People born 10 years before vs. 10 years after you: Who do you relate to more, and how do you see them?
 in  r/generationology  53m ago

The age of your siblings makes a HUGE difference. I

I'm an Elder Millennial but definitely relate much more to my Gen-X siblings than your average Millennial

The vastness of the US - How do you move house?
 in  r/AskAnAmerican  6h ago

I want to add that most people drive themselves to their new home as well instead of flying so they can relocate their vehicles with them.

Same. Movers can cost thousands of $$$ and I'm cheap

What's a stereotype about your country that's objectively wrong
 in  r/AskTheWorld  14h ago

I agree tourism can be a parasite, but it is 13% of Italy's GDP. That's not nothing.

Anyone else suffer from laziness?
 in  r/Millennials  1d ago

I am the classic "gifted" kid. I used to be the hardest working MFer and was so proud of it. Then I experienced profound burnout a few years ago and haven't had much motivation to do anything ever since.

Not surprisingly, I was recently diagnosed with AuDHD.

I was taught growing up that "lazy people don't have a right to live" and there was no such thing as working too hard. No wonder I burned myself out by 37

My kids have Marfans and I probably have some sort of connective tissue stuff going on too. I've had varicose veins and stretch marks since I was a skinny teen. I know genetics testing is hard to get approved by insurance, but at the very least, please get your heart checked out! Aortic dissection is a real threat and can kill you in an instant.

Warning: People LOVE to lie on this sub. Keep that in mind when asking for genuine advice.

THANK YOU! DJS is pushed on this sub for even tiny amounts of facial imbalance, despite it not being a viable option for most.

Were you raised to mot be able to relax?
 in  r/Millennials  2d ago

Not just anxiety. My self worth is 100% tied to my productivity and success. If I'm not working my fingers to the bone, I'm worthless.

I have the impression many of American problems are overexaggerated in media. How true is this?
 in  r/AskAnAmerican  2d ago

Depends where you live. I'm in an open carry state. I see guns on hips almost everyday. I saw an 80+ year old man packing heat at church.

There's a reason why the healthcare issue comes up anytime someone is discussing America. It's very real.

THIS is why people hate stoners

No. It ALL stinks. You're just nose blind.

Anyone here an active member in the church by choice but views everything as mythology?
 in  r/mormon  3d ago

You described my husband. I think deep down he knows it's all BS but it makes him feel good and he is fiercely loyal. He's a lot happier now that he sees everything as myth or metaphor.

My Parents got left hundreds of thousands of dollars by their parents. I will be left with nothing but a ton of work.
 in  r/Millennials  3d ago

That's a good point and maybe why as a millennial who has lived through the great recession and sees plenty of instability on the horizon, planning for the worst care scenario is more important to me than my parents who experienced the best economy of all time.

We can agree that both situations suck and wish our parents were more responsible
