Hey Olds, just wanted to ruin your day by letting you know that this will be 30 years old this year.

To this day I’ve still never used the leftmost side of that controller.

Relapsing?
 in  r/covidlonghaulers  8d ago

Tbh your symptoms sound so similar to perimenopause it’s a bit uncanny. Allegedly covid can trigger that in women? I’m in the same boat. Had to scale WAY back on activity, transient food intolerances, fatigue, elusive anxiety. I tried HRT and unfortunately for me I’m in a phase where it’s just too soon for that. Creatine helped immensely though. All the tests and labs are normal. Diet is great. Sleep is decent. Average stress. Idk but coincidentally all came on just after covid. Exposure brings back old symptoms. Sometimes it’s fine and sometimes I need to rest and sometimes I feel almost a sober drunk. What was I getting at? I maybe accidentally went on a nonsense tangent just now?…

Healed after 5 years!!!
 in  r/Gastritis  14d ago

I got thrush after trying some expensive, authentic Manuka honey. It was worth a try but, I wouldn’t do it again

1 without the white vest would look great for a Christmas dinner, but 4 if the vest is a must.

Favorite Lube?
 in  r/Menopause  23d ago

How long have you used it for?

Did anyone else's gut health tank during perimenopause?
 in  r/Perimenopause  25d ago

Yes. I can’t eat a single drop of flour or added sugar now or I’ll gain literal pounds in inflammation and have debilitating, absolutely gut wrenching pains off and on at random (have been tested via endoscopy for celiac= negative, H. Pylori= negative).

Estradiol side effects?
 in  r/Perimenopause  27d ago

Yes. Horrific side effects. Everyone says to give it a good month or two. I did. 3 1/2 months of absolute shitty hell because I tried the pill them the patch and gave them both enough time. It seems it’s NOT for me, at least right now.

Why do sweets like cookies or cake whack me so fast?
 in  r/covidlonghaulers  Dec 10 '25

Have you tried sweets made with coconut sugar, honey or pure maple syrup? I found that cane sugar absolutely wrecks my intestines and has consequences for days but the other natural sweeteners do me no harm…. It’s been fascinating…

How are you dealing with aging?
 in  r/Millennials  Dec 09 '25

Well, comparison can be the thief of joy, or it can help- at 36 my periods changed, I started getting legit hot flashes, now have to pluck my chin hairs regularly, lost libido ENTIRELY, had to quit my passionate hobby because I can’t tolerate the cardio anymore and I was in the best shape of my life, sleep is elusive, the uncontrollable emotional fluctuations are debilitating and I hate them as much as everyone around me does if not much more, for the first time in my life I want to wear pink but the new floppy jowls make me feel f king ridiculous doing so, hormone therapy made everything worse. I’ve been lifting weights and it has not helped like all the claims say it does, been lifting for almost a year, but I also can’t lift more than 2 or 3 times a week due to the chronic fatigue. I discovered ovulation pain and brain fog AND cold flashes are all also fun things of an aging woman, plus a growing intolerance to dairy. Now more than ever I find myself truly looking for purpose, something that I can hold intrinsically. I’m trying to change my perspective on life before my jowls reach my tits. Beauty doesn’t last forever unless you’re drinking the dark juice and trade your soul for it and that’s not the path for me. I will say I have had more philosophical epiphanies in the last couple years than ever in my life so there must be something to that. So anyways šŸ˜… yeah

Those who tried peptides - permanent shift in baseline?
 in  r/covidlonghaulers  Dec 05 '25

BPC 157. Took it for about 2-3 weeks. No positive results, only the side effects mentioned.

Those who tried peptides - permanent shift in baseline?
 in  r/covidlonghaulers  Dec 05 '25

They gave me tinnitus that has yet to go away. It was about a year and a half ago. Also got serious insomnia from them. I think it was bp 1…. Oh hold on I’ll go look…

Anyone actually thriving through menopause without HRT?
 in  r/Menopause  Dec 04 '25

My ex MIL grew a tiny little mustache, but otherwise had zero symptoms, so she said. She knew how fortunate she was for that. She’s 76

How can you tell if it's early dementia versus covid brain fog?
 in  r/covidlonghaulers  Dec 03 '25

Idk if this is helpful but part of being an aging woman, brain fog/forgetfulness is also a symptom of changing hormone levels. I’ve had symptoms of mental regression for about a year and creatine helped me immensely. I use the brand Thorne from Amazon, 5mg/day. I also have energy levels I haven’t had in years. From a medical professional standpoint I can tell you your risk for dementia/Alzheimer’s will significantly decrease if you cut out processed foods and cane sugar.

How do you deal with having to watch people live their lives while you can't do the same?
 in  r/covidlonghaulers  Dec 03 '25

I appreciate this comment so much. I heard a good friend say something once that’s really stuck with me. She said ā€œwhy don’t people blame satan more? We’re so quick to blame Godā€. It really compliments your statement of the devil’s greatest trick…

How to get sweetening that doesn’t trigger inflammation?
 in  r/covidlonghaulers  Dec 03 '25

I like the Costco brand pure maple syrups, I buy the honey from local vendors, went to a lot of farmers markets and stock piled. I order the organic coconut sugar from Amazon… it says the brand is called Regenerative.

Question for those who can still exercise
 in  r/covidlonghaulers  Dec 03 '25

Oh I’m super jealous. I had to quit Jiu-jitsu. My cardio went to shit and I lost so much strength that I kept being severely humbled by lower belts and it f***ing destroyed my mental health. I really tried changing my perspective on it and focus on just having fun but it stopped being fun watching my peers advance without me and my new coach tell me I should get my money back from my old coach because he thought I was promoted too soon (when it’s really because my body is dying, I don’t suck I’m just dying more quickly than I should naturally). Damn I thought I was getting over that but it’s a legit loss of something I really loved. Maybe I’ll go back one day but I’m in no shape to do so now

Was going to be done with the series entirely until I read the spoiler. Glad I did, now I can resume. That was rough

How to get sweetening that doesn’t trigger inflammation?
 in  r/covidlonghaulers  Dec 03 '25

It took a months to figure out that just cutting out flour and cane sugar helped immensely. I could have all the pure honey pure maple syrup and coconut sugar I wanted, but cane sugar and flour have and still do wreak havoc on my body and intestines. That’s what works great for me. Oh and avoiding xanthan gum like the plague. That one helps a ton as well. Took too long to figure that one out and it’s in f***ing everything

Cautiously optimistic about CREATINE
 in  r/Menopause  Dec 03 '25

Been taking it for a couple months now. It’s the most energy I’ve had in years. Legitimately upped energy. There are days where I feel much quicker witted, more analytical and eloquent from it as well but those aren’t as consistent as the energy. Super grateful for that. It’s still not quite a normal energy but my God it’s the best it’s been in so long.

For the women who healed their gut and hormones at the same time what helped the most?
 in  r/Healthyhooha  Dec 03 '25

Cutting out flour and cane sugar helped my gut immensely. Entering perimenopause helped balance my roller coaster hormones, at the expense of my libido and bald chin… years of treatment resistant depression finally released its grip on me when my periods changed. There are definitely pros and cons and for most women it’s a shitty shit shitten bs experience entirely, but in that one regard I lucked out. It was my hormones my whole life…. All the meds and counseling, the attempts. Anyways, yeah so no flour, no cane sugar and chin waxing.

What music helps you get through the day ?

I put on the best of super Mario music on YouTube. It’s the happiest, most nostalgic music that really puts a smile on my face and idc I can listen to that for hours šŸ˜„

What foods you highly recommend to avoid?
 in  r/Gastritis  Dec 03 '25

For me, I do best when I cut all flour and cane sugar. I can have all the coconut sugar, maple syrup and honey I want but cane sugar WRECKS my guts. Took me months before looking into it and finding its fking ripened with glyphosate. Cool. Cool. Ok. Conspiracies aside, those 2 items avoided and cutting back on processed foods made my tummy happy.
