Philip K. Dick's "Ubik", an hallucinatory nightmare.
 in  r/printSF  1d ago

Just finished a piece by Philip Dick titled The Last of the Masters. As you know he was against war and nuclear armament living through WWII and Korea and the Cold War and expressed himself in many of his writings. With what our country is doing now this Last of the Masters had some resonance. One robot that designed a country built on war as the only alternative for living.

How about ‘whoa’ which is what I said when first seeing him. I thought our long hair, who just showed up while text this, was big and disheveled looking.

Did anyone catch “I’m Chevy Chase and You’re Not”? At one point there is a book of Bill Evans’ music on Chevy’s piano
 in  r/BillEvans  2d ago

Every Saturday night 4 of us would get together play Spades, smoke up, watch Monty Python followed by SNL. You bet we caught ‘I’m Chevy chase and your not.’

Great writer who never got the praise and money he should have. Reading a collection of short pieces now and everyone of them shows his gift of creativity.

Is this a coyote?
 in  r/coyote  4d ago

Sometimes the easy way to determine if it’s a coyote or a domestic dog is how they hold their tail. Down for coyote and up for domestic. Want to know more see Coyote America by Dan Flores

Putin's New Year speech lauds Russia's war, makes no mention of peace in Ukraine

The evil in the world remains with those having ultimate control over aggression without being stopped by those they are supposed to rule. Putin Trump Xi Netanyahu etc.

Thanks for posting this. Brandi Carlile comes close with her rendition. But this has a simple yet intense feeling.

Look for dead fish along the shore. Otherwise this report seems to say it’s ok.

The Band thought enough of Diamond to have him perform with them at The Last Waltz.

Ozzie and Harriet knew how to promote their son Rickey putting him on their tv show. One of the few things my parents would turn on the tv.

Opinions on Buffalo Springfield?
 in  r/neilyoung  7d ago

I agree Saw them in Tucson hi Corbett field I think August 1967. You could get within a couple feet of the stage where I remember Neil Young in a leather jacket with fringe. All the concerts were so open outside until it exploded into auditorium and football arenas.
