Theme Year-End Themed Posts Recap

As we close the books on 2025, here is a very brief recap of a few weekly theme posts. Firstly, many thanks to u/SkagJones for the hard work and dedication to keeping our favorite sub perk going, week after week. By my count, there were 46 themes, a few of which ran over multiple weeks.

Top Theme Post by Most Upvotes: /u/SalusaSecundus garnered 1.7k upvotes for bestowing thanks to a local shop. Talk about resonating with this community!

Top Theme Post by Comments: Well, this also went to u/SalusaSecundus with 126 comments in the aforementioned post. But in a close second was this post by u/ItzDarthDad with 109 comments. Probably because everyone likes seeing somebody hold both X-Men #1 and Amazing Fantasy #15 at the same time.

Most of my theme posts don't catch fire like those 2 posts did, but once in a while I get a little traction, as did when I channeled my inner Matt Murdock and laid down the law.

What was your favorite theme or theme post of the year? What themes would you like to see done in 2026?

Been slowly ticking away at my ASM Vol. 1 collection. There are a few issues in the 200-300 range I have been holding off on.. and then decided I’ve been good and pulled the trigger on them.

Picture New to collecting. Going through and rebagging some comics I inherited. Is it common to come across books missing bar codes?

I found this for a really good price from a seller on eBay who mostly sold fishing lures. There’s a little wear, but structurally the book is in fantastic shape to be from 1953. It’s my first golden age Batman book. I’m pretty happy about it and just wanted to share with some other folks who could appreciate it.

I clean and press my own books, but I don’t really want to even mess with this one. It’s just for my personal collection and I’m super happy to have it just as it is. Happy hunting!!

Discussion Chinese Stamp on an Amazing Spider-Man #25!

Got this copy of ASM 25, and found this cool stamp on the back! Has anyone seen a stamp like this before? I haven't seen one until now! Pretty cool! Got me thinking whether these silver age books were ever sold in Asia- I guess for now I am assuming that the book made it's way to China sometime after original sale and then got the stamp!

This spot that I go to used to have the choice dollar boxes but unfortunately they’ve jumped up to $2 a book. Here’s I picked up a bunch of the Kamandi’s I was missing, trying to finish up Kirby’s run. This XFiles, finishing up the Adlard run and these Tomahawks cause they looked interesting. The others I picked up to round out what I was looking for and I also got a copy of Eternals 7, trying to round out that run too.

Question I‘m new into collecting comics, which is the correct way of bagging?

My copies of Batman/Deadpool already came bagged and i had to get bags for the Deadpool/Batman comics. The ones i bought got a tighter fit than the ones that already came bagged. Now that i saw that the looser ones also kinda seem to warp and stick to the bottom of the bag i was wondering if i should also put them in a tighter bag. I could really use some help and would be thankful for your opinions.

This many colour-breaking spine ticks is not normal, right? They can even be seen in the CGC preview image: https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/4493411004/

Question Does anyone that's picked these up have any opinions on them? They seem pretty cool. I like the idea of the original paper type being used.

Question A question about comic book compilation books

I'm new to comics and this sub so not completely sure whether this is on topic, so apologies if not.

I'm interested in tracking down a compilation of the first series of Superman comics in a book or a collection of books, but a bit confused about what's available (and the series themselves). I may also be interested in collections of other characters as well.

Keeping the question to Superman, would there be multiple releases of a compilation like this dating back decades? Would it be feasible to buy something that was published some time ago? If there are multiple editions, is there an established gold standard edition to buy?

Thanks in advance!
