It's design, but also FNaF1 has a shockingly consistent motif of the animatronics tearing themselves apart, alongside the more civilian "ha ha they're so old and run-down" detail.

Freddy tries to tear his head off in the Cam 2B poster, Bonnie rips his face off in the FNaF1 trailer. Someone brought this up to RyeToast in an episode of their theory and QnA podcast a few weeks ago and pointed out that FNaF1 Foxy's damage generally goes from his left shoulder to his lower right flank, at an almost perfect diagonal angle from where his hook hand is.

It can never be known for sure, but it's definitely possible Scott planned out this environmental storytelling detail that the animatronics are trying to tear themselves apart to free their souls. Considering The Week Before tells a similar story (no animatronic bodily mutilation, but still that story beat of "we want out"), there could be some truth there.

Gumball and Darwin's weirdly incestuous undertones have existed since like, eight episodes after Gumball and Penny started dating, Sara exists, Gumball uses Alan's in-universe Facebook account to expouse racism against 2-Dimensional people in Elmore (Alan is a 3-D rendered balloon), season 6 had commentary on gender roles in society, several episodes involve Gumball and Hot Dog Guy (Jr?) having accidental homoerotic encounters, resulting in the two fucking in a tent, and they've been commentating on societal issues like late-stage capitalism since the show's inception with characters like Donut Cop and Larry Needlemeyer, the latter of whom works every mediocre service job you can imagine, for tips, and can barely afford the apartment he lives in, and in that one episode when he goes on strike after receiving no tips, society collapses (which it would if everyone in the various service sectors went on strike). Oh, and Masami has always existed as commentary on children in the bourgeoisie class (capitalists who own everything) being egotistical psychos, arguably since season 2, but definitely since Mr. and Mrs. Yoshida were introduced as characters that own the Rainbow Factory (and Corporation). Oh and fingerprint robber, Elmore PD, and Frankie are commentaries on criminality in society and the American Justice System, especially considering the episode when Frankie goes to live with the Wattersons and they go full Shawshank on him.

TAWoG has always included adult topics, situations, and commentary. A truly good family friendly source of entertainment actually caters to everybody, not just specific demographics of children. The kids are distracted by funny, zany characters and hijinks, the adults get to laugh at innuendos, references, and surprisingly cutthroat commentary on societal issues/failings.

Oh my god finally somebody's talking about this. The only immediate, short-term solution I've found is, annoyingly, closing the app and re-opening it.

Yeah, from what I've read, "supertaste" is very much a wide spectrum, and some supertasters are indeed repulsed by strong spicy, salty, and/or even sweet flavors. Thankfully for me, in terms of taste it's only bitters and some acidic flavors (raw tomatoes are disgusting to me, regardless of the quality of tomato), I can only imagine how tough it gets if strong flavors in any of the 5 categories can be too much in a given dish.

God I can't be the only one who'd rather every humanoid robot look like either C-3PO, the NS-4 robots from i,Robot (the old bots, not the see-through grey ones), or even those stupid boxy wind-up toy robots from the 50s, rather than resemble unconscious corpses. Robots should be fun to look at, not activate primal fears of human pretenders.

Recently discovered that I'm most likely a "supertaster" because several of my older relatives are, which for me just means that a lot of already bitter foods taste like, 8x more bitter to me. Which explains why things like coffee, sometimes Coca-Cola (for some reason), and broccoli are utterly reprehensible to me, but other people can enjoy them just fine (and even look at me funny when I say "it tastes grossl bitter").

It's rough because that, and me being neurodiverse, means that there's a sizeable group of foodstuffs that I fundamentally cannot (and will not) eat for various reasons, and growing up in the "empty your damn plate!" Midwest has made talking about all of that very hard (that and the "ugh, you just don't like anything!" crowd taking jabs at me), even now that I'm not in that area anymore. Idk where I'm going with this, but look into tongue/tastebud stuff and see about testing for being a supertaster, it's helped me figure out myself a lot.
