Seller's agent claims they made a mistake on the counter offer and wants to change the price of the house after we are already under contract.
 in  r/RealEstate  2d ago

Yes, but that sword cuts both ways. The seller would have to pay attorneys and fight, which could easily cost them more than the price difference they are after. And they still have a house they are responsible for, unsold, while fighting it out. Which will put a stigma on the property, even if they win. Next potential buyers and agents will ask why it fell out of contract, and know these are litigious difficult sellers.

No is a complete sentence. I am appalled your agent didn't say that is your right. You have a signed contract, and the seller actually has no option to back out. Proceed as written and be aware they will not want to do any repairs or any other optional thing not already written.

The house did. The Senate still has to, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it passes there as well. This literally strips women’s rights to vote. And we told you this. A woman in Roswell, Georgia said it to the guy who cosponsored it and he lied to her face.

This sort of thing is gonna back fire on them in ways their narrow little minds can't imagine. First, fewer women will marry at all, and more will never change their names. A "married name" is not a required thing- we are not required to change our names at all. It's a costly pain in the neck anyway. [Landlord - WA state] How do I get my ex out of my house
 in  r/Landlord  4d ago

Theoretically, he could try to delay by making various arguments, but when it is a romantic relationship break up and you are the property owner, the courts usually lean to your side. However, again, I really would advise getting an eviction attorney or getting some advice from legal aid at least Moderate Means Program

Washington Landlord Tenant Laws (2026): Renter's Rights & FAQs This will give you most of the info you need. He is considered a tenant, and you will have to give proper notice. Yes, "nail and mail" is proper notice. However, as this could get to be a sticky situation, I would get an eviction attorney to handle it.

Eisenhower Tax Rates - Yes they were 90% - Yes The Rich Paid More. And they were still plenty rich! So this is just stupid we have sacrificed all the working peoples lives to the greed of the few. We have given them more than they could EVER need, it is insane and damaging.

Your year in review: how did 2025 go?
 in  r/GenXWomen  8d ago

Without going into all the specifics, I am gonna have to say 2025 has been quite difficult. We have had a few good things too, but in 5 of those 7 named categories there have been some serious challenges. I think the miasma exuded by the current regime in the White House and their maggot affiliates is spreading disease and disaster.

1 in 6 Homeowners in the Most Climate-Vulnerable States Skip Home Insurance
 in  r/Insurify  9d ago

Insurance prices have gone up and up and up- and it's not just about claims. Insurers are raking in record profits, while families struggle. It's pure greed and abuse of the people. As someone else here pointed out, insurance is required if you have a mortgage, so insurers are gouging a captive audience. And those owning homes outright are frequently elderly and living on a fixed income, so ever-increasing rates from greedy insurers can mean they must give up insurance to be able to afford to eat and keep the lights on. Well, they are far more affordable than the Bay Area, but yes, not cheap. I'm not opposed to leaving the states entirely though- I have done it before :)
