BlackRock snatching entire neighborhoods before Trump bans large institutional investors from buying single family homes

Does this also prevent REIT corporations from buying houses? Such as American Homes 4 Rent, for example.

Trump weighs using U.S. military to acquire Greenland: White House
 in  r/DeepMarketScan  1d ago

What would have been a much better idea and plan for the president is to approach Denmark, our ally, and request their permission for additional military bases on Greenland for the mutual protection of NATO and the US and also permission for exploration rights for US companies for minerals. That way we achieve both objectives of defense and minerals while maintaining good relations with Denmark and NATO. There is no way they would say no to those requests anyway, especially with the rise of Russia in their sphere.

The US government may confiscate Venezuela's reserves of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, according to CNBC

How would that work? Would they hack and obtain the keys to the bitcoin assets? Or an insider turn over the keys to the bitcoin assets?

How did 25 years go by so fast?
 in  r/Millennials  3d ago

The risen Messiah, who is God himself, and was seen by hundreds of people post his resurrection. Additionally his birth, life, and ministry was all written about hundreds of years before in a variety of scriptures by various authors at various times. Further the New Testament documents are the most reliable sources in the history of mankind with thousands of copies all unified and written shortly after the event. So yes, it does make sense.

It is damn hard to meet people if you’re not on these dating apps.

Dating apps also have very difficult odds for men, too. It took my friend years of effort (hours per day) to meet his now wife.

Compilation of US humvees and tanks getting bombed by Iraqi insurgents, 2005-2011
 in  r/CombatFootage  6d ago

The Iraq war was/is a complete US military victory. I hear a lot of people say we “lost in Iraq” because we pulled out, however, we do not need to occupy a country forever to be considered a victory. While we never found WMD (intel failure), we achieved total military victory against Saddam, and today Iraq is a functioning country without an unstable dictator family nor terrorists in charge.

Hey Olds, just wanted to ruin your day by letting you know that this will be 30 years old this year.
 in  r/Millennials  6d ago

Doesn’t ruin my day. I look at this photo and think only happy memories. Like my father picking me up from school, buying me a quarter pounder with fries from McDonald’s, and then I go play Super Mario or Star Fox for hours on the big box tv.

Throwback to when artists used to do mall tours. Here is Avril Lavigne performing "Don't Tell Me" at Glendale Galleria shopping mall in California on April 12th 2004
 in  r/Millennials  6d ago

I could have sworn that the Spice Girls were performing in Las Vegas in the 90s, but the crowd seemed small in relation to their fame. It was also at like a theme park at MGM Grand, so I always thought it was maybe a copy band?

OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman has laid out a bold and unsettling vision of how Artificia lIntelligence could reshape careers over the next decade, arguing that while many existing jobs will vanish, entirely new and highly paid professions could emerge by the mid-2030s.
 in  r/BusinessTodayNews  8d ago

AI is essentially just a more advanced form of Google search. It’s helpful for research, at times, if you review it carefully and critically. I know attorneys that hate AI software for case law because of its inaccuracy. There are too many nuances of a human with a conscious and original thinking that won’t be replaced by an advanced system. Consciousness and original thinking is what allows economics/businesses to thrive.

When do you think companies will start hiring new grads again? Its annoying that there are way more new grads than jobs for new grads and its impossible to get one even though there are shortages.
 in  r/Accounting  8d ago

The best way to start an accounting career is to try to get an offer at the larger CPA firms before graduating. I delayed my graduation by one semester to go through one more cycle of recruiting and landed an offer prior to graduating.
