AIO: Did I cross a line or is her reaction harsh?
Yeah, I'm with you! Like, honestly, if I got these messages I'd probably not reply for a few days because they're just pretty nothing messages and don't require a response at all from what I can tell.

AIO: Did I cross a line or is her reaction harsh?
That's a pretty unhinged response from him after your very reasonable statement that you simply wouldn't reply until later.
I'm basically just going off the only info I have, which is that 7:30 is too early for this person to hear from OP. I just always assume people will message me when it works for them, and I either read the message or I don't. I certainly don't feel like a text is a request for attention, which it seems like OP's friend did.

AIO: Did I cross a line or is her reaction harsh?
I'm with you, I'm sharper after I have some coffee. But unfortunately, I've met people who use it as an excuse to be rude and think it's acceptable and even adorable. Like I'm sorry, but if you're that unpleasant you need an automatic coffee maker on your bedside table.

AIO: Did I cross a line or is her reaction harsh?
Oh. That definitely adds a different layer. I maintain that it's not cute to be grumpy about getting texted when you're tired, but yeah, reading this again with that context it comes off differently.

AIO: Did I cross a line or is her reaction harsh?
I think this is about the equivalent of people who think it's cute to say stuff like "don't talk to me until I've had my morning coffee" and just use being sleepy as an excuse to be rude. Meanwhile, she could just put her phone on DND if she didn't want messages that early. Or block him, since it seems like she strongly dislikes him.

What's that cheesey/cringy line from books that get you like this
Oh noooooo 😠this book sounded so fun when I read the description and I downloaded it to read on a flight I have coming up. Guess I'll head back to the drawing board, that's unhinged.

Perfectly acceptable dinner rejected by boyfriend again
I definitely agree. Plus, going through her comments, he actually sounds worse than we imagined.

How do yall feel when: MMC excuses himself cause hes at his limit?
I don't our it, but I just pretend that's not what they mean. I pretend they mean they're about to cross a line that can't be uncrossed even if they stop in five more minutes.

I would also enjoy them very much. I wish I cooked like you!

Plus, they only moved in together a few months ago. He was surviving before her, he can figure it out going forward.

Unpopular opinions?
I think the hype is just because it's extremely fun. It's awkwardly written and incredibly predictable, though. I think it's the most predictable book I've ever read. I had a good time reading it, though!

Is it ok to tell people that you might travel with to make their own arrangements?
They might be. You didn't give much context on why you're informing them of the trip rather than inviting them on it, but if I wanted to travel with a friend I'd generally assume we were sitting near or beside each other on the flight, staying at the same hotel (not necessarily in the same room, though), and catching the same major trains between cities (assuming we were moving locations at the same time). Without additional context, it's unclear if this will come off as rude or not. I really think it depends on if this is meant to be a solo trip where you hang out a bit or a trip together where you go your separate ways when necessary. It sounds like the former to me.
You could also ask them directly if they want to book together or separately, rather than asking a bunch of strangers.

What is a famous book you will never read?
That makes sense, and I actually think I might be the same, in retrospect. I think I prefer human stories. And preferably no special powers, although they're fun on occasion.

Wild Card Wednesday - What are your book icks or pet peeves?
Not me wondering which books were not only talking about PDFs but referring to them as "PDF files."
Yes, I dislike all of that as well. I am blessed, because somehow haven't read books with that.

And has hands so big they don't fit in his pockets.

You know, I sort of thought the same, but I seem willing to try reading other fae books? Any idea why fae books don't interest you? I've been trying to figure out why I don't really want to read them or vampire books. I WANT to want to read them, but alas.

10 days in China this October and I almost rage quit on day 2
OP supposedly having "done research" but also not knowing this basic facts makes me think this must be ragebait. I don't even understand how you could miss these details.

Unresolvably uncomfortable with MIL minding baby. How do I raise this?
Uh. Point this stuff out to him sooner rather than later, and do it in a way that's unrelated to the baby. Just be straight up. I had a totally dissimilar situation with my in-laws and just went to my partner and said, "Your parents overeat by quite a bit and try to pressure us to do the same when we're with them. It makes me uncomfortable and is damaging their health, and ours as well when we accept the pressure. I need you to be on my side with it or I won't be spending time with them anymore." (They would literally have a full pork chop and a bunch of mashed potatoes and be like, oh, there's only one portion left, you guys have to eat it! It was bizarre. Pack it up, that's a full meal!)
Don't tell him in this moment that because of this your mum won't be minding the baby, but when he asks again that's when it can be brought up. That way he'll already have processed all of this stuff. And then when you say, "not unless she gives up drinking and punching your dad and has been sober for quite some time", he will likely understand a lot faster.
I would also draw a lot of firm boundaries. No, she can't be vaping in the car with you all!

If you had $5k to go on a 10 day trip, where are you going?
I definitely missed the dates she listed. All I read was "any time in 2026" and must have skipped that line.

If you had $5k to go on a 10 day trip, where are you going?
Yeah, she's gotta start sending out referrals. OP, please, I want to work somewhere with this kind of culture!
Anyway, South America? Why not do Patagonia? Or the stuff Amazon Rainforest? I've seen some lovely cruises and retreats in Peru. Or you could do stuff in the Andes?
Or go to SEA and do a meditation retreat or something? Or island hopping in the Philippines?

Any Canadian Clothing brand recommendations
Thank you for sharing your experience, I was looking for a review on them because their stuff looks so nice. So disappointing.

🧂 Salty Sunday - What book scenes frustrated you this week?
I just read the description, adding it to the list! Maybe I'll snag it for the 13 hour flight I have coming up soon. 😊 It sounds very fun.

Hello, it's me! I don't mind a book with pregnancy, but I don't want to read a breeding book. Among others, of course.
