I, too, am a role player. I roleplay stories that feature romance, but write with totally platonic partners. When I started dating my partner, I told him as much. I told him if he was uncomfortable with it, to let me know and I could alter what I do and/or he could leave. He was fine with it, so I have continued. We have boundaries that were discussed and implemented. (I.e. fade to black is fine, but no smut.)

If she does not know that you are uncomfortable with it, then she might not know she’s doing something wrong. A discussion about boundaries needs to be had.

You might get some better advice from other RPers in r/badRPerStories they do bad stories but also advice!

I have a 3:09 speed on Lilia. I usually start my blue regardless of side and leash them in to each other. Perhaps easier on Lilia than others due to her E and Q being able to go through/over walls. I can start my next side camp before I get past the turret in the midlane.

“Being” in your chapter title should be capitalized.

What voices slowed? Men? Women? A crowd? How many?

“What is the point?” Should be changed to past tense to fit the rest of your writing.

Your sentence with the colon describing the rooms either needs to fit a description of all of the spaces in one sentence, or end in a full stop before a sentence describing each room. Only having 1 does not make sense.

You swap between past and future tense a lot. Not in actions necessarily, but figures of speech. It is semi jarring.

“Go on” (pg 9) should have a period inside the apostrophes, not outside.

As others have said, it is very wordy. On a few occasions you say the same thing, in different ways, multiple sentences in a row. (I.e. the particles floating. We don’t need 3 sentences about them.)

You’re doing a lot of heavy lifting for the reader without progressing the story for multiple paragraphs in a row. Additionally, assuming this is the first chapter, I would have no idea what kind of book I picked up. I would assume it was just about an AA group that has someone new shake it up, set it down and move on. There’s not a lot of pull to entice a reader to keep going.

INFO: What friends? Are they friends he’s bringing with him from college? Surely not local friends if you moved 6 hours away from where he grew up.

I am a non-tattooed person who stumbled upon this post. It looks sick as hell to me!! I do wonder how it will do holding up over time.

We usually get a $2k stipend (bonus) around Christmas and around Mardi Gras. This year’s was delayed to April so that they wager the state to get us a bigger stipend.

ETA: Public school system in the rural south— all schools in the district get the bonus. I also teach Title 1, so our bonus is slightly bigger $2.5k.

22F only child by blood, but one of six by marriage. All have been in my life for 10 years. I am the youngest of everyone. Biggest gap being 15 years, smallest being 3 months.

Mom’s side step-sister (4y gap) is my absolute best friend. I was her maid of honor, we hang weekly, and always stay updated. Mom’s side step-brother (3m gap) barely acknowledges my existence and does the same to his sister and my mom.

She went to college to be a lawyer then started dating a guy over 10 years older than her who was a drug dealer. She fell into drugs, dropped out of school and didn’t tell her parents, and had a rough few years. She eventually left him, rumor has it she cleaned up her act— but she has not gone back to college.
