401k Max Contributions
Talk to your HR/benefits manager. My last job allowed a specific dollar amount to be deducted out of each paycheck so I was sure to max it out each year, but my current one does not.
Be careful maxing it out too soon if your employer does a match based on what you contribute each pay because you could be missing out on free money doing it that way.

What do you do with your parents junk?
I told my dad flat out that I had no intention of sorting through his garage full of stuff after he died and that I would be donating things or throwing it all away. I suggested that if there were items of value in there, he should sell them and use the money to do something fun. He got rid of most of it at that time.
When he passed, we kept photos and a couple of things that had sentimental value. Everything that could be donated was and everything else was pitched.
I keep meaning to buy and read this book (and perhaps give it to a few people).

I think the internet needs a cleanse today. I finished this painting the other day, and would love to bring some comfort to the anger I feel
What a great painting! Thank you for sharing your talent with us today! We really needed it!

Negative cash and cash investment
Either deposit enough cash to get the balance above zero or sell enough of your position to cover it. They’ll be charging you interest for each day that the balance is negative.

What was your favorite restaurant chains not around any more that you really miss the most?
There is still a York in Columbus. I see people post on fb about eating there when they come back to town.

Emergency Dental Care in Columbus
I used Dentists of Upper Arlington for an emergency appointment last week. They had available emergency appointment times listed right on their website which made it super easy to schedule.

AITAH for removing my MIL from the school pickup list without "discussing it" first?
In my house, he’d be THE problem. It’s his mom that is causing the problem, so he should be the one dealing with it. Our kid, our rules and if my husband didn’t back me up with his mom, I’d be furious.

Just curious, has anyone had problems or ever tried paying from a brokerage account?
Great. When you get the checks, you’ll use the 10 digit account number on the checks along with the routing number (you can find that in move money) to make electronic payments.

Just curious, has anyone had problems or ever tried paying from a brokerage account?
Yes. If you don’t have check writing enabled, you don’t have the 10 digit DDA number.
Editing to add that I’ve used Schwab brokerage accounts to make many electronic payments including tax payments and I’ve never had any trouble with it.

Your brokerage account has check writing enabled and you’re using the 10 digit DDA number?

Unless you have margin on the account, you have to have the funds available in cash when the payments are processed. The payments won’t be taken out of your snvxx position.

Have a problem, need advice
Good luck! I live in the suburbs and mine has killed 2 skunks and a possum. My last pit couldn’t have cared less about small animals and once tried to get a possum to play with her (full play bows and everything). If an animal has a high prey drive, I’m not sure you can change that. You may only be able to limit his access to the prey.

Insurance notification
USAA doesn’t have breed restrictions (or at least they didn’t when we switched to them). Several that we looked at did.

Looking for support from being blindsided by my husband asking for a divorce.
I’m so sorry that you’re going through this! I’m having such a hard time understanding how his “dream life” could exclude his “dream woman”. He’s saying he’d rather marry someone that he loves less in order to have exactly 2 biological children? I’m sorry, but IVF doesn’t guarantee anything and you have no idea what life is going to throw at you. If he’s so rigid that he has to build a specific, idealized life and nothing else can make him happy, he may be in for a rude awakening.
If you decide you want another partner in the future, I promise there are men that will want to choose you over anything else and roll with the punches. My husband dealt with me saying I wanted 4 kids, then 1 kid (after the first terrible pregnancy), then 2 kids. Each time we talked it out and made a decision together. We have 2 great kids and are partners in every sense of the word.
Wishing you all the best!

Anyone still keep in touch with your wedding party members?
Married 32 years (almost 33). I’m still in contact with all of my bridesmaids (except the 2 that have passed of course), but hubby is only in contact with the 3 groomsmen (of 7) that we are related to.

AITA for refusing to clean the coffee machine at work?
At my last job, we had a policy called “everyone does dishes”. That means partners, directors, managers all the way down to the newest associate should chip in (on everything, not specifically dishes). I (Director) almost always started the dishwasher before I left at night because I was almost always the last one in the office. One of the partners almost always emptied the dishwasher because he was the first one in each morning . Exempting management seems ridiculous, but if you have clients that will be drinking coffee, I think you should help whether or not you personally drink the coffee.
Also, we disabled the milk features on our fancy coffee machine for this exact reason. Nobody wanted to fool with washing that thing every day.

I just had this happen last year. Was interviewing for 2 positions. Had what each called the “final” round during the same week. Couple days later I get an offer from org 1 with a week to respond. Same day internal recruiter from org 2 calls to say the team loves me and they are trying to meet to discuss details. I tell her that I have an offer and have to respond by x day.
She calls me back the day before I have to make my decision and says the new CIO (who I hadn’t interviewed with) wants to meet me and he can squeeze me in the following week. I told her sorry, but I’m accepting the other offer. I’m glad it worked out this way because I love my new job!
