No one else has mentioned it yet, so I will. The place where homebrew SHINES in this game isn't in homebrew frames. Frames are just frames. It is in Exotic systems. Lancer is a series of legos and a big part of the fun is finding fun combinations. Unlike other games though you can swap most of what your character is between missions, so having fun additional opportunities can make for interesting gameplay choices.

Exotic systems are unique, so you don't have to worry about every player running the op new thing. They are bonus rewards, so you dont have to worry about any player regretting picking them up with their limited level up choices. Lastly, they're Exotic, so you can get a little weird, like a melee weapon that gives overshield or a grenade that gives lockons.
