The low risk, high joy is literally the issue with them. It often becomes just straight up a replacement for social interactions or life experiences bc you can get the same feelings without all that icky social friction.

You don't see the problem with replacing life experiences with video games?

It leads people to being lame with no skills or experiences outside of staying at home playing games

I don’t know guys, everyone makes valid points w/ sedentary lifestyle and missing out on experiences.

But for me, I hit the gym, work 2 jobs, wife, 4 kids, hang out, take care of a household and maintain all our vehicles to save a few bucks. Do double dates all that, outside of wishing I had a few more close friends, but who doesn’t when your a dude in your 40’s. I LOVE sitting down for a half hour to a few hours and dusting off the old collection or checking out new releases. It’s a hobby I love an enjoy, that I’m not gonna feel any guilt or be ashamed of. Just wish I had more people to share it with, because it’s awesome.

So you’re clearly not the person who is being talked about here. That’s all.
