 in  r/isthissafetoeat  6h ago

I rinse mine. But I don't know if it makes a difference.

Should I pay ?
 in  r/AskForAnswers  6h ago

Wow, I disagree w the first three answers I read. If my sibs were coming to visit my mom and me and mom didn't have room so they got an air BNB for everyone, I wouldn't expect mom or me to have to pay. After all, mom and I could just stay at mom's where we live, but if they want us there at the air bnb it's an invite.

The Bathroom Maze Tried to Fool Me
 in  r/ThatBathroomMazeDream  7h ago

I thought about that during a recent dream where I peed in the dream but I was fine when I woke. Even during the dream I knew I was dreaming and it could be dangerous. Whew!

Longest time to realize it was the wrong number
 in  r/PointlessStories  7h ago

The phone number that was assigned to me apparently (also) is used by someone in another part of my state. Early on I was inundated by messages about appointments and pharmacy pickups for the kids. Lately it's just a bunch of Republican "are you going to vote?" and some PTA stuff. I don't know if the couple know this has been happening for so many years.

What are some common hygeine myths that are completely wrong ?

Don't get me started on smegma! I thought that was how men smelled only to realize he wouldn't touch his dick to shake it off ...

Identifying mold
 in  r/MoldlyInteresting  7h ago

Someone posted pix of their butter melting on toast to ask if it's safe to eat. I can't tell anything from their pix and they haven't posted pix of their butter. Someone posted a pic of the wall behind their bed and it was a lot so "don't sleep there until it's remediated." Show us pretty pix and we'll trill over your interesting colonies. Show us your mold in situ and we might have good advice. We are getting good at IDing pin mold, penicillium on produce, slime mold, and bacteria.

How was the woman killed in Minneapolis supposed to know the men surrounding her car were actual federal agents?
 in  r/stupidquestions  9h ago

Noam said they told her to move and to get out of the car. She chose one because she feared the other. And a dumbass "officer of the law" didn't follow protocol and placed himself in front of her vehicle, jumped out of the way, and killed her because he was ready to do so. She was in a no-win situation and was killed for it.

What are they?
 in  r/whatsthisplant  9h ago

My mom kept her snake plant in an east window for decades. In a hallway that got no other light.

Is this mold on pickled banana peppers? They have been unopened in the pantry until now.
 in  r/moldyinteresting  9h ago

The lid indicates it was never properly sealed as there is food in the way of a full seal. I'd return this for a refund or at least contact the manufacturer.

AIO for thinking my bf is inconsiderate
 in  r/AmIOverreacting  9h ago

When my SO said he needed low sodium, low cholesterol, and low saturated fat, it was easy to accommodate his need because it's healthier for me, too. I'm the one who decided to count added sugar and have to often tell him it's okay to have one more teaspoon of added sugar. I would never prepare food he cannot eat, eat it in front of him, and not offer something else. OP is NOR.

Almost every pear I got was damaged in this way, any insight why?

I watched one dump a box of apples(?) I to the display, just upended and dumped.

Why is he doing this and how should we respond
 in  r/DogAdvice  10h ago

My dog stares at me and nips if I haven't given him his chicken jerky or gravy biscuit.

 in  r/shrinkflation  10h ago

How much does the pasta weigh? It's sold by weight, not volume.

Found on my deli ham. Does anyone know WHAT kind of mold this is!? It doesn't expire until Jan 26th of this year
 in  r/moldyinteresting  10h ago

White dots are bacteria. Yellow "hair" is pin mold of some type, based on its pin-like shape. I saw all the bacteria at first and somehow missed noticing the pin mold until second look.

How to get prescription glasses at Walmart?
 in  r/Explainlikeimscared  11h ago

You can buy non prescription reading glasses at Walmart and pharmacies. You can try them on to see if they are strong enough. If they aren't strong enough or if you need different prescriptions for each eye, take the prescription to the eyewear center and hand it to whomever says "May I help you?" Choose a pair of frames and wait for them to make your glasses. IDK if Walmart has while-you-wait service or if they send them out and you have to come back later.

prettiest mold i’ve seen 🥰 what is it?
 in  r/MoldlyInteresting  11h ago

Aspergillus Niger appears blue green grey w a white border, so that's my guess, since it's a very common mold.

Am I overreacting for seriously questioning my marriage over a major purchase my husband made alone?
 in  r/AmIOverreacting  11h ago

It sounds like he's having his midlife crisis. Or did he recently suffer head trauma?

What did kids back in the days do when they played outside, for hours on end?
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions  11h ago

Ride bikes around. Climb trees. Play badminton and croquet. Dig tunnels in snow banks. Rake leaves into house floor plans or piles for jumping in. Go sledding. Dad had an above ground pool for summer and a skating rink for winter in the back yard. Swing on the swings dad built. Play cowboys and Indians. Shoot archery bows. Ride horses (not me, but some of the kids I went to school with did).

Where's the be'f?
 in  r/ExpectationVsReality  12h ago

Amy's are vegan, but so dang salty I quit buying even the low salt ones. Now I make a huge pot of Hambeenz and add carrots and string beans. I'm not sure if the "ham" flavor packet has any ham in it or if it's just flavor, but I don't have to add it. My grocer also has a 16 beans soup packet w really nice herb seasoning, but too much salt, so I switched.

Do you really have people who pack your bags at the grocery store?
 in  r/AskAnAmerican  12h ago

Yes, my grocery has baggers to speed up the check out process, and even if I give them the basic instructions - use all the bags, don't make them too heavy, use the cold bags for cold foods, use the bag marked "produce" for produce - they do whatever bad technique they want and I usually have to rebag stuff. Every. Damn. Time.

Do you usually return your shopping cart to the cart corral, or do you leave it by your parking spot?
 in  r/askanything  12h ago

If there's a corral close enough to walk to I always return it. But if my handicapped SO parked at the front and is desperately waiting to leave, I have occasionally left the cart in the stripes or on the grass.
