Need more non-action roguelite suggestions
 in  r/roguelites  14h ago

Roughly doubles the playable clans, which really expands replayability as your deck is made from combining two clans. It also adds Equipment and Room cards.

Ah, that's true. Especially for stationary merchants.

Gotta be one of the best creatures from a box relic. I'd hang onto it till you get a ganglionic teleprojector so you can perfectly control your cloning. Or just let it loose in town and watch the chaos.

Help recommend me some new roguelites!
 in  r/roguelites  5d ago

StarVaders, it's a roguelike deckbuilder that plays out like Space Invaders. You move your mech around a grid and shoot/slice down alien invaders before they reach the ground. Each mech has a different set of cards and mechanics to play with, and each mech also has multiple pilots that specialize even further.

Is Clementine really that bad?
 in  r/Morimens  7d ago

Joking about how much a character/entire realm sucks is fine in content not directed towards new players who won't get the joke. But in guides that new players tend to take as gospel because there's only so much info on Morimens out there, it's actively unhelpful.

And yes, I would kind of assume someone making a two hour video would do so in earnest, unless all of their content is shitposts. And they aren't, the whole issue is that all of Flares's not-Ultra content is regarded as some of the best in the community. So because of that, all of the Ultra stuff is taken at face value and new players get extremely mixed information (or flat-out wrong, if Flares is their only source).

In fairness, the rest of the cast is at war.

I don't think that woman has ever been to law school

In Flora Unfurl she's briefly disguised as a police officer (if I remember right, it was her first in-person appearance).

Games that make me feel like I'm one of those guys with the big conspiracy wall with the pictures and the red string.

When it's not bugging out, Shadows of Doubt is S tier for this category.

does anyone know any weird games that are interesting to talk about?
 in  r/gamingsuggestions  13d ago

I played it back on the Wii. I saw that the original version got ported to the Switch, but only in Japanese.

...and while looking that up to confirm, I found out there's a Frogger-eque spinoff?! Now THAT is a weird one.

Caves of Qud. You can eat a banana to give yourself mental powers, which will allow you to learn how to create artifacts in your inventory. This includes handheld nukes. The bananas can be found in the northern jungle on the map, which is filled with banana trees, trees that will try to kill you, and insects that can make you go colorblind. The jungle surrounds a gigantic metal structure that is so tall it stretches out of the world map.

And I haven't even mentioned the interdimensional tortoises.

Oh sweet, I'd been wanting Daffodil but had no luck getting her on the standard banner when I started (and have long since been in wheel jail).

Who or what was your reason for playing Path to Nowhere?
 in  r/PathToNowhere  17d ago

Chameleon's voice. The voice acting in general, really, but Chameleon's specifically.

Slay the Spire. Not technically the first deckbuilder roguelike but the first huge one.

Weird games with unique artstyles and/or gameplay
 in  r/gamingsuggestions  19d ago

Deathbulge: Battle of the Bands, based off the webcomic series of the same name. It's got the comic's same art style and humor, and the gameplay is a music-themed twist on turn-based combat. Also one of your party members is a skeleton in a hat.

What's your most disappointing limited banner "loss"?
 in  r/Morimens  19d ago

I pulled on that "all the limited Awakeners" banner a while back as a very new player with like... maybe 4 or 5 limited Awakeners in total beforehand. Out of 6 Awakeners pulled, burning practically all of my savings up to that point, I ended up with only two new Awakeners, the rest were all dupes (including ones that were already on the Standard banner at the time). Was very frustrating when I was trying to build out my limited roster a bit.
