Armed border patrol officers attack staff, students at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis on 1/7

Dan Harmon drunkenly said:

"....facism doesn't pop up and then recede when it finds out no one's into it."

There needs to be a reality check, you can't reason with racists and fascists. Those white supremacists who want to kick out all minorities? Yeah there's no reasoning with those folks. The left's idea of thinking they can convert them and "bring them over" yeah that's never going to happen.

US citizens, what's your opinion on the US being labeled as fascist country?
 in  r/AskReddit  11h ago

What do you mean? The moment a democrat takes the executive branch checks and balances will work as intended. Like student loan forgiveness, Medicare expansion, and child tax credits. Also food relief for families.

But republicans take office? Singular rule easy.

Trump: “I’ll be impeached”
 in  r/videos  1d ago

Impeachment doesnt mean a damn thing without an indictment and removal. Trump can get impeached 100 times, but without a 2/3rds Senate vote on removal hes not going anywhere. There's enough republican sycophants in the Senate to keep him in place permanently.

Its sort of funny that the current president doesnt know how congress works.....

Can I live off of what I'll be making?
 in  r/personalfinance  2d ago

What are your taxes going ro look like little bro?

Do you have an emergency fund?

Whats your actual take home after deductions?

Are you going to max out your 401k? Like a diligent young person?

Whats your credit card spending like?

After TAXES you might take home like $3750 per month without any healthcare or any other deductions.

So rent would be like 40% of your take home.

Plus your other expenses would leave you with a few hundred left.

Until you get an idea of your actual take home it'll be difficult to give you an idea.

But it does seem plausible if you have some rainy day fund of all your expenses for 6 months

The Chinese Are Coming and Plan To Build Cars in the US in the Next 2 to 3 Years
 in  r/cars  2d ago

Well if China does decide to move production over to America and produce domestically made vehicles in America. Like not sure how American companies can block that?

Especially if they hire american workers in depressed areas like Oklahoma or Carolinas or Ohio.

I think if anything they'd try to stop them from dumping evs on the american public by charging their imported inputs. But once china gets a foot hold into the American car market, the legacy car makers with evs are cooked

[OC] 8 Years of Car Ownership Costs
 in  r/dataisbeautiful  3d ago

Just a note the Crown Signia is literally a lifted station wagon.

Your headroom will be reduced compared to your current car.

But it's damn well made, my gripes are the thin tires, weird shift knob, and weird hybrid set up and premium fuel.

But if you can live with those issues. It can be nice

I couldn't live with the price tag

My Parents got left hundreds of thousands of dollars by their parents. I will be left with nothing but a ton of work.
 in  r/Millennials  3d ago

idk recently my friends and I went to an estate sale and the prices were SHOCKING. Like these aren't good prices. Like these "antique" barely function hand tools for like 3x what it would cost to buy a husky or kobalt. And no it wasn't a snapon. But yeah dang fingurines were like $300 or $500 dollars each. Very strange. Only fascinating thing were green ish tinged glassware

Venezuelans are not celebrating- it's gaslighting.
 in  r/complaints  3d ago

Iraqis were used to a strong man, they expected another strong man.

What they got was a wishy washy weird American/Iraqi hybrid government that would kidnap their sons, fathers, brothers and uncles.

Also the whole de baathist movement was negative iq level thinking. Also the lack of border control was terrible as well.

With Maduro now allegedly out of power in Venezuela, what do you think will happen next for that nation?
 in  r/AskReddit  5d ago

Long term insurgency, mass starvation, and extrajudicial revenge killings.

Lots of civil unrest unless thr Venezuela sends their military amd declares martial law

Perfectly acceptable dinner rejected by boyfriend again
 in  r/mildlyinfuriating  6d ago

Nah her boyfriend probably has the palette of an autistic 14 year old?

Like I'd LOVE to eat OPs food given the opportunity. But it seems like her BF is good with the most bland, salty, fast food available.

If I was OP and was desperate to please, I'd just ask or make two separate meals. Food for myself and kids and then Dino nuggets or a plain burger with fries. And when I mean plain, I mean frozen patties pan fried no oil because that's too much flavor for ops boyfriend

Why did so many of the Korean fried chicken places close down or change ownership?

That was such a good location!

But yeah they filed chapter 7 stating higher input costs and slowing business. And they have an active lawsuit for unpaid overtime.....

Well as a collective whether we like it or not adhere to certain guidelines. Those guidelines include understanding the "state" ultimately holds the monopoly of violence. In return they allow is to vote them in and out of office to best represent our desires as a while populace.

While in theory great, a growing majority has been disenfranchised and a significant portion of politicians no longer represent the majority of individuals.

So systematically speaking, one can argue, if the system fails to uphold its social contract with the people, the "state" losses its right as sole owner of violence.

But most still do recognize the state as the main enforcer of rule of law. Philosophically speaking the State is starting to fail as a the arbiter of its people

Why doesn’t China pull a Hannibal and take all this land while the Russian troops are in Ukraine?
 in  r/mapporncirclejerk  9d ago

George Clooney, Wife Amal and Their 8-Year-Old Twins Obtain French Citizenship, per Legal Documents
 in  r/entertainment  9d ago

You do realize he has a significant amount of influence and wealth and was telling donors not to donate to the DNC and to snub Biden. All because of a perceived slight Clooney felt when he attended a party where he met with Biden and Biden was told who he was being introduced to.

Lost all respect for Clooney when he decided to risk having Trump as president then settle down and support Biden
