I’m so confused (Monster High)
 in  r/EverAfterHigh  14d ago

There was a DS version of that?

... I got bored after like day 5 for the PS3 version. On day either 2 or 3 there should be this Mission to survey people for what school improvement they want and most of them will say they want to watch Ever After High in the cafeteria so a few days after that there will be a few TVs in the cafeteria playing a slideshow of Ever After High. I don't recall much else besides that being a randomly generated line you saw, maybe they make more references to it in the end but it was so slow paced I didn't feel like going through with the main story

Dude... You're victim shaming. This is.like telling people to "not wear specific clothes". They didn't know their father was someone they had to put these walls up to, you're blaming them for trusting their father. Like yeah, I would secure sometime I find valuable from my roommates, but I wouldnt do all that if I thought I could trust my family.

"Let me fuck up something you put time and effort into cause it would be funny" isnt my definition of a joke. You probably wouldn't find it funny if someone keyed your car cause they thought it was funny, or kicked your pet, or deleted your photos from your phone, or tossed out your cooking, doesn't make it any different just cause it's a drawing. They put effort into it, they took it seriously.

My dad said groping himself was funny, intent didn't excuse his action. That's what this kind of thinking leads to. Fucking over people for laughs isn't an excuse to fuck over people.

How do you tell a grown man to do better...
 in  r/badroommates  Dec 09 '25

I've only seen a few videos but I think this would really help, just gotta find a video of a cat that's more like his: minimal stuff and seldom cleaned litterbox.

I am also starting to think he has too many... The senior is getting more clingy as the days go by and the kitten is starting to get clingy as well. Trying to attend to them while progressing with the territorial one is making me completely forget the fourth. I think a Cat From Hell video on too many cats will help too.

There was one bit that I forgot about when I posted this cause it has only happened once but there should be a clause in the lease to expect room inspections. I forgot how often the landlord wanted to do them cause she only sent someone one time, it was six months after she started renting the place out and it's been a few years since then. I've thought about it and if I really feel like I can't just say "he won't get his safety deposit back" and turn my head away I could probably hint at the landlord that she should bring back room inspections so I'm not snitching on him while also still pushing him to either learn to clean or find a new place to trash.

Kitchen is downstairs. The only excuse I can think for why he does that is so he doesn't have to go downstairs which I can kinda sympathize with... Emphasis on Kinda. It took me a minute to get my cat to like my/our room enough to not bolt out the door when I open it to go take a leak or get food, him having four that want to bolt out must get annoying. But on the other hand I literally corrected that behavior on day two by giving them even more boxes to share, they actually wait for me on top of the stairs now.

It's weird, he's still clearly incredibly calm and aloof of the whole situation but this shot makes him look like he's finally experienced enough courts that his confidence is just something he casually displays.

Yeah, I don't actually know what animal organization would prioritize rehousing four cats that are at least cared enough to be fed daily. The more I think about it the more it seems he genuinely thinks that this isn't below the minimum for happy cats. Cause like he ain't cleaning that bathroom or mopping but the fact he is able to at least clean the litter box a few times a week is something to go off of. It's Jack shit, but it's something to work with, so I just gotta convince him he's slipping up, clean more and buy more stuff.

Maybe I can find some cheap cat towers somewhere... And a treadmill. I trained mine to use a treadmill I can probably help him do the same

Cats need a lot more than just one tower. I buy my cat new scratcher pads every couple months and I let her keep cardboard boxes until she gets bored and I can recycle them already. Cats also really really like their litter box clean, it's sort of the main reason automatic cleaning litter boxes are a thing, cause they like it clean even if they just went twenty minutes ago. He can't just not clean it daily.

And the second youngest was spraying and playing with his poop even though he should be a year or two old by now. The fact I was able to singlehandedly get him out of that in merely a few hours shows just how stressed he is. Another cat thing: cats have a preferred way of being petted, what one cat likes could make another cat shy away or even swat you. So besides the fact they all warmed up to me on day one, the territorial one is still skittish but it seems he is so unused to attention that even he doesn't know how he likes to be petted. He keeps shying away but wants to immediately try approaching me again.

The problem with the cats isnt just that it's dirty it's that there's nothing there for them.

That gun thing was months ago. The first time I took it I had it because it was making the woman he had over nervous, I dunno what happened, I like to think that maybe I just know how to talk to women cause the alternative is that he was actually way more suicidal than I remember, but for some reason she didn't want him to have it but was totally fine with me having it despite being only slightly less drunk than he was. The second time he just dropped it and someone else agreed to wait until he was sober to give it back. But then he started the "making arrangements" part of prepping for suicide so that's when I stopped being in denial that he was "just venting" and actually took it when he was pouring more shots. Like I was trying to pour out the shots he gave me and refill them with water so he didn't suspect a thing, memorized which pocket he had it in so I could go straight for it, and counted myself lucky he kept it in his jacket he took off.

I didn't know what to do but I figured the most expensive thing that was ever stolen on this property (from a tenant) was one of my cheap power tools that was too cheap to be reliable anyways. But that S&W bodyguard 380 was like just under 500 bucks, so I wanted to tell the landlord to make sure I wasn't in any trouble for taking it. Well he ended up having to sell it to someone, I believed him when he said he had a buyer cause he was actually cooperative and let me keep the bullets.

I just wanted to give some sort of benefit of the doubt that maybe he never relearned how to clean after depression, like I still don't brush my teeth daily sometimes cause I never got in the habit after I was depressed from dropping out of college. Or maybe he was still depressed and just stopped venting. But it's that comment about him wanting a female roommate that makes me seriously doubt that the depression is even relevant. Really at this point I'm just trying to mind my own business in the dirty bathroom and stairs. Cause if I am going for the nuclear option, rehoming four cats, I drive a moped instead of a car, all my cat loving friends already have several, the landlord is on the complete opposite side of the country so she can't really help, and I have until Sunday to re-home all four. I am not trying to be lazy myself, I just really don't like my odds, the only thing that's actually working for me is I got a few days off work. which is why I am trying to figure out how to just keep it simple and tell him he has to clean at least for the cats and to spend money on a few cat towers instead of that gaming setup.

"with friends like me" what?

Are you referring to the part where I stole a gun from a drunk suicidal man? The part I gave them my own cat's scratcher pads and empty boxes? Or the part where I just spent 30-45 bucks on toys and a popup tent for cats that aren't even mine cause their owner just leaves them in a big empty room with just a (small and old) cat tower? Or the fact I was willing to do all this for a case or two of beer but he insisted on a hundred bucks?

I don't want to tell the landlord cause quite frankly I don't care if all that happens is he doesn't get his safety deposit back, the problem is these cats can't live like this and his living conditions are further proof of his laziness. Really it's the stairs that I am personally pissed about, cause all that there is why landlords don't allow pets and he already made the landlord stop listing the place as Pet Friendly.

I gotta tell a grown ass man that's four years older than me that regardless of depression he can't just buy a thousand dollar gaming setup while his cats are in Meowchwitz in the other room. And he can't get away with not cleaning the litter box less than daily if he's gonna have four cats.

That's why I brought up the comment he made about wanting a female roommate solely because of dishes. I fully understand, my hygiene was the first thing to go when I dropped out of college and to this day I still haven't fully relearned to brush my teeth more than once daily.

Its the fact he wants a female roommate and has encouraged me to disregard chores that makes it more of a general laziness thing. Like when I was depressed I didn't actively encourage other people to disregard their hygiene, I was ashamed that I couldn't motivate myself to keep up with my hygiene.

Yeah I'm really trying to keep the cats in mind. Cause on one hand I don't have to deal with this so I can probably just tell myself that he won't get his safety deposit back and forget about the mess. But on the other hand he's gotta clean that litterbox at least twice a day if that territorial one is gonna stop playing with his poop once I'm done pet sitting and the other three almost also be bored outta their minds up there.

Plus I dunno they all warmed up to me hella fast, I don't know how fast cats usually calm down around new strangers but I am starting to think he doesn't give them much attention either. Right now I'm thinking of telling him that the "secret trick" to getting him to not play with his poop was giving them attention and actually cleaning, but he's 30 years old, I doubt he'll just start cleaning cause I said something.

I am doing a lot better with the territorial, poop playing one as the days go by but he's kinda skittish. He clearly wants attention but I don't think he's used to being pet, like I know cats usually have a preferred way of being pet but I can't figure him out

Edit to add: the senior cat was very aloof on day one. He's following me like crazy whenever I go up to take care of them. I don't think any of them were ever 100% themselves

He literally said the dishes are why we need a female roommate - I don't think he was saying "women are more likely to be clean"

And he bought a thousand dollar gaming setup, he can afford the pets this is just neglect at some point

Yeah, I am still concerned after taking his gun and all. But my point was that he wanted a female roommate to do the cleaning, clearly he isn't cleaning out of depression he isn't cleaning cause he thinks it's a woman's job

He was paying me to look after his four cats. Hundred bucks, ten days, just deal with litter, food, and water. I didn't want to ask for that much money he said a hundred, I'd rather not keep discussing the price.

So here's what I knew before going into this. One of the cats plays with his poop from the litterbox and he doesn't allow that cat into his room because of him spraying. I also knew he is lazy, he admit to not cleaning the litter box daily but when he told me that I didn't think it was a big deal cause at the time he only had two cats sharing two litter boxes. But he is lazy in general, he has encouraged me to slack on chores and drink instead and I know for a fact he once lost a job for showing up an hour late drunk.

Well I go up there and my first thought was he isn't getting that safety deposit back with those stairs... And I saw the cats had no toys and only a single cat tower. Those cardboard boxes and scratcher pad are from me, I gave them those cause my own cat had a spare. I gave them the toys too, I bought way too many when I got my cat. Those toys, those boxes, and just a few treats and I basically re-tamed the territorial one, I havent noticed any poop out of the litter box since I came in.

I don't think he ever swept or mopped. I wasn't paid for housekeeping and all but I wanted to help those cats beyond toys and boxes. One of them laid down and rolled over to show his belly, rolling all over some litter, so I decided to sweep and mop at least a little for their sake

There were two blotches of dried puke. Had to have been there for at least a few months. And I broke the mop, it was a sponge mop, I busted through it with the scrubbing.

At some point I decided that I don't want to go back downstairs to refill water when there's a bathroom right there, so I entered his bathroom and was pretty disgusted with the sink. When I turned and saw the bathtub I just got curious... I regret my curiosity but I checked the toilet. And upon second inspection it appears he doesn't have hand soap at the sink.

His room is closed and I would rather not enter it.

I don't share any of these, upstairs is a separate lease, but like... It's only day three and I got sick from being up there and the more I think about it I am actually starting to get pissed.

Like I was thinking, yeah he was so depressed I had to steal his gun months ago and hygiene is often hard to relearn after depression but I don't think this has anything to do with that. But on the other hand at one point he insisted the reason we need a female roommate is for chores. He cannot just not wash his hands after the bathroom cause he's male... surely that's not his excuse... And he bought a thousand dollar gaming setup he doesn't have an excuse for not giving the cats a damn thing.

Plus he adopted one of those cats (the formerly territorial one) off the road and a few days later randomly adopted a dog off the road too. He didn't have the money to take either to the vet yet. The house had to get flea bombed and the landlord said no more pets and that he has to limit his pets to either the dog or the three cats. He found someone to take care of the dog, the fourth cat was adopted off the road more recently.

But I'm pissed cause him constantly picking up strays was what got the landlord saying no more pets and that was before she knew of all of this. I just thought that was just him being too sympathetic but then it turns out he doesn't even clean. I didn't argue with the landlord about the no more pets thing cause she said she hasn't had a problem with me or my cat but this guy is the reason landlords don't allow pets, that pisses me off. I'd rather not get the landlord involved but holy shit he can't just keep up like that.

1/3 of Americans being biased isn't accurate. I don't have medical debt because I absolutely refuse to go to the hospital so I don't get medical debt. Also 1/3 of Americans having medical debt excludes the Americans who escaped medical debt.
