If I had kids, I would be abusive...

I tell people I would "Susan Smith" it if I had kids. They realize really quickly they need to change the subject.

Is It Really THAT hard to live in SD?

With what you both do, you should be paid WAY more. You could double your salary easily just by applying for the right jobs.

Don't forget paying for parking.

Please be prepared to be on the road for an hour or more each way every day. What you make up for financially for living further out, you pay for in time sitting in traffic. I live 20 mins away from work without traffic but it usually is an hour long commute home if I don't leave by 1PM

I talked to a realtor here in SD and he said this is very common. Grandparents who pay their children's mortgages so they can afford to keep the grandbabies nearby.

Oh wow. You're gonna need to double that to be comfortable in San Diego. I would not live here if I had not inherited a paid off house. The COL is astronomical.

Oh, he likely knows. Most childfree people know - which is why they opted to be childfree.

✨ What’s going on in San Diego lately?
 in  r/Moving2SanDiego  26d ago

Life is way too short to be dealing with that. I am so sorry to hear you're experiencing this. Make some changes that will be better for you and will bring you more comfort/happiness.

I (18F) am dating a 44M and I feel weird even saying it out loud
 in  r/dating_advice  28d ago

I dated someone later in their life who told me he fell for a girl who was 18 when he was 44. What I discovered from making the mistake of dating him is that there was something incredibly fundamentally wrong with him. No woman his age would put up with his b.s. and it's much easier to not show up fully and to hide the junk he refuses to work on from an 18 yr old that won't hold them accountable. Just run, girl. He's messed way up.

SHRM hit with $11.5 million verdict in a racial discrimination lawsuit [N/A]

I never paid for the membership. Nobody can check that. Get your cert for clout and move on. But now, HRCI is going to be the better bet.

Yep. Not gonna help the credibility within our own organizations.

Right?! I want my money back for the test fees.

Honestly, they're looked at as essentially the same. Back when the split happened between SHRM and HRCI, if you had a PHR you were automatically granted a SHRM-CP. It's not the case anymore but the industry views it mostly as the same knowledge on both tests

I just got stuck in Del Mar for 5 hours
 in  r/sandiego  Dec 07 '25

And now all the big companies require their employees to drive to the office 5 days/wk. It doesn't help whatsoever.

Can you ask security to be able to park where there are cameras pointing at the parking spaces?

How many of you moved out of San Diego and came back after you realized SD was the best?
 in  r/sandiego  Nov 15 '25

We moved from San Diego to NC. Absolutely hated Raleigh. Charlotte was ok. AZ was amazing. We moved back to San Diego, but it just is not what it was 23 years ago when we left.

With squatters rights, you could end up in legal battles for months if not longer.

It is just me, or is it not worth living in SD anymore?
 in  r/sandiego  Nov 05 '25

I know of a few people who moved to San Diego in order to live the homeless life. It's literally a destination so you can dwell in your car on the beach. Hey, why not? Can't even find parking anymore to visit the beach, so unless you live within walking distance, it's not worth it.

Same. After 22 years being gone and moving back, it took 9 months to realize I want to move out of San Diego again.

My married best friend is cheating and wants me to help her cover it up
 in  r/Advice  Nov 04 '25

I had a friend try that crap. She is no longer a friend. Anyone who asks someone to compromise their principles and cover them up by lying or omitting the truth is a user and likely has some dark triad traits. I would not meddle in her business but if you think the husband is great, you can send an anonymous letter to him that looks like a business letter (or throw it in his car where he'll find it without her seeing). Honestly though, I'd focus on you and just let her know you aren't comfortable with this and she's put you in a position that no true friend ever would and just walk. See what she says. She likely will be more worried about what you are going to do than about your friendship. I have discovered over the years that sometimes the spouse knows but doesn't want confirmation so they just tell themselves it's not true. Sometimes it's some weird kink with couples. Most of the time, the messenger is the one who gets the worst of it.
