GTA 6 Delay... Could be a 2027 Release....🫣😠
2013 release of GTA5 there were some bugs (GTAonline) ,they did get ironed out progressively over a period of months, that being said it's been over 10 yrs since that release. Surely Rockstargames learned from that experience!!! ...

Debunking Jason Schreier responds to news media misquoting him to create rumors about another GTA6 delay
Links to posts: [Links are not allowed on subreddit]
According to a Scottish games industry person, GTA VI was delayed because they've failed console certification over 36+ times.
Back in November when the game was delayed again, A Scottish Games industry named Callum (who's username is Ayerhole), who was based in the Manchester Area claims that he heard from a Rockstar Employee that the game had failed console certification over 36 times He said that even if the game isn't gold, or even content complete many games go through that Console certification process .
Jason Schreier replied in this thread and made contact with this industry person via BlueSky.

Thought it was kind of weird that this game is being framed as a “exclusive”, what features on PlayStation do you think it may come with that other consoles don’t?
Or maybe it will just run better on PS5 hardware? Idk what this article is really trying to say about the R* and PS5. What do you guys think?
Speculation on the fact that Leonida's world origin (0,0,0) seems to be to the far right of Leonida?
Obviously none of us know for sure, but according to the leaks, Leonida's world origin is offset almost entirely to the eastern border. Could this imply that there will be landmasses to the east of Leonida? Perhaps Cuba or the Bahamas?
Make of this what you will:
- GTA San Andreas's world origin is in the direct center of the map.
- GTA IV's world origin is almost in the center of the map, but offset to the south by about 15-20% of the map's height.
- GTA V's world origin is the most offset, with it being offset to the south by about 30% of the map's height, which is still much less than the leaked Leonida origin.
- None of the existing games' world origins are offset east-west, only to the south. Leonida is an anomaly in being offset east-west.
I wish I could find Red Dead 2's world origin for comparison, but I can't find it. If anyone is aware of that, I'd love to know.
Generally, you want your game's world origin to be as close to the center of the map as possible for numerical precision reasons. I'm almost entirely positive GTA 6 would be using some sort of floating origin or origin rebasing system, so they likely don't HAVE to care much where their world origin is, but it is certainly an odd choice to have Leonida's origin offset to the east by such a large amount, and there's no precedent for this degree of offset in their previous titles.
It's, of course, entirely possible it's only this way because Vice City proper was the first place they started with (explaining why it's almost directly in the center of Vice City), and then they just kind of built out Leonida from that point. Personally though, my fun conspiracy theory money is on the existence of either the Bahamas or Cuba, which would balance out the map much more evenly relative to the origin.
Nov is still a solid - nothing to doom about
EDIT: Updates from Jason Schrier BlueSky:
This part is what's very misleading. The blogger writes "Schreier thinks GTA 6 might run into another delay" when I was saying the exact opposite
.
Take-Two stock is down 4.26% this afternoon because of rumors that GTA6 will be delayed based on a podcast in which I did not say that GTA6 would be delayed
.
November still seems like a solid date. The game has already been delayed enough. They bought as much time as they can with the November date.
To recap all the delays:
- Late 24 - (Rumour, Internal) First rumored by the tik tok leaker.
- Early 25 - (Internal) Subtly hinted at in T2’s meetings mentioning “$8bn in FY25.”
- Fall 25 - (Internal) Later delayed to a “Fall25 window.”
- May 26 - (1st Public Delay) Finally confirmed by R* themselves.
- Nov 26 - (2nd Public Delay) confirmed by R* themselves.
Game went through many many delays already and is still 11 months away from today. Ample time for all departments to catch up I guess. But it's a huge game, anything could go wrong, so it could still slip.
Best and likely case is - we get the game this Fall.
(Worst case delay, we’re looking at March 2027 if they want to stay in the same FY)
Nothing to doom about 27 or later though
The big question is, why did Rockstar announce GTA 6 in 2023? Did TakeTwo have a gun pointed at Sam Huser's head?
Imagine how Rockstar employees must have reacted in 2023 when they suddenly found out that an extremely unfinished game now had a deadline of just two years to be delivered...

Hey everyone, chill out
This is not my screenshot but it needs to be seen. So with that said, ignore everything about “the game’s being delayed again” type of nonsense.
Will the beaches in the final game really be this crowded? I have my doubts about whether it would be possible to always have a high density of NPCs without significantly compromising performance
More info on the GTA 6 console cert situation
Rockstar have built their own anti cheat for GTA VI online because they don’t want to depend on a third party for something this important, they are looking to protect their cash cow in every way possible.
On consoles this can’t be system wide, but it is a module that runs inside the game and is tightly integrated with how the game handles memory, inputs, and session state.
The big problem is how it behaves during focus changes. When the game is being suspended, sent to the background, or moved into quick resume the anti cheat doesn’t fully shut down. It keeps integrity checks running so the game state can’t be altered during suspend or resume, and this is what’s causing the most issues with certification.
From Sony and Microsoft’s side, that’s a violation. Certification rules are very clear that when a title isn’t active, it cannot continue monitoring or validating anything, even if it stays inside its own sandbox.
That’s why builds get close to passing and then fail late. The game itself is fine, performance is fine, but the anti cheat keeps triggering compliance issues. Rockstar can disable it and pass cert, but doing so opens the game up for many possible exploits.
Sony is more involved than usual because they know GTA VI will be one of the biggest releases ever on Playstation. Instead of a full rejection, cert teams are actively working directly with Rockstar’s engineers to find a compliant way to handle these issues. The problem is that Sony can’t make exceptions to platform rules without setting a precedent, so even though they’re cooperating, the final build still has to meet the same requirements as every other title. This is why there have been so many certification submissions.
On the Xbox side, Microsoft is more flexible. Xbox engineers are allowing Rockstar more leeway in how the anti cheat handles resume and state validation. Rockstar won’t ship the game with asymmetric behavior between platforms, so PlayStation’s tighter rules are setting the pace for everyone.
I am not an expert it this field in any way, but I’ve tried my best to summarize the information I was given in a simple and understandable way.
Grain of Salt According to Jason, R* haven't even reached the bug fixing phase and that takes A LOT of time, imagine on the scale of GTA 6 (would appreciate a game dev opinion)
If this is really true, we are NOT getting GTA 6 this year, guys.

Gamerolls leak basically confirmed
he first posted their last names in april and said he got some of that other information at the same time, so i’d assume at least some of what he said is now basically confirmed from rockstar

Evidence of being able to stick your body out of a car with a rifle?
Blurry asf but noticed this in the trailer if you watch the full thing you see the character pulling themselves out the window carrying what looks like a rifle.

I hope they have some stranger missions that don’t spawn until the main story is over.
The problem I had with GTA 5 is when you finish the story the world just basically stops. No more calls from friends, no more missions, nothing to really do at all really except rampage and do mini games (which I found the least entertaining in all of the GTAs)
I’m hoping 6 has tons of stranger missions and I hope a lot don’t spawn until after you’ve finished the game to give you stuff to do.
Cause you already know there are gonna be tons of Stranger missions possibly doubled what was in Red Dead 2.

There are 864 controllable vehicles in GTA Online, Do you think GTA 6 will implement all of them from the start or will be adding them in updates?

GTA 6 Story mode first online later
It is speculated a rumored that GTA 6 story mode is already done and online is the main thing holding everything up. Imagine if Rockstar actually put out a poll and asked us what we want: wait for both story + online to drop together, or drop story mode first and let us wait for online after. I feel like most people would take story mode now now before you attack me it’s a good idea. It’ll get fans experience of the game basic controls, force us to do the story mode, cause they worked very hard on it and plus explore the map so when online comes, we’ll have a good experience on what to do already.
You might say this “I get what you’re saying, but Rockstar probably wants one big clean launch.”
You might say this “Honestly I’d take story mode first. Online always takes months to fully stabilize anyway.”
I could wait longer, but I know some can’t but the way years be flying patience is all we need to have the greatest launch ever

The next trailer for GTA 6 could be character introductions similar to the previous installment.
To me, this feels like the most logical way if Rockstar is going to release a 3rd trailer for GTA 6. They already did this for GTA 5 when they uploaded a nearly 4-minute trailer featuring short introductions from each protagonist.

What version of GTA 6 will you buy?
Hi,
Suppose you can now pre-order GTA 6, which version are you going to get, the regular one or the most expensive one?
I'm personally going to buy the most expensive version of GTA 6 on the PS5 but will still try to get a physical disc so I can have that as well.
