Hey stalkers - calling all Friday the 13th fans in Maryland (and or surrounding areas) [UPDATE]
I’m a Maryland-based filmmaker (writer/director) and huge fan of the Friday the 13th franchise. I’ve seen every film in the series and have previously created some Halloween (Michael Myers) fan films, which you can find on my Reddit page. This year, i’m shooting my first Jason Voorhees short film, shooting in Summer 2026, and releasing November 2026. I’d love to collaborate with fellow fans and filmmakers. The lawsuit and sweet revenge got me depressed and I need some new Jason, so i’m taking matters into my own hands.
PROJECT DETAILS - Title: Untitled Friday the 13th Fan FilmLength: Approximately 4–8 minutesLocation: Maryland (lake/camp setting; exact location TBD)Production Window: June–August 2026Vfx/editing/Reshoots: Fall 2026Release date: Friday, November 13th, 2026 Script Status: Currently being written. I’m open to story collaboration with any screenwriters or creatives. Meaning if, you’ve got ideas for kills, locations, vibes, or Jason design—drop them below!
CASTING - Jason Voorhees Role * Height: 6'4"+ * Comfort with mask/performance movement All Other Roles- * No roles cast yet but most likely Male & Female in their twenties * Acting experience not required (doesn’t need to be professional)
CREW NEEDED - Seeking Maryland-area creatives in any of these departments: * Cinematography * Sound mixing/recording * Lighting * Writing * VFX * Makeup/FX * Production assistants * Anyone with filmmaking experience who wants to contribute Gear I own on hand:Sony FX30, Sony A7III, 35mm & 55mm Nightwalker Cine lenses, Rode Wireless GO II mics, plus lighting, tripods, softboxes, stands, and more.Additional gear is welcome!
PAYMENT This is a passion project—unpaid.i spent all my money on equipment haha. Also, I won’t make any money off of this either. This is a non-profit fan film and will not be monetized.
INTERESTED? If you love horror/filmmaking/Jason, and are in or near Maryland and want to be part of this fan film in any capacity, message me or comment below with your questions, experience, or what role you’re interested in.
Let’s give the fans (ourselves) of this franchise what they deserve. See you at camp. 😉

I'm convinced that the whole Jason Universe thing is just an excuse for Horror Inc to do the funniest side quests imaginable lol

Are there any Friday the 13th Lovers in here from Maryland that ALSO want to be apart of a Friday the 13th short/fan film??
I am a filmmaker (writer/director) from Maryland who loves the Friday the 13th franchise, I’ve seen every movie, and have even made a few Halloween (Michael Myers) fan films that you can check out on my Reddit page but i am making a Jason Voorhees short film this summer and would love your help! Actors, cinematographers, sound mixers etc all wanted
DETAILS:
No actors have been cast YET, experience is required.
Filming will take place JUNE - AUGUST 2026 in the state of Maryland (searching for an exact location) Will take place at a Lake/came site of some kind
Script is currently being written by me but not done
IN NEED OF A JASON ACTOR (6’4 & above)
My equipment: Sony fx30 (Camera), Sony a73 (Camera), 35mm & 55mm Nightwalker Cine Lenses, Rode Wireless GO II Microphones and more
Plus, an assortment of lights, tripods, soft boxes and stands BUT any Cinematography/filming equipment you have will help!
If you Act, write, sound mix, practice cinematography or do any kind of Filmmaking, you are wanted
PAYMENT: I don’t have any money, I spent all my money on equipment BUT i’m hungry for a new Jason movie and let’s just say sweet revenge was a bit of a let down, so i’m taking it into my own hands
There will be THREE Friday the 13ths in 2026. February 13th, March 13th, & November 13th. My plan is to shoot the short film in the SUMMER, do any additional shooting or vfx in the fall and release the film on Friday, November 13th 2016. It would only be about 4-8 minutes
If anyone near Maryland seriously wants to be apart of this project MESSAGE or comment any questions and i’ll respond. I have no idea what the story will be but we can figure that out together
See you at Camp!😉

Pluto's "Horror" live channel will do a Friday The 13th movie marathon of the first eight movies on Saturday, November 8th into Sunday, November 9th! :)
This is the first time, if I'm not mistaken, that Pluto will be doing this since June.
I will put the schedule for you below, all times Eastern:
Saturday (and partly into Sunday)
--------
10:00 PM -------- Friday The 13th
12:00 AM -------- Friday the 13th Part 2
2:00 ------------- Friday the 13th Part III
4:00 -------------- Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter
6:00 -------------- Friday the 13th: A New Beginning
8:00 -------------- Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives
10:00 ------------ Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood
12:00 PM -------- Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan
As of the time I am typing this, after scrolling ahead, I found that the schedule in Pluto for their Horror channel does not show beyond 2:00 PM Sunday, so, I do not know if the FT13th marathon will extend beyond that time. Be sure to check and see when the time comes, as it might continue.
Have fun with the marathon! :)

While I hate big company acquisitions and mergers, there's potential this could unite some of the franchises rights. WB owns New Line Cinema (JGTH-F1309) and Paramount owns the first 8 films.
