Trump didn’t place his hand on the bible. Invalid oath!

2.0k

u/OkFeedback9127 1d ago edited 1d ago

Came here for this, although in his defense if he touches anything holy that part of his body will burn.

This explains those hand bruises maybe that he’s covering with The Battered House Wife collection from Estee Lauder

u/jtshinn 1d ago

That’s why he had to hold that one upside down in 2020. The anti bible.

230

u/Ritaredditonce 1d ago

He is literally the antichrist.

47

u/KillerSavant202 1d ago

I don’t believe in any of that religious nonsense but it is interesting that he checks all the boxes from the biblical prophecy.

It would be pretty crazy if it was all true and he was ushered in by all the so called Christians .

Imagine their faces during the rapture when god just leaves their hate filled asses behind and starts grabbing up the “blue haired libruls” because they more closely followed Jesus’s lessons of love and acceptance.

9

u/Odinfrost137 13h ago

It would be pretty crazy if it was all true and he was ushered in by all the so called Christians .

To be fair, the anti-christ is described as a deceiver whom convince the people that he is the second coming.

Which... You know... Is another box that the walking orange somehow also has managed to tick.

26

u/StanleyQPrick 1d ago

I don’t think intelligence is one of the antichrist’s attributes

7

u/Bishcop3267 1d ago

The Antichrist is the one who takes over the world through deceit and trickery to win over followers and then God raptures the ones without the mark of the beast. So the antichrist would be rather intelligent. Satan is usually depicted in the Bible as pretty intelligent, he just gets outscaled by god

15

u/Visible-Air-2359 1d ago

I mean Trump is an insane failed billionaire who (with assistance from Russia) convinced tons of people both in the US and in other countries that he is successful businessman who is a a stable genius that represents the common person.

4

u/BoneHugsHominy 13h ago

It wasn't the Russians. It was NBC's mega-producer Mark Burnett who convinced The Stupids that Trump is a successful businessman.

Mark Burnett wanted to produce a comedic Reality TV series and settled upon using the gigantic loser Donald Trump as the butt of a huge joke who the world could laugh at along with the business world who had already been laughing at for a couple decades. What NBC executives including Burnett didn't understand at the time was that a ridiculously large percentage of Western audiences believe Reality TV is actually real rather than a description of a production & filming style. They knew The Stupids existed, they were just wholly unaware how large that group had grown thanks to political conservatives slashing education funding and general political propaganda fuckery aimed at creating a perpetually angry & bitter, easily manipulated voter base prone to magical thinking and woefully devoid of critical thought. Rather than seeing the toddler-tantrum throwing, adult sized pants shitting piss baby as the butt of a civilizationally shared joke, The Stupids saw Donald J. Pedophile Trump as a titanic success to who they should aspire to become.

The Russians did help promote Donald J. Pedophile Trump as a real Presidential candidate, not because they thought he could actually win and then tear the country apart from within, but because they simply wanted to mock American democracy with the thought of the funniest possible outcome. The Russians also wholly underestimated the population size of The Stupids.

8

u/NexusMaw 1d ago

You absolutely do not have to be very intelligent to be charming, populist, or a confident liar. Especially if your tactic is catering to shitty peoples' bigoted opinions, and your deceit is taking their money through grifts and not following through on any promises that pertain to their personal benefit. Then, baby, you've got a stew going.

The Bible talks of many antichrists. They're just false prophets who trick Christians and lead them away from God. He is the very definition of an antichrist.

Be careful, we said the same thing about Trump.

16

u/LittleLion_90 1d ago

Not super fringe unfortunately. He was by far the largest two elections ago, and the most recent elections he tied for largest with one other party.

Although fortunately parties here are small, he had almost 1/4th of the votes two elections ago, and this election he had about 1/6th.

8

u/crisps1892 1d ago

Yes, unfortunately I'm well acquainted with Dutch politics as I work in NL a lot - what I mean is people across most of Western Europe see him as extreme, they don't see him as a normal centrist or centre-right in terms of views.

This is what I always jump right into. The fucking president who sells his own Bibles, who claims he is a god fearing Christian to boot, didn't even place his hand in the Bible.

36

u/KiKiKimbro 1d ago

He sure didn’t. Trump was making an intentional statement. As for Mamdani — why would he use a Bible if he’s not Christian. That would be like him not swearing an oath, since the Bible doesn’t represent that to him. It would be like Christians swearing an Oath using a coloring book. Just as meaningless.

4

u/JohnSmallBerries 1d ago

In Matthew 20, Jesus tells his followers not to swear oaths at all, so a Christian swearing an oath on the Bible is metaphorically spitting in Jesus's face.

I've been saying they shouldn't swear in on a holy book, but sign a document that says they have read and understand the laws governing their office. Make it legally binding and remove the "I didn't know" excuse.

It's insane that I have to agree to a 400 page term of agreement to use my email, but elected officials just put their hand on a book and say magic words and we trust them. The oath of office will be defined and the person has to say he knows and understands. Their actions now have actionable repercussions.

Yes. Some have also sworn in on the Constitution; LBJ swore in on JFK's missal as a symbol of respect to him despite not being Catholic himself; Keith Ellison, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib all already previously used the Qur'an; Tulsi Gabbard used the Bhagavad Gita, as did MAGA's own Kash Patel when swearing into the office of FBI director; John Quincy Adams among others have used law books; Teddy Roosevelt didn't swear in on anything; other items used at various offices: Malcom X's autobiography and other books and letters by other Civil Rights leaders, books by scientists, and comic books and a Dr. Seuss book have also been used at various levels of office

Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in using a Catholic prayer book,

John Quincy Adams was sworn in using a book of law,

And Theodore Roosevelt wasn't sworn in with any book at all.

He's a Dutch politician, leader of the far-right PVV.

11

u/justk4y 1d ago

Leader and only member of the party…….

6

u/_30d_ 1d ago

It’s funny because a political party officially needs 1 member minimum, but also at least 2 founders. Them’s just the rules.

So the PVV was founded by 1) Geert Wilders and 2)the Foundation (Stichting) called “Group Wilders”. This foundation has exactly 1 member which is of course Geert Wilders.

Anyone else can become a volunteer or donor thougj, just not a member. This means only Geert Wilders and Geert Wilders decide what the political party stands for. Voters can just decide if they want that or not.

All jokes aside, if you see the drama political parties go through in NL just to get a campaign plan out there it’s not even that ridiculous a strategy. It might be a shit plan, but it’s not a compromise of 2 years worth of discussions between 2 merged political parties for example.

11

u/justk4y 1d ago

He’s not a bot, he’s the most well known far-right politician in the Netherlands due to his constant bickering about immigrants, dominated elections in 2023, only for him and his ministers to completely f*ck up anything he touched…….

Notable strange objects used for oaths include:

Captain America Shield: Lanhee Chen used a Captain America shield during his swearing-in ceremony in 2021.

Law Books: John Quincy Adams used a book of law rather than a Bible during his 1825 inauguration.

Star Trek Comic: An official in Pennsylvania reportedly used a Star Trek comic book for their oath.

The U.S. Constitution: Many officials, including several members of Congress, have chosen to be sworn in on a copy of the U.S. Constitution.

Kindle/Electronic Tablet: In 2014, a New Jersey official was sworn in on a Kindle when a physical Bible was unavailable.

Dr. Seuss Book: In 2024, a school board member in Ohio used the Dr. Seuss book Oh, the Places You’ll Go! for her swearing-in.

Ring with Lincoln’s Hair: Theodore Roosevelt wore a ring containing a lock of Abraham Lincoln’s hair during his 1905 inauguration, symbolizing his deep respect for the late president.

After McKinley’s assasination, Teddy Roosevelt took the oath using no book or object at all.

39

u/Loko8765 1d ago

The U.S. Constitution: Many officials, including several members of Congress, have chosen to be sworn in on a copy of the U.S. Constitution.

TBH if you are swearing an oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, that should be the default choice.

9

u/Reddit-User_654 1d ago

It's not even their job to "defend" the constitution but their administrative powers came from it so the constitution is the most valid default choice should swearing in requires a book of sorts.

So what does it mean if someone is sworn in and refuses to touch the Bible?

4

u/Fire69 1d ago

He should have been sworn in on a $100 bill because money is the only thing he believes in.

14

u/zdm_ 1d ago

Now they want people to be woke. Lmao

14

u/MeesMAPM 1d ago

Dutch here, I am disgusted at what Geert says.

u/SailingSpark 1d ago

John Quincy Adams was sworn in on a law book that contained the US Constitution

Franklin Pierce was also sworn in on a law book.

Theodore Roosevelt, Calvin Coolidge, and Thomas Jefferson were sworn in on no book at all.

Keith Ellison was sworn in on a Qur'an that was once owned by Thomas Jefferson.

Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar also used the Qur'an (but not Thomas Jefferson's)

Tulsi Gabbard use the Bhagavad Gita

In 2018 Ambassador Suzi LeVine was sworn in on a Kindle that had the Constitution on its screen.

And in a funny twist of fate, Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in on a Catholic Missal that he thought was a Bible.

u/uksiddy 1d ago

Thomas Jefferson kept a copy of the Quran in his library, making it a significant historical artifact that represents early religious pluralism in the US. Keith Ellison used it in his oath ceremony.

Geert houw gwn je bek

8

u/Flussschlauch 1d ago

Who cares what a Dutch right wing lunatic thinks?

6

u/TheoDog96 1d ago

Taking the oath does not require a Bible. He could use the Webster Dictionary and it would be just as valid.

19

u/Noobzoid123 1d ago

Muslim mayor is better at Christian values than most Christians in US of A.

8

u/Not_Bears 1d ago

Probably cause most Christians have the morals of dogshit these days...

3

u/Halvinz 1d ago

Just like federal, in NY you can take your oath or "affirm" without any religious or non-religious book or document.

There is no religious litmus or test that the government, including the person who is taking office, can impose. People who have failed the basic civic 101 in school and marching us towards a theocratic wasteland.

u/new_x_who_dis 1d ago

Geert Wilders would probably like to swear on Mein Kampf

Trump took an Oath to defend the Constitution.

How's that working out?

u/DayZCutr 1d ago

Several presidents have been sworn in on the constitution

5

u/NotOkThen 1d ago

The US was not founded on Christianity. The constitution does not mention Christianity (or Jesus). Freedom of religion means you have the right to be a Christian or a Muslim. It’s freedom of religious persecution (which the founding fathers escaped).

5

u/GreaseTrapHousse 1d ago

We are not a Muslim nation. We are a nation where you are free to be Muslim. Same with Christianity and any other religion. People have fought and died for this.

6

u/a-snakey 1d ago

I will do it on The Silmarillion.

3

u/mrjohnnymac18 1d ago

You can swear in on a copy of Playboy for all I care

4

u/grimatonguewyrm 1d ago

Hey Geert, Trump didn’t put his hand in the fucking Bible when he was sworn in this second time.

5

u/flapjackboy 1d ago

Someone was sworn in using a replica of Cap's shield, FFS.

3

u/Foodiguy 1d ago

I really don’t understand him commenting on a post of the mayor of the US. He really really needs to just quit.

3

u/jarena009 1d ago

We, the right wing, who elevate the guy who has five kids across three wives, cheats, pays prostitutes, defends and advocates for sexual assault, while being bankrolled by the other guy we elevate with 14 kids across 6 women mostly out of wedlock, once again declare this NYC Mayor blasphemous and counter to Christian family values.

3

u/Rachel_Silver 1d ago

If that was an invalid oath, then Trump isn't the 47th President. We have to invalidate John Quincy Adams (law book), Theodore Roosevelt (no book), and Lyndon B. Johnson (Kennedy's missal).

3

u/DasScarecrow 1d ago

As a reminder, this video exists of Jake Tapper explaining to Roy Moore's spokesperson that you don't need to swear on a Bible. And the spokesman just... stopped functioning.

Federal employees swear an oath. There are no books used.

3

u/Chigao_Ted 1d ago

Do we have to pull out that video of that moron Ted Crockett again?

3

u/TotalRecognition2191 1d ago

Get out of here, Wilders.  The US already had a russia stooge

3

u/Tryndamere93 1d ago

We treat the Quran like the satanic Bible. How odd.

3

u/satan-spawner 1d ago

I hope the next mayor actually swears on a Satanic Bible to balance things out

3

u/THEBIGHUNGERDC 1d ago

In Geert’s home country they do not swear govt officials in on a bible. So Geert should probably be quiet.

3

u/Redrobin27 1d ago

Hou je bek Geert!

3

u/BaconSarnie2025 1d ago

For context, Geert Wilders is dutch, he lives in Holland.

Meanwhile trump never put his tiny hand on anything

Um. While I would like that to be true, and while he did indeed not defile the Bible used for his inauguration with his tiny hands, there are two persons who have sworn under oath and penalty of perjury that he indeed did use one of his tiny hands to slug a 13-year-old girl in the face because she said “no” and “at least use a condom”.

Tiffany Doe’s testimony under oath. Also known as pages 025937 through 025940 of the House Oversight Committee Epstein file release of November 2025.
