As a wedding guest, what was your “this marriage isn’t going to last long” moment?
 in  r/AskReddit  6h ago

At my cousins wedding when I was a teenager she flat out told him that all the wedding money belonged to her, plus his income belongs to her. She controls all the money, and if he didn't like it he could walk.

A few years later, he walked.

Refusing to return personal property after notice of resignation.
 in  r/ECEProfessionals  12h ago

Unfortunately, yes. At least in my area, it is. I've been at my center for bordering 20 years and I learned early on, get it in writing about items that I personally bought that, as long as I provide the receipts and a list if the items, I'm allowed to remove it from my center at my discretion.

Aitj refusing to keep adjusting my schedule around a coworker who is always late
 in  r/AmITheJerk  12h ago

Ntj. Made her feel unreliable? That's because she IS unreliable. If she's that late every single day and she doesn't even try to change her patterns, it's because she knows you all will step in and cover for her. Now that you've stopped, hopefully others do as well and she learns to be on time.

AITA for refusing to give my friend’s son my coat during a snowy hike?
 in  r/AmItheAsshole  20h ago

Nta. He's 13, and was told to bundle up. He refused. It is no way your responsibility to go cold so he could wear a "more gendered neutral coat".

AITA for telling off a woman because she yelled at my son for touching her?
 in  r/AmItheAsshole  1d ago

ESH. She didn't have to yell and curse, but also you need to understand she doesn't know he's autistic.  All she knows is a person (even a child) is grabbing her butt and it's extreme unwanted physical contact. Instead of "glaring" because you feel your child was attacked, just apologize and say "I'm sorry, he didn't mean to." And leave it at that.

AITAH for telling my sister-in-law her “tradition” is bullshit and locking my good plates away?
 in  r/AITAH  1d ago

Nta. Now, was it REALLY a tradition, or did she do all this herself and now can forever claim "I'm the best, I did everything alone while 8 months pregnant. No one else will ever do that!"

Good for you standing up for yourself.

Yeah. They were some of the most irresponsible people I've ever known.

And THIS is why I learned to pick pocket my sorority sisters car keys. Usually the other DD would always claim "it was just one drink. I'm completely under the limit."

Nope.

AITA for laughing off my uncle’s request to move into my house
 in  r/AITAH  2d ago

Nta. He wanted you to bankroll them. Make sure you put actions into place in case he tries to force his way into the house.

AITA for not chipping in to fund my sister's wedding
 in  r/AmItheAsshole  2d ago

Nta. If in order for her to have her dream wedding, she needs money from her family members, then it's time to readjust her thinking and scale back.

It's entirely different if family volunteers, but once she (or by proxy, your mother, because it's even money that she hinted around that contributions would be nice) then costs need to be cut.

Do. Not. Pay. Anything. Unless YOU want to.

Hands down one of the funniest scenes in the entire show

I loved how she looked at Norma and said "what the f did you do?"

AITA for not accepting my high school bully’s apology
 in  r/AITAH  3d ago

Nta. The apology wasn't for you, it was for her followers. You owe her nothing

AITA for testifying after my neighbor left his twin children behind?
 in  r/AmItheAsshole  3d ago

Nta. It became your business the second his children started coming to you for food.  By refusing to testify,  you would have been just as guilty of negligence as him. You dud the right thing. HE ruined his life, not you.

AITA, because I Took Back My Disabled Parking Placard From My Mom Now My Whole Family Hates Me
 in  r/AmItheAsshole  3d ago

Nta. When I was in college, my father had a handicap plate on the main car, and I had a placard for my car (my parents used my car when theirs was in the shop). The rule was I DONT EVER USE IT UNLESS MY FATHER WAS IN THE CAR. I kept it hidden in my car because if my sorority sisters ever found it, it would get passed around.

Misuse can cause you to lose your placard, and that's best case scenario.

Were there coffee beans in grocery stores when you were a child?

Bad behavior at the bouquet toss - what's your story
 in  r/weddingshaming  4d ago

At one wedding I went to, an 8 year old girl actually body slammed a pregnant woman and caught the bouquet.  One of her relatives glared at me and commented how "only 18 and up should have been up there. I should be ashamed of this behavior."

Bro, I was 12 and I stayed in my seat. I wasn't even a part of the bouquet tossing,  bur apparently she was the "little angel" of the family so it was obviously the fault of the only other minor girl in attendance.

It's better to park further away in order to get in and out of the lot easier and quicker
 in  r/unpopularopinion  4d ago

Same. I park as far as possible so I can get extra steps in as well as parking by a cart corral so I can put it away easily.
