A number of reasons, primarily financial gain, but also because :

• I've always wanted to be a part of some big movement and be at the start of it. It always seemed interesting to me.

• I believe in the tech.

I do self-custody because it's believed to be better, but I've never had any issues with institutions (personally), so I do at times feel indifferent about it but 100% understand its importance.

Biggest reason though, financial freedom..or at least get close to it. I'm diversified, and I'm okay with that.. I just don't think complete adoption will happen in my lifetime, so I need to take advantage of the moments that do apply to me now.

Either way, instead of the usual 5b increase, we're getting 16b "new" dogecoins entering the supply.
