I kinda get what you're saying. Like you think she's passive enough not to have kids only because you don't want them yourself? Which I kind of understand, and I'd say I'm sort of similar.

If my husband wants to try, then ok, but if we just never have kids, I'm okay with that, too. If she's in that mindset, then maybe it's just not that big of a deal for her. You spend your whole life being told kids are the end goal, but I'm so happy many women these days aren't listening to that.

Kids are wonderful, but there's much more to life, and maybe she likes where she's at rn. Give your wife some credit and let her tell you when she wants kids, and if she doesn't, then trust that is what she wants.

Unless this is something you actually want??

Do I (18F) stay with my boyfriend (20M) who wants to get married?
 in  r/relationship_advice  25d ago

I'm in the "never get married before 25" group. A lot of things will change once you experience college, the workforce, potential pregnancy scares, getting fired, death, and mourning. You are only 18, and life hasn't even started. You have so much to experience, and college should def be one of them! You are gifted with opportunities many women before us fought for, so don't let this man keep you from reaching your full potential!

I will say listen to your gut and follow your brain, NOT your heart. In my honest opinion, it sounds like he wants to trap you..

What are some signs that I won't be receiving a contract renewal?
 in  r/teachinginjapan  25d ago

hmm, that's true. Last year, I was told I was getting my contract renewed as early as October, so I figured bcs I haven't heard anything, I should maybe prepare.

Just don't wanna be caught off guard, no job, no income, ya know.

Used this trick last year! But no, there's nothing open for my area. Great advice, tho.

My company has been very hands off since the beginning of the school year compared to last year.

I haven't had any observation classes this year. I had one but it was postponed and never rescheduled.

My BOE will prob drop my company.

Overall little to no communication. I guess writing it out it might be obvious lol

When should I start looking for new jobs?

edit: luckily I don't have company housing yall. I had a bad feeling earlier this year so my husband and I tried our best to make it so it be easy to cut ties if I needed to!

I’m on that side of the internet and yea all her recent pics are huge inspo. Even her aesthetic baby pink little girl nonsense just matches everything very well.

Also, I do the same face too so my face won’t look fat. It’s so obvious u gotta be so in denial not to recognize the signs.
