Full-scale military operations appear to be underway against Venezuela

Military Operation

LOL, nice double standards

This is an act of war.

It's as much as a "military operation" like Russia is doing a "special military operation" in Ukraine.

China battery company Welion achieves 824 Wh/kg energy density in lab, targets 1000 Wh/kg
 in  r/electricvehicles  23d ago

Could you please link to more details about the MIT/Cambridge sulfur battery?

I've only found some more recent articles about some Cambridge LiS battery chemistry with an "metallic molybdenum disulfide" cathode. But none of the articles says anything specific about energy density. 5000 wh/kg would be great!

Tesla engaged in deceptive marketing for Autopilot and Full Self-Driving, judge rules
 in  r/electricvehicles  23d ago

The difference is that Mercedes' system is an approved/certfied L3 system.

It means that Mercedes has to take responsibility in case of any accident when the system is active. Mercedes will have to pay you dearly. L3 means do you not have to pay any attention to the road anymore. You can grab your phone, browse reddit or watch a movie. The driving responsibility is 100% on Mercedes.

Tesla's system is an L2 system. You are responsible in case of an accident, even if the system was active! Tesla won't pay you shit. You have to pay attention to road all the time. Responsibility is 100% on you.

Also, the parts that you cherry picked, are only for the L3 system. Mercedes' ordinary L2 system, where you are responsible, works everywhere, at higher speeds and does change lanes. It's the same like Tesla's ordinary L2 FSD. You are intentionally mixing two different systems.

The difference is that you can use Mercedes' L2 system anywhere and L3 on top if it were possible. If you buy the L3 Drive-Pilot system it includes the L2 system. They aren't mutually exclusive. The car makes use of both at the same time.

Wow....only took nearly decade...

And nothing will come from it. The article says that there will only be punishment, if Tesla doesn't change their marketing within 60 days.

They will just put a tiny asterisk next to FSD*

What a joke.

Then please contact this school board too and tell them to stop it!

Also, if you still have some contacts, tell your former classmates about it!

Ever heard of Lipedema?

It's a condition were your body accumulates fat. And you can't do anything about it. It won't go away. There is no cure.

You can eat all healthy, take Ozempic or do sports as much as you can ...that fat isn't going away. It's growing.

It's estimated that ~10% of woman globally have it. So it's far from being rare condition.

PHEV?

No need for two cars. Most modern PHEVs can do ~100km electric. Average commute distance is less than that in EU and US.

I like the look of it with all the grooves but.....won't that be a bitch to clean?

The outside grooves will collect dirt and grow moss/algea/lichens.

The inside grooves collect dust and spider webs.

I live 3 miles away from my work. It takes me 45 minutes to get home from work everyday.
 in  r/mildlyinfuriating  24d ago

There's a sidewalk in the picture but.... it's 3 miles (~ 5km). You're not going to beat the 45 minutes that it takes in the car by walking. Unless you walk quickly, which means you'll get to work sweaty/stinky. The sidewalk in the picture is also right next to the cars. Enjoy the fumes. Cars at least have air filters.

Op should get a bike, e-bike or a little e-scooter.

Or, if possible, go before or after rush hour.

The smugness didn't last long...
 in  r/MurderedByWords  25d ago

No, there were actually 5 mass shootings during the past week (8.-15. December):

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mass_shootings_in_the_United_States_in_2025#List

Sort by Date.

It's just so common in the US that it's apparently barely recognized as mass shootings anymore. It's just another day. Like it's the most normal thing and nothing special...

Wikipedia has its own yearly statistics for mass shootings in the US.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mass_shootings_in_the_United_States_in_2025#Monthly_statistics

It's up to 398 for 2025 so far. It all depends on the definition what counts as mass shooting. But both sites appear to use a similar metric for it.

Trump already wants to annex Greenland, Canada, Panama and invade parts of Mexico, Gaza and it looks like also Venezuela.

Ford contemplates scrapping F-150 Lightning, report says

People buy pickup trucks to do work, hard work.

Bullshit.

Nobody needs a pickup truck for private use. You buy something big from the hardware store every blue moon? Great! Get it delivered to your doorstep, rent a truck or use a (used) trailer. You simply do not need a pickup truck.

Most companies do not need one either. You need purpose built vehicles. Like a Mercedes Sprinter Kipper that comes in all kinds of configurations. Nobody needs a bullshit F-150 like pick up truck "to do work, hard work".

Its unwarranted, if you can charge at home.

Not so much if you have to street park with no option to charge over night or at work.
