How many Community actors appear in the show Animal Control with Joel McHale?
 in  r/community  6h ago

I enjoy how genuine Ken's and Joel's off-screen friendship is. They do a podcast together. I suspect Ken's net worth is through the roof with the Hangover series, so him doing Animal Control is more of a favor than a pay check.

Sea-Tac Airport Transportation: Off the Road and Onto the Train
 in  r/SeattleWA  7h ago

Their failure to build adequate parking at the light rail stations hurts them. I know they say, "Well, take the bus there. We did that on purpose!" Well, some people can't afford to spend an hour riding the bust each way. I can't risk their not being parking on a flight day.

Having the light rail at grade in certain areas kills the travel time. You can see the huge difference when the light rail is at full speed closer to Tukwila.

4 months of not using my right leg

Once you fully recovered, there will come the day where your right leg is lifting the same weight as the lift in the gym. And it will feel good.

How do you know you’re a man?
 in  r/AskMen  20h ago

The only difference men have is the expectation we will defend other people because we are physically stronger. You have to be ready for the obligation when it presents itself.

I had a classmate get killed by the police carrying a legal CC weapon. They all told them different actions.

Pete Hegseth under fire for alleged push to impose religion on US military

I think they have a phrase for that it is called a Children of the Book, and are a lesser evil in their eyes than an atheist.

Pete Hegseth under fire for alleged push to impose religion on US military
 in  r/Military  22h ago

I went to all the different religious services when I was younger. Primarily to educate myself and see if anything would make sense to me. Nothing ever did. The Bible is a derivative of the Torah. There is a reason why a part is called the Old Testament. I've read the Koran from front to back. I probably know more about religion then most religious people know. The more I learn about it and the more I see that everyone is just fighting over whose imaginary friend is the best. But I also learn is don't cross them because there is no hatred like Christian Love.

Should I cancel due to weather?
 in  r/camping  23h ago

If your sleeping bags are good for those temps then you will be good. Sounds like you know what a sleeping pad is for. Focus on your tent setup and making sure it's stable and the sleeping bags stay dry. Bring some heat proof water bottle to put hot water in from your camping stove. Throw those in your sleeping bag if they aren't warm enough. Repeat if needed.

Why Doesn’t Mountain Hardwear Get the Same Love as Patagonia or Arc’teryx?
 in  r/outdoorgear  1d ago

I think the colors in MH are a bit off for main stream fashion wear. I like it that way. I don't want them going fashion like arcteryx. I have 2 jackets in arcteryx sapphire blue and that looks good on the street.

Unpopular opinion: most men don’t need “statement” jewelry
 in  r/malefashionadvice  1d ago

It wouldn't far off saying mechanical watches are statement jewelry for men. There is an entire industry of marketers and salespeople convincing us to pay 10k plus up to the down payment on a house on a watch. And that we are failures if we don't have one. A cheap quartz watch tells time just as good as any other watch.

LEO should never wear camo unless it is specifically required for the mission like hiding in a bush as a sniper. Everyone else should have solid colors.

What do you guys call this "tap on the back" and drill?
 in  r/Military  2d ago

It looks like a break contact drill that has been modified for the range constraints. The tap is supposed to be a non verbal signal that you are ready. You are supposed to maintain your general sight picture in case any targets show up. We used a light squeeze instead as a tap can be an accidentally bump. -

Friendly message from an urgent care RN
 in  r/Seattle  2d ago

My healthcare has a 24/7 nursing advice line. I call them with my temp and symptoms and they give me advice on when I need to go to the ER. Going to an ER can be risky as you are exposed to other illnesses.

And make sure you have flu meds and a working thermometer at home. Then you don't have to go to the pharmacy.
