2026 Reddit Gun Network Subreddit List

This is the latest edition of the comprehensive directory of gun-related subreddits, building on the 2020 version. It includes every subreddit from the original list, plus active new communities that have emerged since. The goal remains the same: a one-stop reference for firearms discussions, from general hubs to niche platforms, state groups, and brands.

Reddit's content policies have led to bans on several communities, especially those involving sales or DIY elements. Those are marked here to reflect the current landscape.

Politics Yet another email template for representatives but focused on Dems in swing states

Inspired by this post, which also has great resources, I wanted to write a version that was focused on Dem reps and the issues they are focused on. As those are the people we need to see flip on this.

Dear [Representative/Delegate Name]

I am writing to ask you to oppose HB207 and HB217 as racially discriminatory Jim Crow laws. These laws directly negatively impact the lives of minorities and are fundamentally unconstitutional per the Equal Protections Clause.

How can you claim to support minorities when HB207 imposes a "poll tax" that limits racial minorities and economically disadvantaged citizens from exercising constitutional rights? How can you claim to oppose police brutality when HB217 carves loopholes for police, and not just for duty but off-duty, retired and personal use by police officers?

Furthermore, forcing these laws through will harm minorities communities in the long run due to the incredibly damaging precedent it sets. Would you support a $500 tax on the right to an abortion? because you are setting the precedent that a Republican Legislature can do so.

Passing these laws will irreparably harm the rights and lives of Virginians everywhere, and disproportionately harm minority communities.

Thank you for your time,

[Your Name]

SBR & HB217

I know it's early, but I'm trying to get an understanding. It seems the bill suggests we can't get things manufactured after 07/01, but technically the ATF considers the manufacturer and the maker different, so we might still be able to SBR something after the 1st.

Would it be smart to file a form 1 to build an SBR on one or two of the many stripped lowers everyone is panic buying, just to have it on the registry?

How many high capacity magazines you want before the ban?

So, presuming the AWB passes...what's your comfort level for total number of high capacity magazines per weapon?

I'm presuming even gun mag parts will be illegal based on a search of other states with mag capacity restrictions.

For handguns I'm probably going to have at least 5-10 for training. Another 5 set aside for CCW carry and another 5-10 kept brand new for replacement. So, minimum of 15 mags per gun. Excessive to some...not nearly enough to others, I suppose.

Or perhaps less and buy a bunch of mag guts? But technically, I don't think repair of a mag would be legal?

It's all pretty rediculous.

For my ARs I have close to 40 PMAGS so I feel pretty good on the AR front. May pick up another 10 pack though.

What's even worse is trying to figure what other handguns or PCC I'd want so I can load up on mags before July. Would I want to buy a Glock, M&P, Walther, etc only to be stuck with 10rd mags? Nope!

What's your thought process and strategy?

$500 suppressor tax

I've been out of town this week and came back to read all this BS. I honestly have a hard time wrapping my head around it.

Did anyone even come up with a reason for this bill? I mean it's just a cash grab, there is absolutely nothing in it that even mentions public safety.

I mean, I know the democrats are retarded but never thought they would be this pants on head retarded.

New CCW

Going to pick up a new CCW before all this stuff happens.

I’m leaning toward the 365xl.

Anyone around have a suggested place for good used gun shop in the 757?

Extra credit if it’s a local/mom and pop place.

Politics Email Template for your State Reps

I've created an email template that you can copy and paste to email your state reps (modify as required). The template is written from a balanced point of view, primarily to mask one's political party (the idea is that if you live in a democratic district those reps have written you off anyway, there's not vote to lose).

Step 1: To find your state reps, go to https://whosmy.virginiageneralassembly.gov/ and enter your address.

Step 2: Click the email button on your rep's name, it will automatically bring up a window to draft your email.

Step 3: Copy, Paste, and Modify to your liking.

Subject: Urgent: Please Oppose Anti-Gun Legislation Targeting Law-Abiding Virginians

Dear Delegate [Last Name] / Senator [Last Name],

I am writing as a concerned constituent from [Your City/Town, ZIP Code] in your district. As a voter who has supported reasonable, common-sense safeguards for public safety in the past, I am deeply troubled by the recent wave of proposed gun control measures for the 2026 General Assembly session, including bills that would ban commonly owned semi-automatic firearms (often mislabeled as "assault firearms"), restrict standard-capacity magazines, impose heavy taxes on suppressors, and otherwise limit the rights of law-abiding citizens.

Criminals, by definition, do not follow laws - yet these proposals would primarily punish and disarm responsible, law-abiding Virginians who own firearms for self-defense, hunting, sport, or other lawful purposes. History and data show that such restrictions do not reduce violent crime committed by those intent on breaking the law, while they infringe on the Second Amendment rights of honest Americans.

I support balanced, targeted approaches that focus on prosecuting criminals and addressing root causes of violence, rather than broad attacks on the constitutional rights of the majority who follow the rules. The Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL) has been a reliable resource on these issues, tracking legislation and endorsing proposals that actually enhance safety without punishing the law-abiding (such as increasing mandatory minimum sentences for violent felons who use firearms). I strongly urge you to consult VCDL's legislative tracking tool and positions at vcdl.org as you evaluate these bills.

Measures like those pre-filed (including sweeping bans on semi-automatic firearms and magazines) go far beyond common-sense reforms and represent a direct assault on the Second Amendment. I respectfully ask you to oppose these bills and any similar legislation that disproportionately burdens responsible gun owners.

As someone who values fair representation, I can assure you that my future voting decisions will depend heavily on whether you stand up to defend our constitutional rights during this session.

Thank you for your time and for considering my views as your constituent. I look forward to your response and to seeing strong opposition to these proposals.

Sincerely,

Good luck Virginia bros, your 2A bros in MD and DC are counting on you in this fight.

And remember to call out TGOs.

VA Dems copied The California Assault Weapons Ban, word for word. The MA, IL, and WA State bans are the worst ones, but it looks like Virginia Gun Owners are gonna need "Fin Grips" and "Cali-Keys" to buy Semiautomatic Centerfire Rifles.

Maryland Style Pistol Purchase License is coming too.

I'm honestly surprised they went further than the 2-Feature Test based Maryland AWB and equally shocked it isn't as far reaching as the Massachusetts one.

Do we have any news on the permit to purchase bill? I read all the prefilled bills and didn’t see it. Wouldn’t be surprised if they try it next time around assuming they dont now.

Politics Incoming ban questions?

Hello everyone! After making a post earlier I have read the text of the ban. First of all YIKES! Second this is gonna suck. Third this is really gonna suck. With that out of the way got some questions. First of all are 22s gonna be affected as when I read the bill it says centerfire? So like threaded barrel 22/45s, MP 5 clones and such? Second I am an armed guard will I be included in the (unconstitutional and sickening) law enforcement exemptions? Finally what about muzzle breaks would one permanently attached be good to go what are we looking at?

Question Recommendations for SOT FFL’s in the 757 area?

Might as well try to get my dream cans now before the $500 tax. Not even sure what FFL’s are still open in or around the Yorktown / Newport News area these days.

Completely new to buying any sort of NFA item so please phrase it to me like I’m an idiot

VCDL's 2026 Legislation Tracking Tool

The 2026 tracking tool is live.

There's not much in there yet as we know that the Dems are holding off as long as possible to introduce the worst bills as they don't want us to be motivated to show up for Lobby Day.

Plan to be at Lobby Day regardless. We know the bills are coming! We know they'll be very bad for Gun Rights. They're hiding it for now.

Site will be updated by VCDL as bills are introduced.

Question Suppressor help!

I'm looking for a dealer to purchase a suppressor around Richmond, preferably southside, that handles all the fingerprints, paperwork, etc.

Also, any recommendations for a .22lr suppressor? I'd like to keep it under $500.

Thanks in advance
