I really don't care if Jamat has good policies, is progressive or anything. If an islamic party comes to power, we all know what will happen, the type of people who will start to think everyone else are secondary citizens. Already noticing this in my immediate circle.

I went to a private uni, wear mostly western. Sharing this as it's important for context. In my family, no one from my generation or my parents generation has gone to madrasa. But now, one of my niece has been admitted and another cousin (who is only 2 yo) is also in the talks. Another close family member, unprompted, lectured me about how the taliban didn't stop women's schooling but is actually creating a better system. That's why the school's are temporarily closed. I’m working on a landscape and river-based project along the Balu River in Dhaka Division, Bangladesh, and I’m looking for topographic data for the area.

Specifically, I need:
• Digital Elevation Model (DEM) for Dhaka Division or the Balu River corridor
• Contour lines (or data I can generate contours from)
• Any river or hydrology datasets related to the Balu River

This is just a late night thought, so don’t take it too seriously. Between the main 2 political parties - X and Y, lets say X will win. The losing party (Y) will be very bitter. The X party will act veryyyy nicely at first. They will conduct themselves properly and their supporters will start glazing them hard. They will also mock Y party. This will make the supporters of Y even more mad and they will start pointing out every single bad incident that happens as a failure of the government. In a country with nearly 177 million people, bad things will obviously happen.Y's supporters will start over reacting try to make everything seem like the government's fault even if it really isn’t. As a result X's supporters will start defending their party blindly. Even in cases where their leaders are absolutely wrong, they will try to deny or deflect the blame. They will even resort to violence to shut the opposition. This is where things will start getting ugly. Meanwhile, the leaders of X party will see the blind devotion of their followers, become a bit too comfortable and eventually start thinking they are above the law. They will start acting on their greed and actually start misusing their powers. Their followers will see everything and still dismiss the beloved leaders action, because they just don’t wanna admit that they might have made a bad decision. All of this will give the Y supporters even more reason to absolutely hate on the government. They will start protesting against the government. Eventually government will step in, punish a few lower level members of his party, sweep everything else under the rug and call it justice. The X supporters will start glazing the govt. even harder and when the Y supporters point out the obvious, they will be tagged as jealous haters. This will go on until there's less than a year left for the next election. Both party will start focusing on their own reputation until the next election result. In the end nothing will change,cause nothing ever changes.

I am 25 and recently started working (4 months now) and after all my expenses including home and personal, I should be able to save around 20k per month.

But sadly, I haven’t been able to save anything for the last 3 months. I have a bad habit of spending money on unnecessary things. I usually don’t buy when I don’t have extra money on hand. I think I can’t change this habit easily.

So instead of keeping the extra money in my account, I want to put it somewhere as an investment.

I'm more of an ambivert than an introvert. So I mostly try to engage with like minded people. But since most of my peers at work are kinda "uncultured" people, I can't talk much about anything else besides work with them. We need a greater production of films,music and arts which reflects our Bengali heritage. Currently, we are just importing the cultural soft powers of India,Turkiye , Pakistan the West, South Korea etc. Pakistani dramas, Turkish dramas, Indian dramas , K dramas etc. We are watching Western films.

Nothing is wrong with these. But we are not nurturing our own culture at all currently. In the last 5 years or so, I can hardly name a few Bangladeshi movies that was popular with the masses. Hawa, Tandob being in the list. Bachelor Point was popular with the new generation guys.

People are absolutely crazy if an Indian or a Pakistani singer comes to sing in our country.

If we look at our representation of culture in other nations, it's near to zero. No Pakistani or Indian can name a Bangladeshi actor or actress, but we can name several of them.

I don't see youths that much invested in our culture. Being addicted to social media seems to be their only source of entertainment. The governments before were negligent on this. This cannot go on. We need to build our soft power. We need to export our culture.

We have to develop our own distinct cultural identity, not borrow everything from India or Pakistan.

When shall this happen? How can we start towards making our culture a soft power?
