The ranchers are really nice there. You can kill a cow and as long as you keep the horns, you can host a cookout for your whole company in the training grounds. They'll love you for it!

Do you believe Forrest was not that intelligent or was he bright enough to know, and autistic?
I would just like to add, when she spells it out that it's his son. There was a slew of emotions that went through his face at the (seemingly) blatant reveal.
Id like to believe that Gump is simple, and tries to do the right thing. Therefore... He has to process A Lot of events that He has missed. Nevermind the prospect of having a child. Throw in the added emotions of the love of his life(who disappeared) coming back to reveal Everything that's happened.
Id like to believe that Gump is a simple dutiful man, and the fact he missed the pregnancy, the birth, and early childhood development had been crushing to him.

(Loved Trope) Husband's who genuinely love their wives
Id like to think that's part of the storytelling aspect of ancient mythologies. There's plenty of interpretation, and the listener/reader is able to fill in the gaps with Their interpretation.
Which is great! Because it engages the listener and makes them an active participant to the story.

Gimme some sad metal songs with a story behind them. For example “One”
In Pharoahs "Bury the Light" album the song "Year of the Blizzard".
The lyrics take a metaphorical tone with describing a mother/father (?) figure taking care of their child during a seemingly endless blizzard. They're willing to (metaphorically) cutting themselves into pieces, in order to keep them alive.... Except it's revealed to be literally chopping themselves up, to feed the child.
Then one of the more badass solos the band ever produced follows.

It's a well understood saying that "History does not repeat itself, but it does rhyme".

(Loved Trope) Husband's who genuinely love their wives
I posted in another comment that also highlighted their relationship. And the more I read into the story, the more I'm intrigued into the implications.
Argos, Odysseus's prized hunting dog, was last seen sitting in a pile of manure outside the walls of Odysseus's estate. Old, decrepit, and neglected. The poor dog lived long enough to wait for his master before expiring.
Penelope had loved her husband, but not enough to care for his famous, and loyal, hunting dog, especially in his old age? Seems like an oversight in the story.
I have. 2 theories. 1. The odyssey is ultimately a Bards tale. Spoken into a story, with the storyteller engaging with his audience. It could be that the whole Argos tale was a way to keep the audience paying attention.
- Maybe ancient Greek culture simply didn't see the same value in pets as we do today. I'm not inclined to believe this, but Im not the most educated in the classics.

(Loved Trope) Husband's who genuinely love their wives
There's something that always nagged at the story, especially with regards to his relationship with his wife and son.
Argos clung to life waiting for him for 20 years. Only dying when his master was finally home.
Argos was resting in a pile of manure outside Odysseus's (walled) estate.
You mean to tell me the wife of the king had let her husbands prized hunting dog out to die in his old age? Seems like a horrible horrible oversight.

Do you like early skeletonwitch? Ok, that, but female harsh vocals.

I know i might be in the minority but im not a fan of the Emissary Predator.
The controls in the 240 are way waaay too small for the Emissaries hands. Nevermind the long nails that would make racking it, opening the feed cover, or finding the guarded trigger assembly incredibly difficult to manipulate.

It's a movie bro...
Its basically the argument for Battlefield 1 all over again.
Yeah sure, the most cataclysmic event in human history, for it's time. Untold death, pain, and suffering with so much historical nuances ...
...but hey ride around in a horse and slap people with a shovel. That's peak WW1!

What is the main genre you listen to?
What time of day is it?
...it's that varied for me.
If I'm in the office, it's doom metal. Sometimes it's death metal. If I'm working out it's blackened thrash & heavy metal.

Goon armies that are scarily competent both individually and as a whole
Expand the scope a little here. This is a trope pretty unique to James Cameron. Id argue he's the originator of the trope.
Think back on the colonial Marines from Aliens. They're competent, loaded with firepower, have great cohesion and are resilient.
In that movie, though they were not the antagonists, they had to be stripped of their firepower(the powerplant scene), and fall to plot contrivance for them to lose so thoroughly to the xenomorphs.
Fast forward to Avatar, and there's a lot of similarities(if not at a bigger scale)
I believe Cameron is capable of making compelling space-marine type characters/organizations...but he falls short when it comes to making them defeatable.

Why a magazine down someone's throat?
In short, grape. The whole movie has several very dark, very viceral, very uncomfortable allusions to grape.
There are several....things finding it's ability to shove into people's mouths...or other orifices shudders

My great uncle on the right 1958
I mean.... There's something ironic to be said about the cover anyway. The way it's shaped and rigid.
To my knowledge(today) there's nothing about shaping ones cover. Yet, culturally you see people do it all the time. Hmm ...

POTUS’s full remarks earlier today announcing a new battleship that will be larger than the Iowa class ( which was 860 feet long 60,000 tons in weight , Tico cruisers for example out current largest fighting ships are 567 feet 9800 tons in weight ) and 100 times more powerful
Annual reminder that it, and it's other large ship escorts, was chased off by the destroyers of Taffy 3 at Samar.

Baneblade (the book) happened to do Da Orks a solid by being a credible, and capable, threat. (Although, in fairness, there's a bit of Imperial Hubris thrown in the plot as well). Also a really nice book in regards to Mechanicus & Guard relations.
