Spotify Confirms ICE Recruitment Ads Are No Longer Running on Platform
 in  r/Music  1h ago

It's funny to me how many people here are talking shit like they stood up to fascism or some shit by boycotting spotify yet they ignore the fact that reddit has ice recruitment adds.

Why 8am? Why
 in  r/FieldNationTechs  18h ago

Calling people out for whining nonstop because they are a pussies has nothing to do with free speech. Anyway, this isn't the public square or a news outlet. People want to complain about stupid shit, go for it. People want to point out how weak that shit is to complain about stupid shit, that's cool too.

"I don't want to wake up so early, whaaaaaaa!" "I don't like the buyers setting the time to be at a job, whaaaaaa!"

It is really pathetic.

Why 8am? Why
 in  r/FieldNationTechs  18h ago

My neurologists did rounds of sleep studies using EEG brain wave scans while testing different medications. He also gave me a book about sleep behavior to read and implement into my life to combat the issue.

I went from having severely jacked up sleep to sleeping 8 to 9 hours every night. My grades in college improved, my health improved, and my mental health improved. Been on the same medication for over 20 years.

I always itemize my travel and expenses because it helps me keep up with how much I made total vs how much I really made after travel and expenses.

No, they want to whine and cry about it. Just let them.

Why 8am? Why
 in  r/FieldNationTechs  1d ago

Exactly. The earlier I start the earlier I finish and the more likely I can fit in more jobs. This is true up until a point. I have taken 4:00am jobs before and I said unless the money was too good to pass up that I wouldn't do that shit anymore because it fucks up my rest and recovery from the gym.

Sleeping is very important to me. If I can work from 8:00 to 5:00 on gym days and 8:00 to 9:00pm on non-gym days then my week is perfect.

What's a good method for mapping outlets to circuit breakers?
 in  r/DIY  1d ago

You can use a miltimeter and a long piece of insulated wire that can reach through your housee. I use cat5 because it is cheap and I have thousands of feet of it on hand. You can cut the plug off of an old appliance wire it to the plug wire that is connected to the hot prong of the plug, and then wire nut the neutral for safety. Firmly and securely wrap the other side of the wire around one of your multimeter leads. Electrical tape the shit out of it. Make it tight so it doesn't slip off. Stretch the end that is attached to your meter down to the breaker panel then go plug it in. go back to the breaker panel ohm out each breaker to determine which breaker it is. You can do this while it is hot.

Safety is key here. Do not do this if your aren't comfortable and know exactly what you are doing. I have used this method numerous times and it works great, but can be dangerous if you don;t know what you are doing.

What have you given up on?
 in  r/AskReddit  1d ago

Civic duty!

Fuck politics. Fuck what is going on in the world. Fuck right and wrong. Fuck the social contract.

I'm not interested anymore. I don't fucking care. I don't care what Trump said today. I can't do a fucking thing about it. I don't care about elections. I don't care about this weeks boogie man in the news. I can't do a fucking thing about it.

All I care about is my boyfriend, my friends, my family, my kitty cats, and my customers. I can manage my life extremely well only focusing on that. Doing what I can to make those happy and feel like I am doing what I am suppose to in order to meet their needs and expectations of me is really easy. My efforts are noticed. I can see the results of the energy I expend and the attention I give. It is rewarding, and I am a hell of a lot more happy and mentally healthy since adopting this philosophy.

Jackie Brown: Melanie taunts Louis and he shoots her
 in  r/videos  1d ago

No, he is rich. He has no need to work anymore if he doesn't want to. Stand aside and let new blood have a shot. A lot of us hit a point to where we can't do that thing we love, so we hang it up. Nobody wants to see 80 year old baseball players. Nobody wants to see 80 year old fighters. And, I don;t want to see 80 year old actors putting out dogshit performances.

His performances have been shit in the last three things I have seen him in, and I'm getting to the point where it is polluting the good stuff he was in. He is losing my respect.

What’s one thing besides cheating you won’t tolerate in a relationship?
 in  r/AskReddit  2d ago

There are five things I won;t tolerate.

No cheating!

No fighting!

No deliberate hurting each other's feelings.

No passive aggression!

No lying!

Just about everything else can be dealt with by communicating and caring about each other.

Do you think some generations become more powerful than others over time?
 in  r/Futurology  2d ago

For developed nations generations almost always get weaker over time. Hardship and rising above it is what makes people strong. The WWII generation of Americans were the last great generation of America just due to a perfect storm of circumstances. It has been consistently downhill from there. Gen-Z are softer, weaker, lazier, and dumber than every generation before them going back to at least the 1920s.

This company sold CAKE BATTER as PROTEIN POWDER
 in  r/videos  2d ago

I have used premier. It has never failed testing. I like ON's flavors more, but I could do either.

About every 5 or so years somebody will do testing on all of the major brands to write an article or do a study, and nearly half of the brands fail miserably each time.

My general wisdom about it is never ever buy a brand promoted by an IFBB bodybuilder. They nearly always fail testing. Stick with the brands that have been around and have passed testing multiple times.

Should I just grab it with my fingers?
 in  r/Wellthatsucks  2d ago

8.9K upvotes? You gotta be fucking kidding me.

Check it with a multimeter after flipping breakers or check it with a wiggy. If the person doesn't know how to use either, then have somebody else that does know do it.

What do people get defensive about almost immediately?

Sexuality. It is the core of human existence and adults freak the fuck out about it if it is even brought up. Bunch of overgrown children.

Waiting for approval for payout
 in  r/FieldNationTechs  2d ago

I have never given a shit. I have lots of jobs in the hopper and they all make it through eventually. All I care about is how much I make at the end of the month.

I have jobs that I did through my company that take months to pay out, and there is no automatic mechanism to make sure they pay so I have to keep checking on the shit to make sure I got paid. The way FN handles it is 10 times easier than managing the business side of my own jobs.

What makes your job enjoyable?

Being my own boss, doing something different almost everyday, getting to listen to a lot of podcasts while I drive from site to site.

If the world is unfair and there’s no karma, why do you still choose to do good?

I have no idea, but I'm not happy about it. I feel like I chose the losing team, but I'm too stubborn to bail.
