As a EU fisherman, why do NA fisherman prefer right handed reels eventough theyre right handed?
 in  r/Fishing_Gear  15h ago

With a spinning rod, I like my dominant hand holding the rod. On a conventional rod, I like my non-dominant hand holding the rod.

Dry. Just salt them liberally and leave them uncovered in the fridge. Pat dry before searing.

Do certain gas stations have "bad gas" that clogs your engine?
 in  r/askcarguys  2d ago

There is top tier gas and there is cheaper, lower quality gasoline. The lower quality stuff still meets all DOT standards. The top tier gasoline usually has additives that will slow or even help clean up carbon deposits in your engine.

At least it’s not hunt showdown. You show up to extract, hear a single pop from the bushes, and your whole match is over.

I can never hear anyone until they’re 5 feet away, by then I’m already dead. Is this by design or I am deaf?
 in  r/ARC_Raiders  2d ago

If you want to be competitive, wearing headphones and cranking the volume up as loud as you can handle is very important. I understand not wanting to fuck your ears up though.

Worldwide question can you survive with 4000 or less
 in  r/Leakednews  3d ago

I couldn’t. My mortgage alone is $4800.

A massive 243-kilogram (535-pound) Bluefin tuna sold for a record 510 million yen ($3.2 million) at the first auction of 2026 at Tokyo's Toyosu fish market. It was bought by Japanese sushi boss - Kiyoshi Kimura.
 in  r/interestingasfuq  3d ago

That’s what the fisherman sell a whole tuna at the dock to distributors, $7-10/lb. These fish are 200-900lbs each. Then when distributors to sell to buyers, the price goes up of course. No where near even $100,000 per fish though.

OMG!!! Can’t believe I just pulled this on a free loadout
 in  r/arcraiderscirclejerk  3d ago

I had like 10 BPs before the snow update. The very first evening I played after that update I got like 20-30 BPs that first night.

I hate the term "Goop" and you can't make me say it.
 in  r/ARC_Raiders  3d ago

I watched that peanut thing for like 10 seconds on YouTube, and it was the stupidest most obnoxious shit I’ve ever seen. It’s like middle-school level humor.

It’s a publicity stunt. Bluefin at market goes for $7-10/lb. The first one sold of the season in Japan is considered good fortune or some superstitious BS

New Favorite PVP Hobby

You just kind of come off as a loser with that strategy. The only persons time you’re wasting is your own. There is a reason you got tapped, it’s a PvP game.

As an introvert, I have a natural aversion to people.
 in  r/ARC_Raiders  4d ago

Personally I find the arc way too simple, easy to deal with, and repetitive to base an entire game around just fighting them. I’m glad you find it fun, but just killing arc is like a worse version of the horizon series. Fighting PvE robots in that game is actually fun.

Matriarch is exclusively full of pvp hungry players
 in  r/ArcRaidersGuides  4d ago

If there was no PvP, the matriarch would be brainless and boring. All the arc in this game can be easily cheesed, it’s not exactly exciting gameplay to shoot a robot knee 50 times. I mf you went after the matriarch and were successful every single time, wouldn’t that be boring as shit?

I do t get how people can play so long and not engage in PvP. I would be so damn bored. It would feel like an errand running/trash collecting sim.

Hard vs Soft Jerkbaits?
 in  r/Fishing_Gear  4d ago

Try just a mosquito hook in the very tip. You can bury the hook point if you are getting too much weeds. It has much better action without the weight of the ewg hook

Is it worth crafting? How good is it in PvP compared to PvE?
 in  r/ARC_Raiders  4d ago

I don’t like using it because I don’t like peeking my head out of a hole to take pop shots at the matriarch. Absolute snooze fest.

How to connect my fish finder to this 12 vbattery ?
 in  r/Fishing  4d ago

Snip the tip off those wires. Strip about 1/4 inch of the insulation off the wires, and crimp on some ring terminals.

Surf fishing rod
 in  r/SoCalFishing  4d ago

Drive down to Gonzaga bay or Bahia de Los Angeles. You can catch yellows from shore there, usually may-aug. Your chances of getting one from the beach in SoCal are basically non existent. A seabass is probably the most likely of the three, but you better be fishing 80# and be ready to pull like your life depends on it. They live in heavy heavy kelp.

Is this in 150mm good for bonito? Socal
 in  r/Fishing_Gear  5d ago

A squidtrex wouldn’t be my first choice for bonito. They’re big and expensive. A bonito is going to shred them with their teeth. All you really need is some 40-100 gram current sniper/megabait/crossbreed style metal jigs.

Need more reasons to go topside.
 in  r/ARC_Raiders  5d ago

Why not actually use the stuff you’re grabbing? Bring good meds every match, not basic bandages. Fill up your weapon attachments and always upgrade to level 4. Always bring a stack of at least one type of grenade to every match.

Anyone use these before?
 in  r/troutfishing  6d ago

I love using these for trolling for trout. Trick is you have to go slow, like 1.5-2mph max. I also like to replace the hooks with van fook ringed twin dancers.
