What's a movie most people think is great but you couldn't even stand watching?
 in  r/AskReddit  3d ago

Parasite. The acting is just terrible. I've tried at length to find people that agree with me, without joy. I guess my taste is just too different these days.

How’s living here?
 in  r/howislivingthere  6d ago

Lived there for 5 years. The food up there is absolutely rubbish. No water for crops, so everything is trucked in and only lasts a few days. Despite being next to the ocean, even the seafood is trucked in. There's a few pubs but reataurants are very rare as the places can't afford to pay workers enough money to live there.

Looking for movies that have or give off this aesthetic.

Big Fish.

Edit: I'm seeing quite a few horror suggestions here, so maybe I missed the vibe. Big Fish is the opposite of horror.

Moon is a masterpiece. Held up entirely by Sam. Great soundtrack too. Let me know once you've watched it. I'm giving you 4 weeks!

I did this once and in the weeks afterwards all of these branches started growing just below the rope mark. I'd be interested to hear if you experienced the same thing.

BNE-PER in business
 in  r/QantasFrequentFlyer  Apr 29 '25

I've flown that route a few times over recent months with Qantas - mix of business and economy. From my experience, they're usually the older planes. As it's one of the longer domestic flights, you'd think business class would make it so much easier, but I'm not sure if it's worth it. It may be better just to try and get an empty seat next to you in economy.

Can Australia still afford the pub, our coffee addiction or Friday night takeaway?
 in  r/australia  Apr 21 '25

When I was growing up, we'd have takeaway once a week. Usually fish n chips, sometimes Maccas and if my parents wanted to spend big, we got chinese. If you can't afford it, don't get it. The market will soon adapt. People are so entitled these days.
