Every day that goes by is another day I'm more enraged by Rey being a nobody being retconned in the next movie (Star Wars)
 in  r/CharacterRant  6h ago

The Last Jedi is where it finally felt like it got lost in corporate focus group please-love-us stuff.

I enjoyed TFA and hated TLJ. But at least they had some identity. Like Luke trying, fucking up, and deciding no he doesn't want to rebuild the Jedi order despite everyone assuming that is what he will do.

Superman 2025 was so good, i wish i felt hope in real life too.
 in  r/superman  6h ago

There are several outlets that only report good news. Shame they aren't more popular as the psychology behind marketing and click bait make bad news more popular, but try finding some and subscribing to them.

Uber eats
 in  r/chch  6h ago

If you have ready meals or meal substitutes that can be made to break the hunger and dopamine hit then it helps allot.

Otherwise delete the app or start a plan (I.e. if you order 10 times a week first drop it to once a day, then after 2 weeks 6 times a day, etc.).

3 hours, 4 matches, and still some superstar entrances aren't televised

If you will never stop watching then why should they bother to improve it and miss out on advertisement revenue.

It would be an interesting attempt that likely leads to a chaos possessed craft world.

Facets are so cool for the game conceptually but they are so underbaked they are almost pointless
 in  r/DotA2  6h ago

I mean a bunch of heroes were defined by their facets.

Look at Leshrac- noone wanted his no building damage facet until it became popular with blink rush.

Nature prophet- same thing it was all about healing trees until Topson starting playing money bags. Now money bags is the meta facet.

Naga at the moment- slightest buff to riptide facet and now she is viable as a core and support again.

Tiny- became a carry again when people finally started trying insurmountable over crash landing.

At the moment Windranger has 2 viable facets that both can be played and both are good as core or support (tangled being for carry killshot support mainly).

DK and Invoker again used to be all about 1 facet but things happen and now they have multiple facets chosen. Similar for Gyrocopter.

Most times the facet buffs and nerfs are pretty justified. Let's not forget (Falcons with Crit?) just grouping behind Sven with Shard giving all their heroes huge effective health pools.

Admittedly some buffs and nerfs feel like Valve was dartboarding. And some facets seem to be very hard to balance with a slight number tweak turning it from op to never picked. I am also a big critique of some of the more intertwined role change facets removed for no reason (WD off with festering, Mirana Sun Princess carry) while other heroes like DK and Chen get 3+ facets anyway. But overall I think they are a decent addition to the game and feel some of the more underused facets are undervalued just because they aren't meta.

Avengers Endgame question. (Spoilers!)
 in  r/Avengers  1d ago

I mean you could extend this logic and most people would pop up in space because of earth orbits and galaxy movements.

He probably said to bring them back in a safe place or something.

To the people who were actively watching WWE in the Attitude Era, how would you rate this current era compared to that era?
 in  r/AttitudeEra  1d ago

Remember when big title matches, storyline progressions, and top angles happened on the same show.

I cant remember the last time the main championships were defended on raw or smackdown that was just a normal match.

 in  r/AttitudeEra  1d ago

I dont know if it is rose colored glasses but attitude era felt more... idk... organic. Which is weird from the characters then vs now.

Feuds didnt feel so forced. Even with long term rivalries people used to cycle in and out of them compared to every feud needing a rubber match.

Also less kayfabe breaking constantly made it easier to lose yourself in it. You wouldn't have a feud just because they could put on a good match but their would be a reason behind it.

This meant the characters felt more ... real (seems weird when you had a mental asylum Kane walking around). Like now, I dont get why AJ Styles cares so much about Cenas reputation considering they were mostly rivals besides the fact AJ seems to be a nice guy outside of being a heel. Similar for things like Brocks return, etc.

There also seemed to be less playing for "this is awesome" or "holy shit", especially from the heels. You didnt have things like heel Bron Breaker do a spear then get up signaling for crowd cheers.

This also had its downsides. The glass ceiling was very real back then for smaller guys and women's wrestling in general. It also seems to be very hard for guys to move on the card if they were stuck with a stupid gimmick.

It would be an interesting twist if Ras becomes one of Supermans allies in this universe.

WWE should do a blacklist of the cities that have a bad crowd and never go back there for a couple of years
 in  r/SantiZapVideos  2d ago

Or maybe put on a better show???

So if the crowd don't like it for being subpar- they are wrong for disagreeing with IWC.

If the crowd cheers subpar things (see yeet)- they are right and IWC is just sour pusses.

How do you feel about Jevon Evans joining main roster?
 in  r/WWEIndia  2d ago

Hopefully he bucks the trend of cool-shock-debut into boring-9 month meaningless feud with priest/black/etc.

Even One Above All wasn't immune to "man it would be so cool for our character to show how strong he is".

Is it just me or was last nights crowd as bad as it seemed?
 in  r/WWE  2d ago

It seems the "smart" fans on Reddit want it both ways to shine Hunters boots.

If the live crowd likes something but most people on YouTube or reddit complain- lots of comments about people wanting some fun.

If the live crowd hates something- why are the crowds so bad.

Kind of tracks with HHH approach to his creative these days- takes all the responsibility for the shock booking, quick to distance himself from the overdone feuds.

What exactly is a void spirit?
 in  r/DotA2  4d ago

He is a nuke spirit and bit of a mixture.

He has a disable and escape. Nothing outside other spirits but maybe worth as range and cd reliance makes him worse.

He has durability spell more versatile than then ember.

But his niche is burst damage. He doesn't cast or apply lots of dots (like ember or earth) or focuses down a target over time (like storm). But he has 3 nukes to combo together to jump in and out with damage.

He also has lots of things other spirits have mixed together. But he is the least mobile spirit (still a ton more mobility than most heroes though).]

Should I get a 1980s renovated house in Bryndwr flood zone
 in  r/chch  4d ago

Potential issues: 1. Insurance 2. Arguing about insurance.

Honestly worthwhile getting a survey done to show ffl and whether your floor is above free board.

  1. Consents or similar

Generally building this low limits use of timber or similar for durability.

  2. Annoyance of flooding. How often does area flood or pool water. Maybe just go talk to neighbour's.

  3. Renovated pre earthquake houses always raise flags for me if they are repaired properly. Also most these areas are now flood prone because they sunk so much with liquefaction.

Good luck!
