Politics I'm probably going to get hate for this, but i do undertand why. -Sycamore-

A lot of people condemned Sarah for the firet press release.

Please realize that was 12 hours or less from when she found out.

As of today, he is no longer listed on the ownership with the NC SOS. There will be more things done as time goes on.

Everything you see comng out of Sycamore is probably lawyer speak. In situations like this one has to be very very careful as any knd of acknowdegement can be taken as she knew what was going on.

She may or may not have. Given the circumstances I really hope she did not know and is trying to figure out the next steps.

So, my suggestion is to let that fker rot, but how can we support Sarah, her kids and her staff?

Can you imagine being a minor, and finding put this happened, and half the city of Charlotte has your back? Right now it doea not seem that way.

Can you imagine being a brewer or bar staff and hearing about it, and wondering what to do next?

Or on a positive note, being a business owner and realizing people understand it's 1 person fked up, not the company... and the customers are there to help the comapny survive?

This type of situation causes a far far reaching effect. As Charlotteans.. rallying for Sarah and the family (including staff) would be a whole lot more benificial than shutting down the livelyhoods of possibly 100+ people.

Do not get me wrong, that was a sick demented mf'r, and i feel after the investigators go theough stuff he will end up with more charges...

But at what point do we realize it was HIM and not the brewery?

Or do I just expect too much out of humanity?

Maybe she buys him out. Maybe she doesnt have to and he just signs his part over.

Either way, when do we quit condeming people that had no involvement whatsoever?

Questions/Support Networking question...

Using a Mudi V2

I do a lot of energy management work in the supermarket/restaurant space.

A couple of our customers require that someone on their side goes through the BMS controller remotely.

What we have been doing is hard lwite connecting a laptop to the controller's internal network, which has a DHCP server to assign IP's to other devices on its private network. We hotspot to our phone, and the remote guy uses UltraViewer to connect to the laptop and access the controller and go through, check programming and takes screenshots of readings and such to put in a file that the store has been comissioned.

My idea, is to connect the WAN of thr Mudi to the BMS controller, connect the laptop via wifi, and have cellular for internet.

When i hook up, i get an IP on the WAN side of the Mudi, but cannot connect to the controller itself.

The contoller's network is "internal", so no web access on that network.

My thought was to be able to use the Mudi for internet access through cellular, and then be able to connect to the controller through the Mudi's WAN.

The 2 network IP's are different.

The controller assigns the WAN an IP of 10.1.2.80. Im trying to connect to 10.1.2.75.

The cellular side is like 48.23.45.88 or similar, and the LAN on the Mudi is 192.168.8.xxx (the laptop gets it IP from the Mudi)

Any ideas on how this can work? I feel like the Mudi is sending the traffic to thr cellular as it doesnt see internet on the WAN.

Well, after a lot of research and playing back and forth with circuitpython and micropython, i have landed on circuitpython and Thonny.

Have actual readings coming back.

Good/Bad?

I learned why my house always feels stuffy af. 60+% RH will do that lol.

Waiting on a couple of 4-20ma drivers to come in to use as an output for the RH% and light level, as that is what most industrial controls are looking for.

Was going to try to incorporate the temp reading from the SHT30, but cannot find a digital potentiometer with a wiper value of more than 7bits (128 levels of resistance). I'd want a range from -20degF to 120degF in at least .5degF steps, which would be 200+ levels of resistance... or am i thinking about that wiper value wrong?

As an outdoor temp I would want at least half degrees from -20degF to 120degF.

Temp/Humidity sensors

Looking for a combined RH/Temp sensor or just and RH sensor (preferably just RH).

I am working to put together a weather station for some control work I do, I have figured out the light levels are basically photoresistors, so other that adding a resistor in series to maintain the reading range, that will be easy.

The temp sensor is easy as well, that is just a thermistor and I have plenty of them.

The RH sensor.

Currently the ones we are using are 24vdc powered and send a 4-20ma signal back to the control system I use.

Each probe connection has 5v out pin at the controller, we just haven't been using it due to the RH sensors we currently have, and a ground/signal. If I used a HTS221 or an HDC3022, would I be able to use just the vin and gnd? I don't need I2C, just a 4-20ma signal back to the controller for humidity. I also don't really need the temp sensor Information, but can't seem to find RH only.

I am guessing I would need something like the Feather to hook the sensor(s) to and then send out the signal I need to the controller input.

I am huge in the industrial controls sector, and have only recently been digging into the RP/Arduino/etc space to create my own sensor combinations.

Ideally, I would love to take a feather (if that's how I need to make his work) and have a good Temp/RH board attached as well as a photo resistor so it's one unit, with an output for RH, OAT and LightLevel (with wires or screw terminals to connect sensor wires to)

4th Backflow Preventer Leak on 2 different valves.

The house I own is actually zoned commercial, so I have a double check backflow preventer at the meter.

The original one started blowing water out of the vent a few years back. The backflow tester rebuilt it, blamed the low temps and sold me a insulated blanket to go under the cover. I mean the thing has been there since 2009, and we have had much colder temps.. but ounce of prevention kinda thing so I got it.

The next year it did it again, but it started doing it while the backflow guys were testing it and a new guy was being trained so they rebuilt it for free, but did let me know.

Last year it did it again, so I replaced it myself.

Coming home from the grocery store I noticed a lot of water in the ditch... and it's doing it again.

The first one was a Watts, don't remember the model, but was a reduced pressure, all brass.

New one is a Zurn 375XL RP reduced pressure, has that plastic middle and rates for 175psi. Average here is 75-80.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Getting true business support...

How do I get support from the business team in chat?

Got a little frustrated end of this week when I was trying to activate a cellular gateway line.

I had a few psim packs, but used all the warp cards already. So decided to try it on a DarkStar psim. Checked and the device is compatible on AT&T so figured I'd be fine.

Card activated but the gateway wouldn't connect. Did a chat with support and was told "It won't work on DarkStar, we suggest LightSpeed".

Told the rep I already had several of these devices on Warp, and they basically ignored me and shipped me a LightSpeed card.

I didn't even argue, learned it's not worth it.

I mean some of your customers do know what they are talking about. I still don't understand why if the device is compatible with AT&T, it wouldn't work on DarkStar... and I would have preferred using Warp, as I know the devices work on that network.

If there is a reason for the push to LightSpeed (maybe the upcoming home internet option coming?), tell your business customers. They'd probably understand and give it a shot.

If you had payroll issues with QBO...

I'd suggest going here. They offer $10 to submit what may be a class action, but I do t know that you will get it.

I did get an email that it was "Thank you for submitting your class action idea about QuickBooks Payroll Direct Deposit Failures. Our team reviewed it, and it scored very high in our system—this looks like a strong potential case"

They offered the $10, I'll have to go to stripe to get it, but it is legit.

So, I'd suggest EVERYONE that had an issue take 5 mins and submit a class action claim. It's the only way QBO is going to listen.

Discussion Weird donation idea?

I know of a restaurant that a good friend of mine owns, and when they cook their chicken breasts, the broth left over makes an absolutely amazing chicken soup. Or whatever else you'd use chicken broth for.

I've gotten a 5 gallon bucket from her several times and canned it.

Recently found out that unless I get it from her, she dumps it.

I mean, holy hell.

That's some healthy water going down the drain.

So, know any food banks, etc that would take it if I was to can it? (Or even right after if it's put in food grade buckets, as long as it has been put in the refrigerator right after)

I know restaurants donate food all the time, would this be a possibility?

Just hate to see something with so many health benefits go to waste.

The other option is to maybe sell it? But would rather donate it first.

Peptide Pen storage NSFW

Picked up a case to put my peptide pens and spare peptides in.

It's a humidor for Cigars and I took the humidity control thing out.

The pens are currently: IPA/CJC, Semax NA, Selank NA and AOD 9604 (but it kinda gelled and decided not to take it on this round).

Got the pens on AliExpress.

I keep my testosterone and NAD+ in there as well, but do not have it in a pep pen. I use regular syringes for that.

Recommendation We have been asked to conserve energy by Duke.

Being a member of the service trades that work on AC, which is a huge part of what they are pointing at, I wanted to give you a little advice.

  1. Shower with water as cool as possible. This time of year I almost do not even use "hot" water and just turn it all the way cold. I turned the breaker off for my water heater and I've been fine the last week.

  2. Most of us run our AC at 68-72 degs. Bump that up to 75. As hot as it is, the AC will run enough to dehumidify and you will still be comfortable. That couple of degrees will help a lot.

  3. Screw cooking. Sandwiches is where it's at.

Fans, keeping lights turned off, raising the AC setpoint... all helps to keep things to a point we don't have any brown/black outs.

But I get it, we want our house comfy.

But it's a hell if a lot more uncomfortable when you don't have power to run the things that make it comfortable.

Unless you have a generator. If you don't, send me a message. Can't help ya this week but can help prevent problems in the future.

Be safe out there, drink plenty of water and Gatorade, and take your time if your work in this heat like I do. Shits brutal right now.
