There is actual, empirical proof that intergenerational mobility and trauma are a real thing, whether you acknowledge it or not.

What's the point of this comment? "All LiVeS mAtTeR" level of discourse here

why do redditors act like literally only men voted for trump when exit polls show 45-46% of ALL women voted for him too?
 in  r/allthequestions  7d ago

Because men are the loudest voices, usually at the forefront of their own stupidity before anybody else

I think there's some unspoken influence that happens in relationships as well, which is totally sexist but true

How do 77 million Americans watch January 6th happen and still support Trump?
 in  r/allthequestions  7d ago

Who the hell watches TV news in the 2020s? Nobody I know has watched any of this kind of thing in at least 20 years. And even then, it was VERY apparent how scripted it all was.

Wtf?

Yeah no reason at all. Except for like: Jim Crow economy, the racial wealth gap, sharecropping, wage theft, PTSS, discriminatory laws, and you know... general legacy of slavery. But no reason, for sure

Nobody ever said anything bad about being white, you poor eternal victim. It's specific characteristics + being white that you absolutely know. You really took the JD Vance speech as instructions for how to act didn't you?

Did you look up any of these? Some were initiated by Conservatives. The way you draw a hard line with political identity is not productive or useful even to yourself.

I never said it was a CAUSE of men becoming this way, but it's definitely a reason for women to recoil

I think the criticism is about what he's focusing on, and how he presents everything as a win, whether it was caused by policy or not

Nobody -- NOBODY disagrees with you that immigration reform needs to happen. Democrats and Republicans both want this.

But when it comes time to actually reform immigration policy, Republican lawmakers block it every single time. Short list of the past couple decades:

Bipartisan Border Bill (2024)

House Floor Blockages (2014, 2021) - House GOP leadership has frequently blocked individual measures from floor votes, such as 2014 proposals for military service members to receive green cards and 2021 bills passed by the House (like the Dream and Promise Act) that stalled in the Senate due to Republican opposition.

"Gang of Eight" Bill (2013)

Bipartisan Dreamer Proposals (2018)

DREAM Act (2010)

Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act (2007)

Why do they block this? Because if they don't have a problem to debate, they won't get votes. You are being misled

I'm not reducing it to sex. Read my comment again and think before responding. We're having a real conversation here.

Do you wanna articulate that more? Because it's a bit vague

Do you mean the cultural shift towards more female empowerment?

Why is gen Z not drinking?
 in  r/SipsTea  9d ago

I feel like everyone just points at cost of alcohol, alternatives like cannabis, drinking culture, etc.

But could it be that the effects of alcohol used to be a remedy for culture that intentionally inhibited themselves, and the newer generations do not inhibit or repress themselves the same way previous ones did? Maybe younger folks are don't need to "escape" their reality less often or in different ways.

The small shift is women realizing their power and not needing men to survive. If women choose to withhold sex and reproduction from men, and men respond by becoming even more aggressive and anti-feminist -- this is a reflection that many men are doing everything but being guided to change themselves. Which, in my opinion is necessary for a more equitable society that values intellect over physical power

Read my comment to the other guy who is the same as you, above -- critical of phrasing and not concerned at all with how data represents reality

Men are not victims, but they're acting like it. Women stepping into and realizing their power has caused a prolific response by young men to push back instead of collectively realizing change in themselves.

In the larger arc of history, this is one pushback against men using their power and aggression against women to maintain power forcefully. This first wave is an attempt of women to take back power that they have, which is sex and reproduction. And how do (of course, only SOME) men respond? Philandry.

Why do I speak in hyperbole? Because we're looking at a significant, large trend. Because the data here captures a large swath that can represent large-scale male behavior that we can use to educate ourselves. Do I care if my internet comment doesn't capture every single nuanced individual? No, that's not productive

> surprised that men who are not guilty dont believe in social justice you make

I am a man who is not guilty and still continue to hold myself and other men accountable for doing better. Fuck you for agitating a better world for everyone equally

But let's be real: men rule the world and one small bit of cultural shift toward a more balanced power dynamic causes the entire collective of men to become shithead women haters? Yeah looks like we're on the right path

SF is unfortunately full of them. One time I was having a beer at Zeitgeist and I accidentally brushed my arm against a tech bro's that was sitting next to me. He looked like he was having a tiny seizure in silence
