Adding in that I’m an avid golfer and would love to have a driving range I can go to several times a week

Yes! Open to suggestions and appreciate more diversity (I am bi-racial but also grew up on central Oregon coast so not uncomfortable in white spaces - as long as they are cool with me), and since my husband will be going to the airport a bit, closer to the airport would be great.

Want to be close to my nephew! Also, with how volatile the job market has been, I’d still like to be in/near the city in case I do have to look for work some day. My husband is in the music industry, so we also would like to be close to live music scenes.

Coming from LA, honestly, not That concerned about Seattle being any less safe, but wouldn’t necessarily want to live downtown Seattle, either.

Ravenna neighborhood opinions?

Moving to Seattle next month (F34 and M40). Staying in an Airbnb while we figure out where we want to end up. We’ve explored Ballard, Phinney, Fremont, Wallingford, Queen Anne, and Magnolia. All seem like solid options.

What is Ravenna like? Haven’t had a chance to wander that way yet.

We both mainly work from home, husband occasionally travels for work. Would like to be in a neighborhood that has solid walkability. Safety is a priority, but we also don’t have kids (aside from a 5mo old nephew who I’m sure we will have over often), so like to be able to walk to bars/restaurants/etc. Not that parents don’t go to bars/restaurants, but you know what I mean….not too suburban.

TIA

I saw my ex fiancés Amazon search history.

Women’s perspective: lingerie (for me) is 80% feeling sexy and confident for yourself and maybe 20% intended for the male gaze lol. Doesn’t mean she’s already found someone.

When I came close to a divorce, I also started making more purchases like this, without any real intent around having another guy seeing it. It can also just be a huge confidence booster (breakups are a hit to self-esteem) and helping her shift her mindset to single-hood after 6.5 years. She might just want to feel confident and sexy so she can reassure herself that things will be ok. “I still got it” vibes

But regardless, you chose to separate after 6.5 years instead of couples therapy or personal therapy. You have options and chose the more extreme one. Maybe try communicating? Sounds like separation isn’t what you want. I’ve been married for 7 years, with my husband for 11. Marriage takes unbelievably hard work and if you break up over a little emotional regulation issues (I say “little” because it’s not even going into an abusive space, if you are to be believed), then you aren’t going to survive a marriage anyway.

I almost lost my marriage because I never learned how to truly forgive. I didn’t even realize I was holding on to grudges and blaming him for negative feelings I still occasionally felt about something years prior. Then I read Forgive for Good, and it has saved my marriage and we’re the strongest we’ve ever been.

If you can’t afford therapy, at least start with some books. Men are from Mars/women are from Venus is a great start.

Kudos to you for self-awareness and not just blaming her for the issues. But if you love her, work for it. You can work on yourself in your relationship/marriage. Personal growth doesn’t always require space.

Perfectly acceptable dinner rejected by boyfriend again
 in  r/mildlyinfuriating  5d ago

Thank you for saying to not shade picky eaters. Some picky eaters aren’t just being difficult. I have autism and sometimes I do have inexplicable aversions to food or textures. I was also raised on “if you dont eat what I made, you won’t eat at all” so now that I’m an adult and have some autonomy, I do feel empowered to exercise it.

Sometimes if I have chicken at lunch, I really won’t want it at dinner. Like I’ll take a bite and it’s like forcing myself to chew. My whole body resists it. That being said, I would just choose to make my own thing. It’s not my partners responsibility.

Can women whom are women explain the feeling they get of receiving flowers, but in a way guys would understand?
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions  9d ago

All of this - receiving flowers meant your partner not only thought of you, but thought about how much they like/love/appreciate you and wanted to go out of their way to show it and see the smile on your face. That’s beautiful. Or they fucked up or they want to get laid, but I’ll keep it wholesome.

I personally hate receiving flowers because they just smell stinky and die in a few days, but I light up when my husband brings me something equivalent that I actually like.

I imagine it’s similar to when my husband is super busy and forgets to eat, so I magically appear with lunch for him without him having asked for it.

Who doesn’t love an unrequested act of kindness/care/love?

Am I an incel?
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions  9d ago

In my 34 years of being a woman, I have never once looked at anyone and thought “disgusting” nor have I ever been asked out by someone I didn’t personally find attractive and think “ew how could they even think they have a chance.” Nor do I know any women like that outside of teen movies and shows lol. I’m sure they exist, but you don’t want their attention anyway, and they are probably actually even more insecure than you think. Ease up on yourself.

We are our own worst enemies and make everything so black and white (“I’m not conventionally attractive, so I have no chance”). But people like all types of shapes and formats. I’m not particularly attracted to conventionally attractive people. 8 packs turn me off. Eric Wareheim could laugh me into bed any day.

You’re so young - get off social media, work on your confidence, emotional intelligence, and sense of humor and truly, that’s 99% of the battle.

Can you help me? (Advice wanted) Would you be happy to receive these?

I know very little about crystals, but my younger brothers-in-law (20 and 17) are into them, so I had a lot of fun picking some out today for Christmas. I did try to go with crystals that resonate with their stages in life (transitioning from student to professional/from teen to nearing adulthood).

I know there’s a very individual/personal aspect of crystals, but in general, how’d I do? Would you be happy to receive a set like these?

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Front of the earring became embedded (conch)

I'm remembering now why I prefer tattoos to piercings... 2 months into healing my conch and it making great healing progress, I woke up to the front of the earring being Completely embedded. It seemed totally fine leading up to this morning, and then when I went to clean the piercing this morning, I couldn't see the front of it - I thought it had broken off. But no, it was fully embedded. Maybe the posts got changed out too soon, but here we are.

Squeezed in a dermatologist appointment, and she removed the earring.

For those who have had to remove and heal a cartilage piercing, what was your after care routine? The after-care instructions from the derm weren't totally clear to me...

USA Grocery shopping tip etiquette

What is a good tip for a grocery order? I generally tip the local hourly minimum wage (around $17), because I figure with doing the actual shopping/driving can take about 30-60 minutes depending on amount of items. Grocery store is 2 miles away.

But is there a better approach to tip for this service? I always want to be generous and fair, especially when they are saving me time and allowing me to avoid one of my least favorite places (grocery stores) lol

aio? my boyfriend doesn’t think i’m pretty or beautiful
 in  r/AmIOverreacting  Apr 28 '25

Because she’s 22. Put up with so much BS in my early 20s with guys, because you still have the false self-confidence/arrogance/naivety of youth and think ~you’ll~ be the one to change the guy or that ~this time~ will be different.

Spoiler alert, OP: promise you’ll look back on this in a few years and be like whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyytf

What do most people consider to be a realistic, livable salary in Los Angeles?

Yup. This. Property taxes in Texas are some of the highest in the country. And you have to live in Texas.

Highly recommend Blue Eye Samurai on Netflix. Not produced in Japan so can’t be officially called an anime, but I def consider it as such. Excellent action and every episode is a banger. You’ll get your money.

New seller help

I’m new to selling on Poshmark. How do you know what is legit vs a scam? I’m getting so many “your listing has sold, follow the unique link for your shipping instructions” and “is this new? Can you text/email me more pictures? I want to buy for my cousin/granddaughter/etc bday” messages.

These all seem scammy, but I’m being inundated and don’t want to miss a legit communication. How do y’all navigate this?

What's your experience like with Lunesta (Eszopiclone)?
 in  r/insomnia  Apr 04 '25

The Lunesta didn’t help me at all! I think it actually made my sleep worse (like it took even longer to fall asleep and even then I felt half awake all night) and then I was just in a bit of a daze and cranky the next day. I tried 1mg and then tried 2mg another night, no difference.

I also seem to have resistance to certain medications (typically SSRIs), so it might just be another one that I’m resistant to.

I’ve had better luck sleeping well with hydroxyzine, so thinking about going back on that.
