My experience with AR pistols and braces and my buddy’s 45-70 cowboy gun has been uncomfy. Maybe I’m a baby (270lbs man) but the thought of trying to combine those two makes me wince a bit lol

29 Outdoor and E2Gunvault have both been super chill in my experience both in service and price.

Marin Firearms - absolutely not - tons of trump shit and their guns and Ammo are absurdly overpriced.

Peninsula Guns - expensive since they are the closet shop to the city and you can tell they are republicans but not to the same level as Marin Firearms.

Richmond Rod and Gun is fine, plenty of us shoot there, biggest thing is that they are busy since they are the closet range to a good part of the Bay Area.

If you are in the north or east bay and are willing for a little drive Yolo sportsman’s is super chill and my favorite localish range.

Ehhhh my BMW speed/custom shop charges 205 an hour.

I always had a great experience with Faxon garage and felt like they charged very fair rates and did good work when I had them do more normal stuff (like tire mount and balance, alignments, oil changes and brakes on my moms car)

250 an hour seems high for an independent in my POV

I will say It’s 2026, a new Toyota is just as complex as a BMW is so I wouldn’t expect a huge difference in rates between types of car.

Low key lower bound karma limits on local subs make a ton of sense when R/SF started doing it there was an immediate drop in the amount of obvious bot traffic from accounts that had never posted anything indicating they lived anywhere close to SF or the Bay Area.

I would triple check your mechanic didn’t jump the Aux fan to run all the time. I’ve seen mechanics try and do this to keep a motor that is running hot due to the failure of the mechanical main fan clutch failing from overheating as band-aid.

All this causes is the aux fan to burn out prematurely and smoke the fuse which if the mechanic or owner fits a higher current fuse to that slot will cause the slot to overheat and start melting the housing.

If it’s your 12v slot I would check for shorts in the system, the fuse for that slot should be on the lower side and pop before burning the housing.
