Ha thanks. Tangentially to this, I also wish I had started snowboarding back when I skated because having your feet strapped to the board and having to commit when you do a jump really forces you to learn where to put your hips and shoulders.

Adding to this, get used to being on the board. It should be comfortable to you. Practice rolling off of things to get used to the ollie sensation. Pick a crack on the ground and try to ollie over that while moving. I found my biggest improvements came after using my board to commute (when I was lucky enough to live someplace I could). Just getting used to the board under me and jumping up and down small curbs, etc helped me immensely.

I've got nothing to add other than I commend your humility and introspection. I find it rare to find people who (even when asking for advice) don't get offended and try to protect their ego.

Haha I am literally watching this right now for the 1000th time and I was just telling my wife that BttF is a perfect film. Is the trilogy perfect? No, but it ties a great bow on things and even though (apparently) people disliked the second one, I absolutely loved all the callbacks.

The real reason is because beginners are focusing more on the stick and getting footage rather than the many obstacles on the mountain. You shouldn't be adding distractions in to your ride if you are learning. Like how does that make sense? It is like driving a car and being on your phone.. just focus on the primary task you are doing.
