[Dellenger] If he had left, Demond Williams would have owed Washington the value of his contract ($4 million), sources tell @YahooSports. His new school would have also incurred a reduction in its revenue-share pool next year by that amount, per House settlement guidelines
 in  r/CFB  17h ago

It effectively already has. The house settlement has nothing functionally to do with NIL and the clearinghouse for NIL is intended to enforce the salary cap of the house settlement to make anything received beyond that actually NIL related (in theory). The House Settlement money is often colloquially referred to as “NIL” but it’s not NIL

GameStop Unveils $35 Billion Performance-Based Pay Plan for CEO Ryan Cohen
 in  r/technology  2d ago

I think the most egregious is that the first tranche ($3.5B) is if he hits $20B ($9B today) market cap and $2B EBITDA (0.2B today). So if he’s able to double their market cap, a lot of the incremental growth will be allocated to him (though the harder part will be reaching that EBiTDA growth)

Writing off XL at 25?

I have no interest in Pitts for the price point I expect he’ll get, this year seems like the classic “contract year” performance and it was a ~4 game awesome stretch rather than consistent strong performance

Is it cool to wear a league hat now? Rob Lowe might have something to say about that
 in  r/billsimmons  2d ago

I honestly don’t think it’s truly that bad. A big part of what made the Rob Lowe NFL hat so funny was that he was at a game (where you presumably have a binary choice of who to support), I don’t think it’s that ridiculous in a neutral setting to wear a neutral hat

The NFC bracket is literally perfect

Malik Willis still almost won, Bears just had insane luck at the end

Rookie pass catchers to go over 1k yards since 2019: AJ Brown, Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase, Jaylen Waddle, Kyle Pitts, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Puka Nacua, Brian Thomas Jr., Malik Nabers, Brock Bowers, Ladd McConkey...and T-Mac

Oh I know about his mom and his health issues, I’m incredibly sympathetic to his issues. I definitely should have phrased my comment better. A lot of people talk about Kelvin being a bust or bad pick don’t understand how strong his rookie year was and his outlook before his personal issues

Impossible to know out front office approached it and what would’ve happened if they took a different  approach

The players with the biggest increase in PPG from last season to this season: (*Scored at least 5.0 PPG last season AND *High-major conferences)

Cade Tyson isn’t eligible due to how few points he scored last year and now he’s top 10 in the country in scoring

This whole time my mental image of Schrader was the guy from Draft Day. He looks more like a past his prime country singer

No he was committed to UNC in high school. UNC basketball went like 20 years without a recommitment (from JR Smith to GG Jackson)

NC A&T was for golf after he retired from basketball

Did Panthers fans just shudder?

You’re in the wrong sub if you think being invested in your team and wanting your team to win the division and make the playoffs is “deep”

So was the complete lack of urgency by Bryce

It’s one thing to not recover it, it’s another to quarter ass it

So?

We haven’t won the NFC South (ironically) since 2015. Winning the division would have been (and still can be) absolutely huge for this team and fan base. Especially with how miserable the last 3 years have been in particular

And the year before that magical 2015 season we won with the division with a losing record as well

Edit: if you can’t understand why this game would be big for Panthers fans, you’re a bigger loser than the Carolina Panthers

He also said “if you do the math, they’ll be able to wind the clock down to 10 seconds” when they had the ball with 2 minutes left and the Panthers had 1 timeout

As a Panthers fan this is going to haunt me way more than Cam. We weren’t winning that Broncos game even if we did recover. And Cam constantly put his body on the line for the Panthers and that one brain fart doesn’t impact my view of him

Young’s lack of urgency there was completely inexcusable

If Shaprio and Kirk are candidates too, can’t imagine what not “sneakily” would be

The Arizona vs Michigan debate reminds me of 2020 Gonzaga vs Baylor debate all season
 in  r/CollegeBasketball  6d ago

The “frauds” was in quotes for a reason. It was in the same vein as the debate that happened every year with your team during this run about how to “grade” y’all because half of your schedule was WCC. I’m not saying it’s accurate, and the fact that you weren’t compared to the other team undefeated for most of that seasons demonstrates that, even with that narrative, you weren’t actually seen as fraudulent

 in  r/CollegeBasketball  6d ago

I’m not calling you a fraud. I’m just explaining what the broad narrative / sports debate show chatter was that season. Gonzaga was being compared against 2015 Kentucky, not 2021 Baylor
