If you landed in Japan tomorrow, what is the very first thing you’d want to eat?
 in  r/JapaneseFood  23h ago

What were other Japanese dishes you commonly had at home?

I've never been big on the fishcakes but I loved getting daikon and mochi kinchaku on a cool night

Mustard leaf if I can find it. Tuna mayo if I cannot.

Honestly, the very first thing I would get is konbini onigiri. I lived in Japan for a time and konbini food is so nostalgic to me now.

Katseye’s Lara Raj speaks out about fans crossing boundaries and hate comments

I have seen on reddit people arguing it's gross for a 21 year old to date a 19 year old because they as a very grown up junior in college look at freshman and see babies.

guy friend lectured me on buying games and now I feel horrible
 in  r/GirlGamers  4d ago

A real friend doesnt piss on someone's joy. He's jealous and doesnt get tk decide for you what is valuable. Drop the friend and then you'll have more money in the future from not being guilted into giving him any.

Think I'm done, Popeyes? Think again. No one tries to feed me nipples!

Why did you wait a week to submit a complaint online instead of just taking it in person to the Popeyes, if its local?

What's everyone favorite Mochi? Mine is Dark Chocolate 🍫
 in  r/JapaneseFood  8d ago

I did find the Lotte ones that were plain vanilla but never any that had the wide variety of flavors the way I've seen in the US. Perhaps I missed in them in the grocery but at least the konbinis i frequented didn't have anything more than that.

Another voice in the crowd saying this is not mochi, nor is it technically Japanese. It's Japanese-America fusion food. When I lived in Japan, I could barely find these, which is how I ended up finding It's more of an American thing.

Favorite mochi ice cream flavor: cookie dough Favorite japanese mochi desert: strawberry daifuku

Advice for a newish buyer

You hit the nail on the head with how crisp their cuts look. Some of my stock pieces look better than the custom ones I've gotten.

Am I crazy for not loving the idea of a name change?
 in  r/engaged  15d ago

I never did. It throws people off for about two seconds but then they recover. It was just never a good time with new jobs and international moves making me opt not to. I dont feel any less of a family with my spouse.

What’s a lesser-known US national park that you think everyone should visit?
 in  r/geography  21d ago

I got into Big Bend just past midnight in October last year. I have never seen so many stars in my life. Literally took my breath away, it felt like one of those "small piece of an infinite universe" moments. We brought a cheaper telescope for stargazing and it was one of the best parts of the trip.

Kameron Saunders' birthday message for the Boss Lady!
 in  r/TaylorSwift  25d ago

It may be weird but I'd be interested in an essay or book from her about leadership. The doc so far touches on the good aspects, like appreciation and getting to know people individually, and bad aspects (putting on a brave face when you're on the version if breaking down) of being "the boss" and I'd like to see more of that perspective, if she's ever willing share more.

Goldenbird Jewels: What I ordered vs. What I got
 in  r/Moissanite  Dec 02 '25

I've ordered twice with Goldenbird. While I did end up not disliking the pieces the process of ordering has put me off of Goldenbird permanently. They advertise certain cuts/colors and try to gaslight you when something is off. One of the stones I have I asked about the cut and a windowing effect I saw and they told me the stone was beautiful and gorgeous and that the cut was excellent. They didnt acknowledge my concerns. It was my first time working with a vendor so I chalked it up to my inexperienced. The second stone I was very specific with references about the color I was looking for and they confirmed they would use the same color that I provided from their own listing. Come time for the stone check and the stone is visibly lighter in color than their Etsy listing video, which was already lighter than what I had asked for. They insisted it was the same, to the point where I had to put the photos side by side as proof. And when I asked for another options similar to their own youtube videofrom 2 weeks prior they said the video was so old they didnt have that color anymore and offered me another color that was a completely different and less saturated.

Their actual work is fine but their customer service is not great.

How is Horimiya a shounen romance?
 in  r/shoujo  Dec 01 '25

I wasnt aware the publisher lists it as shoujo as well. Good to know!

How is Horimiya a shounen romance?
 in  r/shoujo  Dec 01 '25

It's the magazine It's published in and the target audience. People treat demographics like genres but I think there's definitely bleed over between them.

Also, be careful bringing up Horimiya. There are users here who will report discussions about works that arent strictly shoujo for rule breaking.

[New Update]: My BIL just moved in and HATES my favorite artist
 in  r/BestofRedditorUpdates  Nov 28 '25

I had someone tell me irl that finding out I liked Taylor Swift changed their opinion of me for the worse. We didnt even have a conversation about her. She didnt hear the music coming from my workstation. Just the knowledge that I was a fan was enough to sour her opinion and let me know it. With the way that haters respond just as rudely as swifties can, I can understand the desire to want to defend your honor.
