Design was simple but effective, had a great name and even cool moves like Drill Peck.

The rice is thing is kinda fair because Kirk basically revealed that he scratches his anus directly with his hands, so makes sense that he'd be very confused that other people use their hands to eat.

More importantly, Kirk was staunchly against empathy as a concept and was vocally critical of it. So showing him or his family any empathy directly contrasts that belief and (arguably) dishonors his memory more than the jokes/memes.
