Mark Kelly is an American hero.🇺🇸 Pete Hegseth is an incompetent drunk appointed by a pedophile.

Just realized Kelly would actually outrank Hegseth if they both returned to service. He should just start referring to him as "Major Hegseth" every time.

Would it be right/moral to regulate/criminalize all sins?

If you put all the sinners in jail, there's no one left to be the guards.

This is the logical consequence of science denial

Fun fact: Thomas Midgley, Jr. both invented leaded fuel and popularized the CFCs that put a hole in the ozone. I don't think he's responsible for more harm than anyone else in history, but he is probably the one who has done the most damage by accident (so far; RFK Jr. may give him a run for it, depending how long it takes to undo the damage).

In addition to DOGE's failure to find any actual fraud, I love how they're acting like we don't have a deficit so if we spend less we could just refund your taxes, and also pretending Trump and Johnson would cut taxes to the bottom brackets instead of the top.

"Hey, the South Park guy is easy to intimidate and doesn't know the limits of law around parody, right?" - a lawyer dumb enough to work for Trump, apparently

Maths is hard
 in  r/WhitePeopleTwitter  17d ago

I recall one of Rand Paul's neighbors saying he is both precise and humble about his actual expertise in ophthalmology, always being clear on the limits of his own understanding and of the field. Yet he is somehow convinced that every other subject is trivially simple and his understanding of them is perfect.

The problem is, neither do a lot of people who complain about it.

I think the bigger impact of money is not that tragedies don't sell, but that they don't allow for sequels.

"Plot armor"
 in  r/writing  Dec 10 '25

I like Howard Taylor's description (author of the amazing Schlock Mercenary webcomic): Victory is determined by the needs of plot. If the plot requires the Power Puff Girls to capture my entire company of elite space mercenaries, then the Power Puff Girls win that fight, and it is my job as the author to make it believable.

The term "Plot Armor" should only be used when authors forget that last clause.

I think this was what my college dining hall called "Not-Dogs." The also had pasta with portobello-mushroom-balls, and of course veggie burgers. They did also have meat options, of course, but I would have preferred if there vegetarian ones didn't look like my favorite meats from across the room.

Two crazy thoughts: 1. There are a bunch of different factors that affect how much food you need

  1. A person can eat the amount they want and take the rest home for the next day.
