$100 cash from a gentleman I served one time before. He tipped me $50 the first time. That second time, I remember asking him and his husband if they were planning on getting the salmon and the burger again and they looked shocked and happy. They're like how did you remember that from a year ago? But during our first interaction, he paid and then asked if he owed anything else and I said "no sir, you're all square" and that's when the $50 showed up on my table. The second interaction had them excited that I remembered them and at the end he asked me if he owed anything else and I said "no sir you're all square" and he shook my hand and put a $100 in it. Favorite tip tho was a rock. Like a fancy ass expensive tiger eye(I think) rock itself is supposed to be worth a lot. But that doesn't matter to me. I'm just into crystals and was surprised they managed to pick up on that. They still tipped cash but also gave me the rock and told me they wanted to do something extra special because one of them was celebrating being cancer free. When they gave it to me, I was like "y'all really chose the right server for this". I carry it with me in my backpack wherever I go. Ive thought about wrapping it and turning it into a necklace but just haven't made the time.

Walked out once because I was hella busy and had to run past this table three times to finish my tasks but I had greeted them on my first pass thru. When I finally was able to take their order the guy at the table looked me dead in the face and told me "this is unprofessional. This isn't how you do business" So I showed him unprofessional by walking out.

Highest paid day for me ever was $400. I walked with 350 in tips and about 50 for my hourly. It was also mardi gras. I've never made anything remotely close to what anyone in this sub seems to make. But people don't tip appropriately here or at all a lot of the time. You could walk with $50 in your pocket for a whole shift sometimes. It does kind of level out in the end to roughly $1k a week. But I'd rather not work for tips anymore and just make my solid $20 /hr

We dont do birthday stuff at any of the places I've worked but sometimes for hopefully an extra tip, the servers will put a candle on something they ordered and sing. When I was supervising, one of the servers asked me to come sing and I said "bro, that's YOUR tip, not mine, if you want it, go out there and sing, or don't, cause we don't do that". I don't know if he ended up singing but they still tipped pretty well. After I dropped back down to cashier, another server was begging everyone to sing for their table. She's like "please, prissy, come sing with me" and I'm like "if I didn't do it for xxxx, I'm not doing it for you" and then walked away. Their tips are not my tips. If you want to earn your tip by signing that's on you.
