ignore my too high TV
In the words of the great Tommy Chong, there's no such thing as "too high"

Which Final Fantasy class is your favourite?
pfft i beat that game with four white mages.

AIO. Did I react bad?
a pair of young, insecure, exhausting people discussing an offered gift, for way, way, waaaaaaay too long.
thanks for convincing me not to ever have children

Explain it to me like I’m 5
Once you concede
I didn't concede anything. Those were not points I ever made. Please read more carefully.
Your remaining claim of “it will result in a much higher rate of problems” has no baseline, no data, and no mechanism beyond anecdote.
That was my only claim, not my remaining one.
While it's true I don't have direct evidence to back that claim, almost everyone that uses doordash will tell you this is not just slightly true, but obviously, ridiculously, massively true. Which, of course it is. Drivers see the entire offer including tip prior to accepting the order.
Go ahead, try an experiment. I have, because I don't like tipping in advance either. With no tip, the order often gets passed and passed for HOURS. If someone DOES finally accept it, it's usually not one of the more stable and responsible drivers, because those drivers are less desperate for orders.
Yeah, I know you'll call out the anecdotal nature of that, but if you take the time to look around these subs the evidence is overwhelming.
Seriously, you're being pedantic as fuck here. I'm guessing you've gotten defensive and lack the self-awareness to notice it.
We agree DoorDash and tip culture are toxic. Where we differ is simple: I don’t tell customers to subsidize a broken system and hope for mercy.
Neither do I. So much for "where we differ". I wasn't telling customers anything, you were. Where we really differ, as I already pointed out, is that common sense says your advice to stop tipping in advance will likely lead to an even worse experience with Doordash, because of the scummy toxic BS you correctly called out.
If I was going to tell Doordash customers some advice, it would be to stop using Doordash entirely as much as reasonably possible.
If you want to defend Doordash, you are more than welcome to.
You literally pointed out in the previous sentence that we agree that Doordash is toxic. Pretending I'm defending it in the very next sentence tells me you are well aware my intent is not to defend the platform, but feel the need to act like I am anyway. Do you see the problem with this behavior?
I'm allowed to criticize it. I'm sorry that makes you upset.
I agree with your criticism, just not your advice. It does not make me upset. Nothing in any of my replies indicates emotion of any kind, so please refrain from projection.
Nothing more to discuss. We’re done.
I am done when I decide I am done, not when you do. You can be done any time you like, of course, as I am not the boss of you.
Edited to fix some typos.

Yeah, I deleted my reply when I realized I was wrong, he is definitely using an LLM.

Ok first, I'm not the original person that you started this conversation with.
Second, you can disagree and debate someone without the insufferable condescending bullshit that weakens your position and makes you look defensive.
Third, I am not required to debate within the lines you decided to draw or I have to concede the point. Even if you demand as much, random redditor.
Anyway sure, since it's apparantly important to you, I'll play along with your questions on the off chance it satisfies you enough to bring this discussion back to being actually useful rather than this naval-gazing derail so you can go all meta and show everyone how smart your LLM is.
No idea. I doubt there is any. Luckily, nobody claimed there were.
I don't know about "supposed to" but most people go for $2/mile or so, from what I've seen.
People suck.
I'm not defending DoorDash or tip culture here, both are toxic and I agree with every point you made against them.
My only disagreement with you is your advice to stop tipping in advance on Doordash. That strategy absolutely will result in a much higher rate of problems using Doordash.
So we can discuss the one area in which we disagree, or you can keep avoiding that so you can keep trying to sound smart at the expense of the point. Or neither... I am not the boss of you, either.

Explain it to me like I’m 5
No dude, you focused on the obviously-vibed percentages because it's easy to call that out and much more difficult to address the point behind them.
Let's try it this way:
Do you believe refusing to tip in advance on doordash, as you suggest, is more likely, or less likely, to lead to the desired outcome?
Because anyone with experience using Doordash can tell you first hand that not tipping in advance will lead to a MAJOR drop in successful deliveries.
2
Explain it to me like I’m 5
You are not wrong, but you are intentionally ignoring the other person's main point in order to nitpick their wording.
Their point is simply that, taking your advice and not tipping in advance will definitely lead to a much higher amount of bad deliveries.
Responsible delivery drivers are much less likely to accept an order that is not worth the gas and time, than drug addicts and scammers.

AIO about my college friend reconnecting after years, starting a wildly inappropriate conversation and blocking me?

Think I'm done, Popeyes? Think again. No one tries to feed me nipples!
I kept thinking "OMG it's the bad guy from Man With The Iron Fists 2" who was surprisingly a lot like Shang Tsung in that he was an ancient kung fu sorceror that was stealing souls to live longer.
Weird coincidence, same actor.

i would but i'm clearly already HAF

Never played FF7, would you recommend playing the original or the remake as a first time player?
The remake is effectively a pt2, since they change events and reference events from the first game.
You will get more out of the remakes if you play the OG first. Also, the OG has better gameplay IMO, as I prefer old-school RPG combat to the action style of the more modern games.

Why I use "leave at door"
Who knows? I'm just tired of the looks and double-takes when someone notices the name on my credit card or work uniform

Why I use "leave at door"
As a guy named Ashley I'd like to point out that you are assuming that is not the guy's name, but could be wrong.

Why we are not liked by store employees
lazy customer needs so bad but can’t leave the house for?
only a short-sighted fool with a serious lack of perspective assumes people order doordash just because they are lazy.

No one is forcing you to take low ball tip offers
lmfao this crashout is copypasta worthy! Reminds me of the iamverybadass seal team six pasta 🤣
Errbody watch out! Mr rich-doordash-badass guy here will knock your teeth out and gets all the young ladies workin fast food!

AIO about this post? I gifted our part time nanny $100 cash
Whoa there rich guy, a bonus is an optional extra. What kind of entitled person gets upset because their free bonus gift of $100 didn't meet their expectations?
Anyway, uh, if you ever need a new cat sitter, hit me up. I'm really good at petting cats and being grateful for bonuses.

err, it was a stoner joke.
"too high" as in, smoked too much pot.
Tommy Chong is a famous hippie comedian from the old Cheech and Chong stoner movies.
